“Okay, I’m leaving now and won’t disturb your rest. See you tomorrow.” Su Han doesn’t linger any longer. Though she isn’t tired, Qin Xue is exhausted with her pregnancy, so it’s better not to stick around and be unwelcome.
“Alright, goodbye.” Qin Xue responds to her. After Su Han leaves, she finally closes shop.
“She’s gone.” Nangong Shulan waits for a while before coming out. She sees Qin Xue cleaning up and Chu Molin closing the door.
“Yes, she’s gone. You should go rest; I’ll take care of the shop.” Qin Xue sees her mother come out and tells her to go back to her room. There’s no need for her mother to do these little tasks; she can handle them herself.
“Okay, I know. Would you like to eat something?” Nangong Shulan considers her pregnant daughter, worrying she might be hungry.
“No need, we just ate not long ago, not hungry.” Qin Xue isn’t a pig, eating one meal and then immediately needing another.
“Alright, then after washing up, go to bed early.” Nangong Shulan knows her daughter has had a busy day. As she’s closing the door, she doesn’t say much more.
“This kind of exhaustion is really uncomfortable.” Qin Xue rubs her shoulder with a grim face when she returns to her room after washing up. Being tired is uncomfortable enough, but now being pregnant makes it even more challenging. Who knew after all this busyness she’d feel like she’s falling apart?
“Sit down, let me massage you.” Chu Molin closes his book and stands up, offering his wife a seat.
He hasn’t washed up yet, but his wife is uncomfortable, so he prioritizes her. He can go later.
“I don’t know why I’m more tired with this pregnancy. I haven’t even been as busy as the first time, yet I’m more exhausted. Truly blessed yet unable to enjoy it.” Qin Xue doesn’t know what to say about herself. Although she learned about this pregnancy later, that shouldn’t be related, right?
Really don’t know what kind of fate she has. Clearly, life is a bit easier now, so why is she acting so delicate?
“Don’t say nonsense. You’re not busy? When have you spent a day peacefully at home? You’re always spinning like a top, claiming you’re enjoying life. Are you trying to make me feel hurt?” Chu Molin doesn’t want to say it but knows he has to hit the point for her to really listen.
“No way, you’re just overthinking. If I really felt that way, I’d leave everything to you. I’m just trying to challenge myself.” Qin Xue realizes she might be in trouble; this man is difficult to appease when angry.
“Haha, then why am I at home while you’re busy outside, huh?” Chu Molin asks dangerously, but his hands maintain the same pressure.
No matter what, being angry shouldn’t lead to hurting her.
So Chu Molin keeps his hand’s pressure controlled, not letting his emotions affect his wife.
“Honey, you have to know, you’re set for bigger things. I’m just doing small chores now. When it’s your turn, that’s when to shine. I’m supposed to depend on you for meals in the future; how dare I steal your thunder, right?” Qin Xue wants to turn to see him, but his hand on her shoulder holds her still.
“Don’t move around; otherwise, if I press too hard, you’ll end up calling out in pain.” Chu Molin doesn’t allow her to turn, telling her to sit quietly. Moving could hurt her if he’s not careful.
“So you won’t be mad at me, right?” Qin Xue asks cautiously.
“Are you really that afraid of me being angry?” Chu Molin asks lightly.
“Yes, you have no idea how scary you are when you’re mad.” Qin Xue quickly replies.
“Oh, how come I don’t remember ever losing my temper at you?” Since meeting her, Chu Molin hasn’t spoken harshly to her, let alone losing his temper.
“Haha, I didn’t mean that; I’ve seen you angry before. Your face turns as dark as the bottom of a pot.” Qin Xue can’t say much more.
She’s only seen it, but she doesn’t want him to be angry for real; it’s too bad for his health.
