Chapter 1976: Chapter 1986: She Suspects It Has Something to Do with Skye Lawrence
Enna Clark put her phone back into her bag, sat on the bed, pondering the issue she had been half way through thinking about.
Who exactly set up this scheme?
What do they intend to do?
Do they just want to bring down Rhine?
If it’s simply about bringing down Rhine, there are many who would do that. After all, Rhine is a big company with plenty of competitors wanting to take its market share.
Another possibility, and the worst one, is that the other party not only wants to bring down Rhine, but also ruin her reputation.
If that’s the case, as she thought it over, only one person has both the intention and the capability to do such a thing—Skye Lawrence!
Even though she had no evidence, her intuition told her that if it’s truly the latter, the only one who could and would do it is Skye Lawrence.
Since the last Lawrence Corporation crisis, she had realized that Skye Lawrence strongly disapproved of her being with Baron Lawrence.
Back then, she even risked the safety of Lawrence Corporation just to keep them apart, using it as a bargaining chip.
It shows her determination.
She still remembers when she first met Skye Lawrence, Skye didn’t show such strong aversion. They weren’t extremely friendly, but it hadn’t reached the point of wanting her dead.
Later, Baron Lawrence told her to stay away from Skye Lawrence, to be careful of her, and she didn’t understand why.
Since the last incident, she somewhat understands why.
Skye Lawrence seems to have an obsessive compulsion to keep her and Baron Lawrence apart.
That obsession is as if being together with Baron would bring ruin to him.
Skye Lawrence, to separate them, wouldn’t mind risking the safety of Lawrence Corporation, it’s not impossible she would orchestrate this.
However, Enna Clark still couldn’t reconcile the idea of linking her with someone who could disregard human lives.
If the person behind this was really Skye Lawrence, what should she do?
Skye Lawrence is Baron’s sister, and Scott Harris had also mentioned that Skye had once shielded Baron from a bullet.
If Skye Lawrence truly orchestrated all this, could she treat her just as anyone else, disregard the feelings of the Lawrence Family, and really demand justice from Skye?
Enna Clark wasn’t sure if she would ultimately let Skye Lawrence off the hook because of Baron.
But as soon as this thought came to her, she remembered the despairing expression of the old lady who had grabbed her collar and cried for her son’s return that afternoon, and her heart twisted fiercely.
If Bobby had been hurt by someone, would she let them go?
If she really let that person go, what difference would there be between her and the accomplice?
Enna Clark was still lost in her wild thoughts, unaware that the bathroom door had opened while she was dazing off. A tall figure with a honey locust scent had already approached her. Realizing that she was spacing out, and completely unaware of his presence, the handsome man raised his brows and suddenly pushed forward dominantly, grabbed her wrist with a strong force, and pinned her down onto the bed.
"Ah, Baron Lawrence!"
Enna Clark was startled, snapping back to reality instantly. She wanted to move but realized that her wrists were firmly held against the sides and she couldn’t budge.
She twisted her head, the unique scent of this man seeped everywhere, unable to tell if it was due to the heat after his shower or the room’s air conditioning, Enna Clark constantly felt that the atmosphere was unbearably intimate.
