Chapter 2003: Chapter 2013: A Bucket of Icy Water Poured Over My Head
A bucket of water was dumped right over Olivia Lewis’s head!
The icy cold water was not the warm water usually used during filming; it was real cold water!
Not only was it genuinely cold water, but there was something else mixed in it—hard ice cubes—making it impossible for Olivia to keep her eyes open.
It was autumn, and the mornings were already quite chilly. Suddenly, a bucket of water with ice cubes poured over her head, bringing a cold that seemed to penetrate right through her bones.
She bit down hard on her teeth, standing in the icy water, enduring until the Director called cut.
"What are you doing! You need to show the protagonist’s heartbreak, why aren’t you crying?" the Director yelled furiously.
"Stop! Let’s do another take!"
The icy water finally came to a stop.
Olivia’s lips had turned purple from the cold. She looked at the Director, trembling all over, and calmly said, "How do you know I wasn’t crying? Could you see it?"
Unbelievable, that huge bucket of icy water kept pouring over her head, and he could still tell whether she was crying or not under those conditions? If she couldn’t tell this Director was deliberately picking a fight, she’d be a fool!
"I could tell from your expression that it wasn’t sad enough, so you weren’t crying sincerely. Alright, let’s do another take," the Director persisted firmly.
Olivia gritted her teeth, just about to lose her temper.
A coquettish voice came from behind, "Oh dear, Director Lane, why are you so upset so early in the morning?"
"Actors these days are too unprofessional. I just said a few words to her, and she’s not happy," the Director’s attitude changed, much softer toward the newcomer.
Olivia looked at the newcomer and immediately felt as if she had swallowed a fly—utterly disgusted.
Why is this woman here?
Lisa caught a glimpse of her disheveled state, immensely pleased, covering her mouth with a chuckle, "What’s the big deal, anyway? It’s just a stunt double shot. Olivia and I go way back, so why not do me a favor and let this one pass?"
"What stunt double shot?" Olivia heard their conversation and asked with a stern face.
The Director hadn’t spoken before the coquettish woman said, "Oh, you don’t know? I got this commercial. But I didn’t want to shoot this water scene in the freezing cold, so I wanted to find someone suitable to take my place, and then it’ll just get edited as me. I thought and thought and couldn’t find anyone suitable until I thought of you. Olivia, you’re the most professional, always giving your best no matter the scene. I thought of asking you to be my double and help me shoot this scene. I’m sure it would turn out great. I even told the brand boss, and I couldn’t believe you actually agreed to take this job. I was really thrilled. I thought you wouldn’t agree to be my stunt double and help me shoot this part." She had worked hard to build connections, thinking she could win that major Queen of Acting title, but unexpectedly, Olivia swooped in, grabbed the title, and the press releases were all about her lack of professionalism. Ha, now that Olivia no longer had a benefactor backing her, she didn’t believe she couldn’t handle this little vixen!
"I just watched, and indeed, it was shot well. Even in such cold water, you managed to continue shooting. Truly worthy of the Queen of Acting," she remarked.
Damn it!
Olivia nearly wanted to drag her over and give her a good slap.
She knew it! Normally when shooting scenes like rain or water pouring, warm water is used. Why was it icy water with ice cubes poured over her? It turned out it was all planned by this woman to humiliate her at this moment!
