"It’s nothing, I wanted to see if you’re free tonight to join me at a dinner party. I couldn’t find a female companion." Edward Jackson’s tone was helpless.

Enna Clark immediately knew Grandma was probably trying to set him up again.

Most likely, Grandma arranged a female companion for him, using her as an excuse for matchmaking, which he didn’t want, thus leaving him without a female companion and needing her to help out.

Enna Clark hung up the phone.

She said helplessly to Joanne Harrison, busy in the kitchen, "Sorry, Joanne, I probably won’t be able to have dinner tonight. I have something to attend to this evening. Could you help me look after Bobby and the others? Mr. Harris will come by later. I’ll leave once Mr. Harris arrives."

Joanne Harrison had taken great care of her in Mauritius, and Enna Clark liked her kind-hearted, non-intrusive nature. She had heard that during the elevator incident, it was Joanne’s quick thinking that got Baron Lawrence to save her, so she kept Joanne around—not as a servant, but more to look after Gigi.
