Capítulo 1327: 231: Zhao Jingrong has gone crazy! _2

The police officers came to find Ni Yang because it was her evidence that had led to Zhao Jingrong being taken into custody at the time.

Therefore, the first thing Zhao Jingrong would likely do after escaping prison would be to come and seek revenge on Ni Yang.

As police officers, their primary responsibility was to ensure Ni Yang’s safety.

Ni Yang was taken aback, “She escaped?”

She hadn’t expected Zhao Jingrong to manage an escape.

“Yes,” the officer continued, “but don’t worry, we’ve already set up checkpoints at the major bus stations, train stations, and airports, and we’ve stationed people to monitor all her family and friends as well.”

Ni Yang nodded, “I haven’t noticed anything unusual here, but since Zhao Jingrong knows my home address, I’ll head back home to check.”

“We’ll go with you.”

“Alright.”

In the era before surveillance was widespread, things were this troublesome. In the future with sophisticated monitoring systems, tracking someone’s whereabouts would be a matter of moments.

Without wasting time, Ni Yang drove back to Jinghua Village.

Jinghua Village was as serene as ever, but the arrival of a police car disturbed its peace.

The villagers were curious—what could have happened?

The Ni Family home was just as tranquil as usual.

Zhao Yu was crouched over the table doing homework.

Little Ni Yun was playing with Dapang and Xiaopang.

Grandma Zhao and Grandma Shangguan had gone out to chat with others.

Grandpa Zheng was busy fertilizing the flowers and plants.

Among the family members, only these few were home; the others were off at work.

“Mom! Why are you back? Huh, the police officers are here too?” Zhao Yu put down her pen and looked at Ni Yang, puzzled.

The officers were momentarily stunned upon hearing Zhao Yu call Ni Yang “Mom.”

They couldn’t help but think—

Ni Yang looks so young! She seems younger than her daughter!

Ni Yang spoke, “Duoduo, Zhao Jingrong has escaped from prison. Have you noticed anything unusual at home?”

“What the heck!” Zhao Yu exclaimed in shock, “She actually escaped? That’s impressive!”

Seeing Zhao Yu’s reaction, Ni Yang could tell nothing unusual had happened at home. She then turned and headed toward Ni Chengui’s courtyard.

Although Zhao Jingrong and Ni Chengui hadn’t had any major conflicts, given Zhao Jingrong’s lack of rationality right now, there was still a significant possibility she might target Ni Chengui.

The gate to Ni Chengui’s courtyard was open.

When Ni Yang entered, Ni Chengui was soaking white fungus and lotus seeds.

“Aunt Ni.”

Hearing this, Ni Chengui smiled and looked up, “Yangyang, you’re back from Hang City?”

Ni Yang nodded and said, “Aunt Ni, Zhao Jingrong has escaped prison. Have you noticed anything unusual here?”

Ni Chengui froze for a moment, “She escaped? When did this happen?”

“Just this morning,” Ni Yang replied, examining the surroundings of the courtyard. She then asked, “Aunt Ni, where’s Yuanyuan?”

Ni Chengui smiled and said, “Yuanyuan is asleep inside!”

Ni Yang nodded in acknowledgment.

Ni Chengui continued, “Yangyang, I was just about to make sweet soup. Be sure to come over tonight to try some.”

“Alright,” Ni Yang replied. “Aunt Ni, be cautious at home. If anything seems off, please alert us immediately!”

“Don’t worry!” Ni Chengui said. “But I doubt Zhao Jingrong would dare come here.”

“That’s not guaranteed. Better to stay extra vigilant.”

“True,” Ni Chengui nodded and agreed. “Yangyang, you’re absolutely right.”

In the afternoon, Ni Yang didn’t return to the company but stayed at home.

Close to 4 p.m., Mo Qishen arrived.

After hearing about Zhao Jingrong’s escape, Mo Qishen furrowed his brows slightly and immediately went out to make calls, arranging for people to investigate Zhao Jingrong’s whereabouts.

After hanging up, Mo Qishen kept a tense expression on his face.

“Brother Mo, don’t worry. Everything will be fine,” Ni Yang tried to reassure him.

Mo Qishen grabbed Ni Yang’s hand tightly. “From now on, you’re not allowed to leave my sight for even a second.”

Ni Yang chuckled, “Brother Mo, what are you thinking?”

Mo Qishen gazed out the window, his eyes brimming with thoughts.

Around 5 p.m., Ni Chengui brought over a large pot of freshly made sweet soup, serving a bowl to each member of the Ni Family.

Zhao Yu, who had always had a sweet tooth, exclaimed, “Auntie, your cooking skills are simply amazing!”

Adelle also enjoyed the sweet soup, nodding in agreement with Zhao Yu’s words.

Carrying the last bowl, Ni Chengui asked, “Duoduo, where’s your mom?”

“I think she’s upstairs. I’ll go call her,” Zhao Yu said, sipping her sweet soup while heading upstairs.
