“Do you still attack Fan Yi Kingdom in the next year?” Bu Hui asked.
“No.” San Han Yao shook his head. “We preserved the food, especially the grains, so that it could last for a long time. There are animals that we have raised for meat as you know but we can’t really farm on our own.”
The northern tribe always move their camps from one place to another. Even though they were more or less still at the central north of Fei Yang Kingdom’s border, but their actual location had changed many times.
And for them to reach Fei Yang Kingdom’s border, it would take some time even with horse.
“I know.” Bu Hui nodded.
He had asked his teacher about helping the northern tribe using other ways, but his teacher told him that it’s impossible.
Teacher Mi’s knowledge for other things than war related items were basically a blank and if he was asked to do it, he couldn’t. The main reasons for the poverty of the northern tribe was because they relied more on hunting and taking care of their herds to live.
But the resources were scarce.
If they wanted to live better, they could only rob the nearby kingdom.
Just imagine it.
They were all living in a difficult situation all year long, working hard for a small yield and still had to suffer because their living situation was very harsh. Every single year, there will be people who died out of cold because they didn’t have enough warm clothing to protect themselves.
And then beside them was a very rich neighbor who had a lot of food. They didn’t have to worry about lacking in food and clothing. Every single day, they were living very well and didn’t have to worry about anything.
Is it fair?
People were not afraid of hardship.
What they were afraid of was comparison.
So when they saw that the other party was living well while they were struggling on the verge of death, a solution came to their head.
Rob them.
If they were to rob the people from Fan Yi kingdom (Now Fei Yang Kingdom), they would be able to get a lot of resources. In that way, they didn’t have to work so hard and worry that they would lack food in the winter.
It was very tempting.
What followed was a long lasting war, fighting for the sake of resources and their own lives. Because only in this way would it be possible for them to live better and didn’t have to worry about whether they could eat enough or not.
And the price they had to pay was the lives of the people who fought in the war.
Because it was impossible to win the war without sacrificing any soldier.
Through the long lasting war, the relationship between the northern tribe and the other people turned for the worst. Neither side was willing to compromise and they kept on trying to beat the other party.
In most of those battles, it would be the northern tribe rushing over to the kingdoms’ land and try to rob the cities. It was rare for the kingdoms to rush over to the north because there was not much resources there.
Why would they start a war?
They wouldn’t be able to get any advantage from them.
It was simply a war declared by the northern tribe.
And this war will not end anytime soon.
“After two years or so, the food is lacking again, so we start the war against Fan Yi Kingdom. But Fan Yi Kingdom is not so easy to deal with and General Yang is one of the most troublesome general,” San Han Yao explained.
Bu Hui nodded.
General Yang had been fighting against the northern tribe for so many years. And so far, the breakthrough point had to pick areas that was not guarded by General Yang.
But now…
“If we use the small cannon, we might be able to make our breakthrough point from him,” Bu Hui said excitedly.
“It wouldn’t be that easy.” San Han Yao chuckled.
He could see that what Bu Hui knew were all theories and none of them had been proven. At the very least, they didn’t dare to try because Bu Hui’s minds were a bit different from them.
The tactic that they put forward were all based on their experience over the years.
But the tactic that Bu Hui put forwards were things that he had known from his previous life. And he came from different era from the other transmigrators, which was the era of peace. Many of the tactics that he came up with were not applicable for them because of the difference in terrains, weapons, and many others.
Unfortunately, Bu Hui failed to realize this.
Thinking about his senior brother’s poor military talent, San Han Yao said, “You just have to follow me on the battlefield, Senior Brother.”
“I will.” Bu Hui nodded and then said, “And then I’ll prove to the world that I will become a powerful general!”
San Han Yao: “…”
He looked at his senior brother subtly and then didn’t say anything else.
Because he knew very well that with Bu Hui’s talent, it would be impossible for this man to become a general. If he truly wanted to become one, he might have to work hard for decades to hone his skills and other abilities.
Because at the rate he was learning, he couldn’t see t him as the future general or anything like that.
“Don’t mess around. If you’re not careful, you might end up paying with your lives.” I still need to rely on you to develop the various invention when your master becomes old.
The latter sentences were left unsaid as San Han Yao didn’t want to let Bu Hui knew his thoughts.
But even without that, it was enough.
“I know, I know, you’re as noisy as Master.” Bu Hui rolled his eyes. “I’ll go and check the various equipment….”
