The tremors from the Wanling Hall caught the attention of many people.
The Patriarch and Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad flew over and saw Sun Wukong sending out runes from his hands that flew onto the giant tree.
"Wukong, what's happening?"
The Patriarch asked.
"The Heavenly Dao inside the Jade Seal is retaliating,"
Sun Wukong protected the tree with runes to prevent it from collapsing.
But the power of the runes was not enough, so he pulled out a strand of hair, blew on it, and transformed it into a Giant Dragon that spiraled around the trunk.
"This way, it won't collapse for now."
Sun Wukong was somewhat solemn.
He had thought the Heavenly Dao inside the Jade Seal would just resist the Wanling Immortal Path, but he hadn't expected that the Jade Seal would want to destroy it.
Master Puti furrowed his brows, "Why is the Heavenly Dao only retaliating now?"
"Because the Wanling Immortal Path is about to take shape,"
Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad answered.
The Heavenly Dao represented by the Jade Seal didn't have the ability to think and wouldn't actively judge things.
But it had instincts, and as the Wanling Immortal Path was forming, the Heavenly Dao instinctively sensed it would harm them, thus seeking to destroy it.
"Let's help you stabilize it together,"
Both seasoned immortals understood the gravity of the situation and assisted Sun Wukong in stabilizing the tree with their spells.
"Quickly, separate the Jade Seal from the Immortal Path."
"Alright."
Sun Wukong's hands glowed and slowly merged into the trunk of the tree.
He grasped the Jade Seal, and then a mass of black qi spread from his wrist up to his arm.
"Great Saint!"
Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad suddenly exclaimed in shock and quickly warned, "Let go, that's a Curse!"
Sun Wukong immediately released his grip.
Agonizing pain hit Sun Wukong's mind, and wherever the black qi reached, his power rapidly drained, his hands feeling as though countless ants were gnawing and tearing at them.
He looked in shock at this black qi, then his body flashed with golden light, stopping the black qi from spreading.
"You can't use your bare hands to grab the Jade Seal, use an avatar instead!"
The Patriarch advised.
"Alright."
Sun Wukong nodded, then sat cross-legged as an avatar appeared in front of him and reached toward the tree.
The avatar grabbed the Jade Seal, and the black qi inside erupted, spreading all over the avatar's body.
"Keep it steady!"
The Patriarch urged as he stabilized the tree.
Sun Wukong poured his mana endlessly into the avatar, hoping to pull the Jade Seal out of the tree.
However, the Jade Seal fiercely resisted; separating it from the tree seemed impossible, as it almost felt like it would slip from his hand at any moment.
Moreover, Sun Wukong noticed some of the inscriptions inside the Jade Seal starting to tremble.
Those were the Heavenly Rules.
"How could this be?"
Sun Wukong was taken aback.
They were the Heavenly Rules agreed upon with the Jade Emperor and others, both constraints and protection, and if they disappeared, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Sun Wukong released all his mana, spreading the aura of the Heavenly Venerate without reservation, trying to stabilize those Heavenly Rules.
"What's going on?"
Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad and Master Puti vaguely sensed changes in the Jade Seal.
"Wukong, quickly stabilize the Heavenly Rules!"
The Patriarch sternly reminded him.
Sun Wukong's forehead furrowed tightly.
"No, that's not right..."
He gritted his teeth, "Someone is aiding the Jade Seal!"
The Jade Seal suddenly erupted with black qi, engulfing Sun Wukong's avatar.
The inscriptions of the Heavenly Rules blurred as if drenched in water.
Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad realized the four Heavenly Rules binding the Three Realms had disappeared.
How could the Heavenly Rules vanish?
The Heavenly Rules were established by three parties; even if a single Jade Seal retaliated, they shouldn't be shaken.
Unless...
"Amitabha,"
A voice suddenly arose.
The whole sky lit up.
It was as if a sun rose in the sky, its brilliance too dazzling to look at directly.
Through the dome upheld by the giant tree, Sun Wukong raised his head and saw clouds in the sky coalesce into a massive white hand.
The palm of this giant hand was pointed directly at the tree transformed by the Wanling Immortal Path.
"Brother,"
Ao Luan flew into the Wanling Hall.
"Ao Luan!"
Sun Wukong's voice was heavy.
Ao Luan looked over and saw his eyes burning with fury.
"Leave quickly!"
Sun Wukong said, "Now, evacuate everyone from Wanling City immediately!"
"Yes!"
Ao Luan immediately flew outside.
In the next moment, the giant hand in the sky erupted with even more intense white light, making the world brightly luminous.
Millions of beings in Wanling City were under this brilliant light.
The giant hand descended with a roaring wind, its edges seemingly ablaze.
The intense light shone on the ground, making it almost impossible for the demons to open their eyes, let alone see the scene in the sky clearly.
"Go!"
Sun Wukong sent out countless avatars, each shining with golden runes, charging toward the giant hand.
In the sky, numerous avatars joined into a piece, with golden light flowing, forming a sea of golden light that covered the sky above Wanling City.
The giant hand swiftly descended.
In an instant, the giant hand collided with the sea of light!
A deafening, earth-shattering crash tore through the eardrums of the people in Wanling City.
After an ultimate silence, they found the white giant hand had been blocked by the sea of light.
"Everyone, leave Wanling City immediately!"
Ao Luan urgently flew in the sky, using sound notes to relay the message throughout the streets and alleys.
People immediately began to fly out of the city.
Some ran with horror-stricken eyes cast skyward.
After another collision, the giant hand and the sea of light transformed into flames, shooting everywhere.
When the flames dissipated, red clouds appeared in the sky.
Those red clouds gradually took a human shape, forming a giant monk with rings of Buddha Light shining behind his head, utterly sacred.
No one failed to recognize him.
"Tathāgata, the hundred-year term has not yet ended, and you already want to intervene?"
Sun Wukong's voice echoed in the sky.
"Cease, Sun Wukong,"
said Tathāgata, his voice resonating far and wide.
"The Wanling Immortal Path you created defies the Heavenly Dao, threatening the essence and cannot continue."
"Why not?"
Sun Wukong sneered, "Is this Heavenly Dao to be controlled by you alone?"
"I observe the Wanling Country and foresee that if everyone becomes immortal, heart demons will run rampant and greed will flood everywhere,"
Tathāgata said, "Stop now, let me destroy this tree, and it's not too late."
"I refuse."
Sun Wukong rejected.
"You truly are..."
Tathāgata shook his head and extended his left hand, "Obstinately persistent in going about things the wrong way!"
He knew Sun Wukong would not agree and was already prepared.
A spot of light blossomed in his palm, then rapidly expanded, the light filling the entire sky.
In the blink of an eye, a magnificent city of gold and jade appeared in the sky, as vast as Wanling City, with suspended roads forming complex patterns interwoven among them, and endless gold-tiled temples.
"Palm Buddha Country,"
Sun Wukong gazed at that city shrouded in Buddha Light, his eyes narrowing.
Immediately, countless powerful beams of Buddha Light descended.
"Tathāgata, you're too bullying!"
Sun Wukong shouted angrily, "Stop them!"
Across Wanling City, hundreds of beams of Immortal Light shot up from the ground, rushing toward the Buddha Light in the sky.
