Stepping through the doorway, Sun Wukong entered a space wreathed in cloud and fog.
This was an immense space; he walked for a long time amidst the mist yet still could not see its boundaries.
"How is such a place hidden underground?"
Sun Wukong wondered as he delved deeper and deeper; not a blade of grass or tree could be seen, yet the scents of flowers and fruits lingered.
These fragrances were concealed within the fog, uniquely tantalizing, without equal.
After perhaps the time it took three incense sticks to burn, Sun Wukong stepped through layers of fog and entered a radiant Langhuan Blessed Land.
Though still devoid of flora, the Blessed Land hosted stone stalagmites, stone flowers, and stone trees, all glowing softly as if they were real plants.
At the heart of the Blessed Land stood a towering stone pillar reaching for the heavens, hundreds of feet tall, its entire form dazzling with Immortal Light, exuding a vast and boundless aura.
"Is it you?"
Sun Wukong took to the air, landing on its base.
The base of the stone pillar, larger even than Yunxiao City, was carved from an unknown type of white jade, adorned with various unknown Demon Beast totems, lifelike and solemn.
Sun Wukong approached the stone pillar: "You are the source of the Spiritual Energy."
Yet before he could draw near to the pillar, an invisible wall prevented his advance.
A wall of energy had stopped him.
Sun Wukong slightly furrowed his brow, took out the Jade Seal again, and shone its light upon the stone pillar.
The stone pillar trembled, a thunderous reverberation echoing on and on, but the wall of energy remained in place.
On the contrary, Sun Wukong's Jade Seal suddenly emitted a radiant light that spanned ten thousand zhang, slipping from his grasp and floating midair, a beam of light connecting it to the stone pillar.
Immortal Text that recorded the Heavenly Dao poured forth from the Jade Seal, traveling along the beam toward the stone pillar.
Inside the stone pillar, Immortal Talismans blossomed forth, soaring out to envelop the Jade Seal.
"This is..."
Sun Wukong watched intently the exchange between the two and realized that this stone pillar was far from as simple as he had thought.
The Jade Seal was in resonance with it.
Immediately, Sun Wukong sat down cross-legged, casting his consciousness into the Jade Seal.
His vision suddenly expanded tremendously, as if he could see the true form of the stone pillar.
It was not a mere pillar but a grand Huabiao.
The Huabiao, totem markers of tribal eras, once called pillars of observation, took form as towering columns.
On conventional Huabiao from the Mortal World, carvings typically feature coiling dragons and drifting clouds, but this particular Huabiao was entwined with unknown Demon Beast totems.
At the top of the Huabiao was a round plate for catching dew, which expanded the space; where there should be a Divine Beast called Heavenly Gaze, there was now nothing.
Through the Jade Seal, Sun Wukong felt the unparalleled power hidden within the Huabiao.
"This place is rich in Spiritual Energy, it's an excellent spot for Cultivation."
As Sun Wukong reflected, the force within the Huabiao flowed endlessly; it was the power of life, capable of creating myriad beings.
He calmed his mind and began to meditate and cultivate right there.
In a blink of half a month, Sun Wukong opened his eyes, a flame coursing within them.
"Truly a cultivation paradise."
He sighed lightly; nowhere in the Three Realms could compare to the richness of Spiritual Energy here.
Cultivating for half a month here was equivalent to a year of cultivation on the Kunlun Mountain.
Sun Wukong then departed from the Langhuan Blessed Land. Outside the doorway, Houtu was nowhere to be seen.
Without thinking, he knew that she must have been unable to resist sleep and had gone to rest.
Sun Wukong returned to Huaguo Mountain.
"Eminent Brother."
Immortal Zhenyuan sought him out the moment he arrived: "Look at what I've created."
He tugged Sun Wukong toward Flower Valley, pointing towards a small piece of a Spiritual Network Barrier, and said, "Look at it."
Upon inspection, Sun Wukong saw that the small Barrier was translucent and natural-looking, with the flow of Spiritual Energy glistening with a silver radiance.
"Sweet dew."
He was slightly surprised, "How did you attach it to the Spiritual Network?"
"More accurately, it's attached to a node."
Immortal Zhenyuan stroked his beard.
"I was thinking, if we integrate sweet dew with the Wanling Net, we could reconstruct the barriers from beyond our world."
Immortal Zhenyuan proposed, "We could start experimenting with some cities, no need for thirty years' time."
Sun Wukong nodded: "I'll make the arrangements."
He then inquired about the others, only to learn that there were already many ideas regarding sweet dew's use on Huaguo Mountain.
The raw materials produced by sweet dew in combination with the Mother-Child River's waters could lead to numerous possibilities.
"Defending against the great calamity is just around the corner."
Immortal Zhenyuan stated.
All across the Four Great Continents, the immense potential of sweet dew was recognized, and with a solution to the great calamity at hand, people were immersed in joy.
Everything was going smoothly, all but Nezha.
Shortly after Sun Wukong returned, he heard that Nezha was pursuing Lingji Bodhisattva everywhere.
"What's wrong with him?"
Sun Wukong asked the Long Armed Ape Monkey.
"Lingji Bodhisattva's misfortune comes from his mouth."
The Long Armed Ape Monkey answered.
Nezha had enjoyed a month of widespread attention, but people quickly shifted their gaze away from him.
Compared to him, Heavenly King Li seemed to be more of a hot topic.
At first, people only talked about how Heavenly King Li had given birth to a lotus root immortal until Lingji Bodhisattva said some things.
"What did Lingji say?"
Sun Wukong asked with a frown.
"Nothing much."
The Long Armed Ape Monkey replied, "He said that compared to lotus roots, Heavenly King Li prefers gold and wood."
And then Heavenly King Li flared up.
