It was none other than Majestria, radiating divine light that made even the sun squint, hands planted firmly on her hips, wearing a look that could shame mountains—and especially Finn.
Raising a single finger, she pinched the air as if it were the last straw. "I am this close to smiting you all down to nothing! I am so tired of being ignored and treated like I don't exist!" She jabbed a finger toward the monstrous thing. "And you—I'll make sure you cease to exist."
Before she could continue, the horde surged forward with a collective scream, tumbling over one another in chaos.
Clenching her fist, grinding her teeth, Majestria snarled like a rabid dog. This interruption? The final straw.
"I've had it with you all!" Her fist began to glow, brighter than before—so bright it made Finn squint.
She strode forward, full fury unleashed, heading straight toward the horde. But the direction? Finn. And given her current mood, that was terrifying for him.
"Come on, Majestria! Let's calm down! I didn't do anything wrong!" Finn waved his hands frantically.
Not a single word. She didn't even blink. She just kept coming, silent and relentless, making Finn sweat bullets like a kid facing his mom after a week of skipped chores.
She passed him, a sigh of relief escaping his lips… until Finn felt a firm grip on his arm.
"Hey, wait—!"
Now being dragged by his goddess, Finn flailed and babbled, trying to reason with her while dreading what she might do next.
She strode past soldiers and adventurers alike, finally halting before the approaching horde. With a quick, almost imperceptible toss, he landed Finn by her side.
A blazing, radiant goddess… and a dirty, panicked bum of a man in a slightly-too-cool white wizard hat.
They stood side by side as the slime horde lurched toward them, collapsing over one another like rabid toddlers in a Black Friday sale—only these toddlers wanted everyone dead.
Finn gulped loudly and side-eyed Majestria. "Why are we ahead of everyone..?"
She smirked, pure evil glinting in her eyes. "Because you will be fighting them."
His eyes bulged. "What—"
"So go fight them." She tilted her head. "What's the problem?"
"You can't be serious! I can't fight that! Besides—" He pointed at the giant creature's neck, at the gaping wound. "Someone needs to get in there and destroy whatever's inside!"
"So you refuse?" Her tone dropped ice-cold.
Finn frowned hard. "Yeah… I shouldn't really be fighting those things or you. I should focus on—"
A warm, glowing hand clamped onto his shoulder. The filth covering him instantly dissolved under her touch. He froze, horrified. That's how she stayed so clean? This terrifying divine Clorox wipe magic?
"So you are rejecting me?" she whispered.
"Um, well, not like—yeah..?"
Before Finn could babble further, a glob of slime shot through the air like squid ink and splattered across Majestria's face with a wet splat.
She froze. Slowly, her hand touched her cheek. Silent. Too silent.
Meanwhile, the slime beast that fired the shot bolted toward them at terrifying speed.
"Oh my god!" Finn flailed, stretching his arm to trip it—only for Majestria to smack his hand down without even looking.
He whipped his head toward her, sweat pouring. "M-Majestria..?"
No response. Dead quiet.
"Majestria, it's moving really fast!"
Still nothing.
"MAJESTRIA!"
The distance closed in a blink. The creature launched itself like a deranged, slime-coated kangaroo, jaws gaping wide.
Finn screamed at the top of his lungs, voice cracking like a prepubescent choir boy—then suddenly BOOM.
The thing exploded midair. Just—gone.
Chunks of goo rained down, one fat glob smacking Finn right in the face. He blinked rapidly, rubbed his eyes. Nope. Still real.
He glanced down at the twitching remains of the monster's leg. His heart dropped, then fury bubbled up.
'Where the hell was she this entire time when we actually needed help?!'
But more of the smaller creatures were already charging, and the colossal one was dragging its scaled body up from the pit again. It was both of them against the nightmare horde.
Well… technically just him. With Majestria, you could never be sure.
"Finn…" Her voice was low, cold, eyes locked on the enemy. "Remember when you rejected me earlier? When you refused to let me ride you? When you didn't even help me after I was attacked?"
Finn's stomach dropped. 'Oh hell no. If someone starts bringing up the past like this, they're about to kill you!'
He forced a shaky smile. "Um… I don't know what you mean, Majestria…"
Her tone suddenly brightened, almost sweet. "I think I figured something out, Finn."
"…Y-yeah? What's that?"
"You wanted to reach its neck, right?"
"Uh… yeah..?"
"Why don't you go to it yourself?"
Finn froze. "What do you mean..?"
Her lips curled into a smile that was somehow both angelic and satanic. "Exactly what it sounds like."
"What…"
Before Finn could get another word out, Majestria's hands clamped around his body like a vice.
"Wha—HEY! Wait a sec—!"
With zero effort, she lifted him clean off the ground. Finn flailed instantly, squirming and kicking like a toddler being dragged to school. His hat nearly fell off.
"Majestria, PLEASE—put me down! I'm not built for this, I swear!"
Her eyes narrowed. "Funny… that's exactly what I said to you earlier, and you ignored me."
"Oh come on, you can't be serious—"
Too late.
With the casual cruelty of someone punting trash into a dumpster, she hurled Finn through the air.
"WAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH—!!!" His scream cracked in twelve different octaves as his arms and legs pinwheeled helplessly.
He flew across the battlefield like the world's least aerodynamic football, tears streaming, hat wobbling, voice breaking into ugly sobs.
"OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDD—!"
The good news? He was heading directly for the monster's exposed throat. The bad news? He was heading directly for the monster's exposed throat…
Flying at high speeds, wind stinging his cheeks—he looked ridiculous, like a squirrel with its mouth full of nuts. Before long he slammed right into the creature's throat
