SSS-Rank Engineer: Only I Can Create Legendary Weapons

Chapter 95: 95—Rank 4 Spiritmancer

The small room at the top of the temple grew quiet, the heavy thuds and sparks of flames dancing in the air faded.

Percy gazed down at Sebas, wondering how to tear the man apart.

The gravity magic currently holding Sebas down seemed to be very potent against people made of sand.

George observed the invisible force holding Sebas down with curiosity.

"Is this similar to repulsion magic?" George asked, resting his axe against the ground.

That was the name given to this gravity magic, repulsion or attraction. This world only had a vague understanding of gravity as the human connection to the earth.

"Yes, but I can use it directly where Sebas is standing," Percy explained. "I multiplied his attraction to the earth."

Golems formed from the walls, blocky, human-shaped stone creatures that were all under Percy's control.

Griffon, who had just been watching Percy with an even expression, dodged with blinding speed, zipping between golems as his white wings flashed.

The Whitemoon leader's coy smile returned as he landed behind Percy in an instant. He grabbed the boy's neck. He snapped the little neck like a stone statue.

But the golems and the gravity force holding Sebas down didn't cease. With his neck snapped backward, Percy looked up to Griffon with an eerie smile.

Another gravity field formed and forced Griffon down to his knees, also crushing the stone golem Percy was using to be up here, but that didn't matter.

"Thank you for walking into my trap."

All the golems continued changing rapidly.

In less than a second, they all resembled Percy exactly. His golem selves were spread throughout the temple, massacring Whitemoon grunts and looking for Dina and her children.

His golems were surrounding Lethel here, not attacking yet because even as a golem he could still feel the heat radiating from the man.

One of the golems spoke with Percy's voice to the injured Thalos, heart twisted by the terrible burns on his father's back.

"Dad, can you still fight? Cause I can handle this guy by myself."

"You can't," Lethel said simply. "If you think having control of this tower makes you my match, then you're sorely mistaken."

Percy was simultaneously across the room facing Griffon and Sebas, but also in all golems.

Every single golem smiled wickedly.

"I'd be happy to test tha—"

Before he could even finish the sentence, Lethel's fingers flicked forward and the world turned white as every single golem was struck by a fire lance. They all fell to the ground in smoking piles of rubble.

But they simply sank into the floor and then reformed, thousands of Percys crawled from the walls and floors, pointing at Lethel.

"Crucible of destiny, painful and with dread. Unleash your wrath, destroy my enemy."

Enough fire to burn a small town ignited in the room, like a thousand red stars all surrounding Lethel, who simply smirked.

All the fireballs stopped just a few inches from Lethel before being reversed back towards the golems.

BOOM!

The room erupted into multiple explosions.

This was just a distraction meant to cover Thalos' movements, who appeared a step behind Lethel with his katana drawn. Before his sword pierced through Lethel, the man disappeared and reappeared a couple of meters away.

But Percy was watching, his eyes were the walls, and he could cast from anywhere.

"Drive of the world, swift and free, rush the gale, surge through me."

Funnels of wind appeared from multiple angles, carrying the ash and dust scattered around the room into the air. Thalos didn't need to ask; he zipped through the [Tailwind] tunnels using their speed to get around Lethel, who shot flashes of white flame around.

Just as Thalos arrived behind their opponent, Percy used his final trick.

All the fire in the room was extinguished in an instant as he created high gravity pockets.

Lethel had nowhere to fire-shift to.

A horde of golems erupted from the walls, further surrounding Lethel, their stone hands reaching for his neck.

"Impudent," Lethel hissed.

The air exploded around him, waves of heat rolled off Lethel like he was the center of the sun.

All the golems threw themselves in front of Thalos, giving him time to escape the blast radius.

When the dust and smoke cleared, Lethel was standing at the epicenter of charred, cracked stone with a giant spirit floating over his shoulder.

No attack had managed to crack the floor before now.

But just summoning this spirit came with enough heat to turn humans to ash if they got too close.

The spirit was a giant minotaur made of flames, its horns and the two spikes on its elbows glowed especially white-hot. Lethel's form cast deep shadows into the floor; his scraggly beard and brown hair swaying in the burning air.

Even looking at him was blinding. A cold smile etched itself onto his face.

"It's been a while, Cerenus," he said to the fiery minotaur.

"Do you understand now, Perseus? You can't defeat me with just this power."

All of the Percy golems nodded, an excited smile on their faces, despite most of them being burned black by the heat.

"Let's change the battlefield a little."

With a simple thought, the floor in the room disappeared. There was a moment where they all hung in the air before they started falling.

Hugo used his wind magic to propel himself to the side, grabbing George as he flew. Sebas and Griffon fell even faster due to the high gravity on their positions.

The wind rushed over Thalos's skin, soothing the burned edges. He focused his mind on Lethel, who fell casually, arms stretched out to attack.

Percy tried to increase gravity on Lethel's location, but he sensed the change coming and fired out a lightning-quick flash of white flame that he then fire-shifted to.

One of the golems was holding on to Thalos as they fell through the hollow center of the temple, speaking,

"I'm stronger at the bottom, more golems and earth attacks. I'll corner him, then create a path for you to finish him off."

Thalos simply nodded, grey eyes laser-focused on Lethel. It wasn't over till they could kill him.
