Chef at the University Canteen

Chapter 215: Go Home Early and Sleep—Anything Can Happen in Your Dreams

A high-speed train from Shanghai to Jiangzhou.

After hanging up the phone, Liu Xining breathed a sigh of relief. Although there was still a hint of worry between her brows, she felt much lighter at heart.

She had previously called her school junior Jiang Yu to ask for his help. Not only did Jiang Yu not refuse, but he also comforted her, saying everything would be okay.

For some reason, she felt a bit touched.

Speaking of which, although Liu Xining and Jiang Yu had the relationship of senior and junior, in reality, there was not much connection between them.

By the time Jiang Yu entered Jiang University, she had long left the school, plunging into the entertainment industry without hesitation to pursue her dreams.

If it wasn't for last year, when she had a whim to return to her alma mater to support the freshman welcome party, they might not have had any chance to interact at all, let alone taste those delicious dishes Jiang Yu cooked that she still savors to this day.

However, even though they had only met once, when she called him for help, he agreed without hesitation.

How could she not be moved?

Besides being moved, Liu Xining felt a bit guilty inside.

She had heard from many doctors how difficult Chenchen's depression was to treat, yet in such a situation, she still placed her hope in Jiang Yu...

Her junior might also feel a lot of pressure, right?

But Liu Xining really had no other options. To say she placed her hope in Jiang Yu was more like grasping at any straw available.

She really couldn't just watch Chenchen sink into despair day by day, or worse, perish...

As she was thinking about these things, a young woman sitting next to her handed Liu Xining a bottle of mineral water and said:

"Sister Ning, don't keep frowning, it would be awful if you really got wrinkles! Here, have a sip of water to relax!"

This petite, fashionably dressed woman had her face completely concealed by a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a mask, making it impossible to see her features.

After handing Liu Xining a bottle of water, she looked around to ensure no one was paying attention, opened her own bottle, lifted her mask to take a sip, and quickly put it back on. She then turned and asked,

"Sister Ning, did our junior agree to help?"

"Yes, he agreed."

Liu Xining nodded and glanced at Pan Jingchen, who was curled up asleep on the window seat, feeling slightly more at ease. She turned back and said,

"Once we arrive, we'll see if we can rent a house near Jiang University. Then Chenchen can stay there, and Xiaojiang will take care of her meals every day."

As she spoke, she turned to look at a man and a woman sitting behind, instructing them, "Chenchen will be in your care then."

The man and woman were Pan Jingchen's assistants and had been with her for many years, naturally understanding the importance of the matter. Upon hearing Liu Xining's words, they nodded repeatedly, saying:

"Rest assured, Sister Ning, without Sister Chen, there would be no us today. We will definitely take good care of Sister Chen!"

Liu Xining nodded and said, "Yes, you don't have to worry too much. Once Chenchen gets better, she will not forget your help."

Chenchen's current situation was very bad. If Liu Xining didn't give these two assistants some hope and confidence, she really feared they would suddenly "switch jobs" and leave her. Though finding someone to take care of Chenchen wasn't difficult, she didn't want to complicate matters at such a time.

After instructing the two assistants, Liu Xining sat back and planned to close her eyes and rest a bit.

Ever since knowing about Pan Jingchen's illness, she hadn't gotten a proper rest, so much so that her complexion was much poorer than before.

Just as she closed her eyes, the girl with a mask couldn't help but nudge her arm and softly ask:

"Sister Ning, what time will we arrive in Jiangzhou?"

"We'll arrive by six o'clock."

With her eyes still closed, Liu Xining said lightly,

"Once we get off the high-speed train, we'll take a cab to Jiang University, settle down, and then meet Xiaojiang."

"Oh."

The young woman pursed her lips, and finally couldn't help letting her mouth curl up slightly, pretending to clear her throat calmly before continuing,

"Then, shall we have dinner at the Seventh Dining Hall?"

"Hmm."

Liu Xining nodded slightly but quickly reacted, opened her eyes to glance at the girl, and popped out two words,

"Foodie!"

This young woman, with her face completely concealed by sunglasses and a mask, was none other than Xie Siqi, who had accompanied Liu Xining back to Jiang University to sing last year.

Since tasting the delicious dishes at the Seventh Dining Hall, Xie Siqi has been longing to eat there again.

Unfortunately, around the end and beginning of the year, it was the busiest time for celebrities like them, constantly engaged in fan meetings or TV shows, with no time to rest, let alone go to Jiangzhou to satisfy her cravings.

Back then, Xie Siqi's biggest regret was not being well-acquainted with Jiang Yu.

If they were familiar, it would have been great. Even if she didn't have time to visit him, she could have asked him to make the delicious food and send it to her!
