Chapter 0371: She is My Fiancée

"Hello, my name is Shadow Immortal Dance."

When the stunning, goddess-like woman introduced herself, her beautiful face blossoming like a hundred flowers, even Chen Fei was slightly taken aback.

"So it's you," he thought, but then a smile touched his lips. He never expected to encounter her on his trip to the north. She was the legendary First Beauty of the Martial Forest, whose fame was almost mythical—the Shadow Immortal Dance. She certainly lived up to the adoration piled on her by countless infatuated men.

"May I sit here?" she asked again, the same question as before. Her eyes, as clear as a flowing stream, gazed into Chen Fei's, which were as black and translucent as polished obsidian.

"Of course… if you wish," Chen Fei replied with a smile, no longer refusing.

After all, every gentleman is drawn to a graceful lady, let alone the most renowned beauty in the entire Martial Forest sitting right before him. Even though he had no romantic intentions himself, it was still hard to resist her presence.

Chen Fei looked up, his obsidian-dark eyes quietly appraising her tall figure, stunning features, the spirited air her short hair gave her, and her slightly cute, prominent canines. A faint smile played on his lips.

Looks like my luck on this trip north isn't so bad.

"Xianwu, you're making things rather difficult for me."

Just then, a somewhat helpless voice cut in. A frail, scholarly-looking man appeared in Chen Fei's line of sight. He walked slowly down the central aisle of the carriage, adjusting the glasses on the bridge of his nose. His eyes were clear, yet they held an inexplicable, intimidating quality. His gaze landed on Chen Fei as he spoke with a hint of apology, "Sir, I must apologize… but could you please leave this carriage?"

Although he looked scholarly, he possessed an indescribable aura—cold and bone-chilling.

It felt like being silently watched by a snake coiled in the grass. So eerie.

"Oh? And why should I listen to you?" Chen Fei's eyes twinkled with amusement. He glanced at the beautiful woman before him, then looked up at the scholarly man who wanted him to leave, and said with a faint smile.

"Why? Because I've bought every ticket for this carriage. Is that reason enough?" the scholarly man replied slowly, his eyes flickering with a cold light.

"Oh, I see. In that case, I'm in the wrong. My apologies…"

Chen Fei smiled sheepishly and slowly stood up. But then, right under the scholarly man's gaze, he did something that stunned the man and made his eyes narrow.

He reached out and took the beautiful woman's slender, fair hand, which she had rested on the table. Grinning, he said, "Xianwu, it seems we have to find another carriage. What do you think?"

Not only was the scholarly man taken aback, but even the expression on Shadow Immortal Dance's exquisite face froze. Clearly, she had never imagined Chen Fei would do such a thing—grabbing her hand like that.

"...Sir, don't you think your actions are a provocation?" After a moment of stunned silence, the scholarly man's eerie eyes finally revealed a cold glare, his face growing stern.

HISS!

ROAR! ROAR!

Instantly, the faces of the two or three men in black turned cold and murderous. Their gazes, fixed on Chen Fei, were filled with ruthless ferocity. They even began to emit guttural, animalistic sounds that were exceptionally jarring in the empty carriage.

"Oh, a provocation? I don't think so." Yet Chen Fei seemed to ignore the piercing, inhuman roars. He continued to hold the hand of the First Beauty who haunted the dreams of the Martial Forest, tilted his head to look at the other man, and smirked.

"She is my fiancée," the scholarly man finally said, unable to suppress the iciness in his heart. His voice was flat and emotionless, but his gaze on Chen Fei was laced with detached, murderous intent.

"I am not your fiancée," Shadow Immortal Dance immediately retorted, shaking her head. Her denial was curt and merciless.

The scholarly man's face stiffened. He forced a calm expression and said lightly, "Xianwu, stop messing around. Your master has already agreed, so you are now my fiancée."

"Not even my master can force me to do something I don't want to. I don't like you, so it's impossible for me to become your fiancée," Shadow Immortal Dance said, her denial even more absolute this time, her tone like ice.

"Xianwu, you…"

Hearing this, even though the scholarly man tried to contain his anger, his expression couldn't help but darken. He truly hadn't expected this. After chasing her all the way from the Lingnan Mountains to Outer Mongolia, after putting on his best display of charm, character, patience, and his immense affection for her, he had still failed to touch her heart. It left him deeply disappointed, filled with a sense of defeat and humiliation.

"Dude, it looks like you don't know how to court a woman, huh? Since she doesn't even acknowledge being your fiancée, you might as well… step aside," Chen Fei's light laughter reached his ears, causing the man's sinister eyes to narrow abruptly as a chill spread from him.

"It seems you don't understand that trouble stems from a loose tongue, do you?" he said coldly, staring at Chen Fei, yet he surprisingly took a step back.

His voice then became frigid, filled with naked killing intent. "I detest the feeling of blood on my hands… but you insisted on pushing yourself off a cliff. Go on. Slaughter him."

He waved his hand, and the men in black closed in on Chen Fei with ferocious expressions.

ROAR!

HISS!

Perhaps they truly had lost their humanity. They couldn't speak or think, only howl like beasts with blood-red eyes and… kill.

One of the men in black let out a wolf-like howl as his hand visibly transformed into a furry, clawed appendage. His speed became incredible. Using the train seats for leverage, he leaped into the air, his claw plunging down with a cold gleam in a terrifying arc.

At the same time, the other two men made their move. Their bodies seemed to be instantly infused with massive power, bulging as matted, brown fur sprouted from their skin. Like enormous bears, they charged at Chen Fei from the left and right.

"Xianwu, I didn't want to kill anyone either, but…" The scholarly man showed no fear at this scene. Instead, a twisted, perverse smile spread across his face, the look of a creator admiring his own perfect handiwork.

But in the next moment, his smile froze. Disbelief filled his eyes.

BOOM!

He heard a deep, muffled explosion like a roaring fire, and unbelievably, the three men attacking Chen Fei were suddenly engulfed in raging flames.

"What is this…" Even Shadow Immortal Dance was shocked. She raised a hand to cover her parted lips in disbelief. She hadn't detected how the flames had appeared at all.

It was as if they appeared from thin air!

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Just then, three heavy thuds echoed in the carriage. It was the sound of the three men, now burned to a crisp, collapsing to the floor.

"You!"

Witnessing this, even with his background and status, the scholarly man was utterly astonished. He instinctively stumbled back several steps, staring at Chen Fei with profound dread. "You… you, who in the world are you…"

Before, Chen Fei had been an insignificant, overconfident fool in his eyes, someone he could crush with ease. But now… it was as if an ant had suddenly become an elephant, as if a housecat had revealed itself to be a fierce tiger, the king of all beasts. The shock in his heart was beyond words.

And to think, the three of them combined were qualified to challenge an Innate Ancient Martial Artist!

"You wanted to kill me?" Chen Fei narrowed his eyes and said something that made the man shudder.

Before the man could answer, Chen Fei continued as if talking to himself, "Actually, I think I should recognize you… You sent people to kill me before and caused trouble on my turf, didn't you?"

"Who are you? Why don't I remember ever seeing you?" Hearing Chen Fei's seemingly random words, the scholarly man's eyebrows twitched, and he asked with trepidation.

Chen Fei gave him a passing glance. "You don't remember seeing me? That makes sense. I haven't seen you either. But you should know of Northern Mountain, right?"

"Northern Mountain…" The scholarly man froze, then his expression changed drastically as he gasped in shock, drawing a sharp breath. "Could it be… you're Chen Fei!?" He finally understood what Chen Fei had meant.

He was talking about the laboratory incident!

Not only that, but the entire Martial Forest now knew that in North Mountain of Jiangnan, there was a young man who was monstrously powerful. He was an Innate Ancient Martial Artist in his twenties who had even killed Yuan Liegang of Huadao Fort—a martial artist at the Early Stage Peak of the Innate Realm.

Faced with such a person, someone akin to a young monster, even he—a genius who had reached the Qi Refining Fourth Layer at twenty-eight—had no grounds for arrogance. In fact, he felt a flicker of panic.

The difference in their power was simply too vast. And more importantly, they had a grudge.
