Drax led them first to the Adventurers' Guild, a massive building woven from stone and living wood. Inside, the air was cool and filled with quiet chatter. Fairies flitted lazily near the ceiling, glowing softly.
At the counter, Drax collected several forms and handed them to Mike and Elina.
"Academy registration," he explained. "Fill these out."
They did so quickly. After checking everything over, Drax submitted the documents to the guild staff, then returned a short while later.
"It's done," he said. "You're both officially registered for the Academy entrance."
Elina let out a small breath she didn't realize she was holding.
"You can take the entrance test one week from now," Drax continued. "Until then, you're free to prepare however you like."
Mike nodded, a faint smile forming."A week is plenty."
"So… is there a way I can get a fairy?" Mike asked.
Drax chuckled softly. "You can. And there's a special place for it."
He led Mike and Elina through the city, eventually stopping before a massive building that looked less like a structure and more like a living flower garden. Vines wrapped around white stone pillars, enormous blossoms bloomed along the walls, and glowing pollen drifted through the air like fireflies.
"This is the Elder Garden," Drax said with a smile.
As they stepped inside, Mike immediately felt it.
Dense. Pure. Natural mana.
Floating throughout the garden were fairies—many of them. Unlike the tiny, palm-sized sprites most people imagined, these were much larger. Most looked like small children, standing four to five years tall, with delicate wings and bodies made of light, leaves, petals, or crystal-like pollen.
"These are Elder Fairies," Drax explained. "If you can form a pact with one—passively or actively—you'll be able to use fairy magic. Healing, purification, nature amplification… even miracle-grade support spells."
Mike's eyes narrowed slightly. "Sounds too good to be easy."
"It is," Drax said bluntly. "Elder Fairies don't like humans. They usually only form contracts with high elves or pure-blood nature races."
Elina nodded quietly. "I've read about that…"
"They're extremely sensitive to intent," Drax continued. "Arrogance, greed, force—any of that, and they'll reject you instantly. Some might even curse you."
He glanced at Mike. "So be respectful. Don't demand. Let them decide."
Mike took a slow breath and nodded."Got it."
As they walked deeper into the garden, several fairies glanced their way. Some hovered curiously, while others turned away outright, their wings fluttering in clear disinterest.
"Try releasing your mana," Drax said quietly. "If any of them are interested, they'll come to you on their own."
Mike nodded and slowed his steps. He stood still, closed his eyes, and let his mana flow.
A gentle pressure spread outward from his body.
Golden-white mana poured from him in soft waves, calm yet commanding. It carried a strange depth—pure, refined, and tinged with something otherworldly. The mark of his class showed clearly now: domination-type mana, vast and heavy despite its gentle glow.
The air around him shimmered faintly.
A few fairies paused midair, their wings stuttering as they felt it. Some frowned in confusion. Others tilted their heads, clearly unsure how to react to a mana they had never encountered before.
Beside him, Elina took a breath and followed suit.
Emerald-green mana flowed from her body, warm and vibrant, filled with life. It felt like fresh leaves after rain, like roots sinking deep into fertile soil. Nature mana—pure, familiar, comforting.
This time, the reaction was immediate.
Several fairies brightened, their wings glowing as they drifted closer to Elina. Soft chiming sounds echoed as they circled her, curious and gentle.
Mike opened one eye and glanced sideways.
"…Figures," he muttered.
Drax smiled knowingly. "Nature recognizes its own."
Still, not all eyes were on Elina.
From deeper within the garden, one fairy lingered in the shadows of a massive flower—its petals shaped like crystal glass. It didn't move toward the emerald glow.
Instead… its gaze was fixed on the golden-white mana.
And slowly, cautiously, it took a step forward.
It was a small fairy with golden-white hair and delicate butterfly-like wings, white at the base and traced with intricate golden, flower-shaped patterns. A faint, warm glow surrounded its tiny body.
"I… I haven't seen anyone like you before," the fairy said softly.
Mike froze for a moment.
A male fairy?
That alone was rare. And judging by the pressure he felt—gentle but profound—this wasn't an ordinary fairy at all.
The fairy looked like a slightly chubby, adorable child, but Mike didn't dare treat it casually. The presence was unmistakable.
An Elder Fairy.
Mike slowly knelt down to lower himself to its height and offered a calm smile.
"My name is Mike," he said gently.
The fairy floated closer and reached out, holding Mike's finger with both of its tiny hands. Its grip was warm.
"You… you have the power of miracles?" the fairy asked, eyes shining with curiosity.
Mike blinked, then nodded.
"Um… my class is Tamer of Miracles."
The fairy's wings fluttered excitedly.
"Oh! I felt it!" it said happily. "Your mana feels… the same as mine. How do you have something like that? Humans aren't supposed to."
Mike gave a small shrug. "I guess… I got lucky."
The fairy laughed, a soft chiming sound like bells.
"My freinds call me Chimmy. My full name is Chim Chim," it said proudly.
Golden sparkles burst from its wings and gently rained down onto Mike's hand, soaking into his skin like warm sunlight.
A system window appeared.
[ Congratulations! You have formed a bond with an Elder Fairy of Golden Miracles ]
[ Miracle Fairy Magic unlocked ]
[ Golden Fairy Magic unlocked ]
Mike stared at the notification for a moment, then slowly clenched his fist as he felt a new kind of power settle into his mana core—gentle, radiant, and impossibly pure.
"It's nice to form a bond with you, Chim Chim," Mike said sincerely.
The fairy puffed up its chest.
"You can call me Chimmy. You are now my friend," it said proudly.
Mike chuckled. "Alright. I'll call you Chimmy."
Chimmy fluttered happily and then lightly landed on Mike's shoulder, sitting there as if it had always belonged.
"Okay, let's go then," Chimmy said, swinging its tiny legs. "I was bored here anyway. Others got contracts, but none of them had the power of miracles. The elves here are really… trash."
Mike nearly choked but wisely chose not to comment.
"My friend was also looking for a bond," Chimmy continued casually. "When she learn of you, she'll probably come too."
As he said that, Chimmy glanced toward Elina.
"Oh, a nature mage," Chimmy added, tilting his head. "That's good for a human."
