Awakening the Useless Class… But My Talents Are Broken?!

Chapter 82: Rank A II

It took Mike a few more hours to complete his remaining two monster extermination quests. After that, he headed straight to Aquafare City.

This was the city where the noble house that issued the sword-farming commission was located.

Mike arrived at a mansion-like estate and spoke to the guards at the entrance.

"I'm here to submit the weapons," Mike said.

The two guards, both Rank 3 powerhouses, looked at him carefully. One of them nodded.

"Show us the swords."

Mike took out both weapons—the water-element rapier and the lightning-element greatsword—and displayed them.

The guards examined the weapons closely, then looked back at Mike with strange expressions.

"…You really brought them, though the sword types..." one of them said.

"You may enter." The other guard said before the first one finished.

The gate opened, and one guard led Mike inside. They walked for more than ten minutes through the estate before reaching the main mansion.

At the entrance, Mike saw a middle-aged man waiting with two children, both around ten years old.

As Mike approached, the man smiled politely.

"You must be the one who completed the commission."

Mike nodded and took out the weapons. He handed the rapier to the girl and the greatsword to the boy.

The boy blinked, then frowned.

"Mister, I wanted the water one."

Only then did Mike understand why the guards had been giving him strange looks. He had brought a greatsword for a little girl and its bigger then her height.

Mike scratched his head awkwardly, wondering what he should do, just as the middle-aged man stepped forward.

"Thank you," the man said calmly, smiling as if he didn't mind at all.

Mike nodded back. A butler quickly stepped in, finalized the quest paperwork, and Mike was escorted out.

As he left, Mike glanced back and saw the little girl struggling to hold the greatsword, which was almost as tall as she was.

"Well… she'll need to train hard now," Mike thought.

The sight was oddly funny—but after seeing similar scenes countless times in anime, it didn't feel that strange.

Mike then returned to Lima City, where Shadow was already waiting. Through their connection, Mike quickly located him—he was sitting in an inn, calmly eating.

"I've completed all of mine," Shadow said.

Mike nodded, took the stamped quest papers from him, and headed straight to the Adventurer's Guild.

"You completed all of these… in just a few hours?" the receptionist asked, staring at the documents in disbelief. Still, she processed everything and soon handed him a new adventurer ID.

A-Rank.

Unlike the B rank badge this one had golden strips on it.

"Can I take the quest for the Abyssal Frost Cave now?" he asked.

The receptionist nodded and handed him a memory crystal.

"This contains the dungeon's location and entry data."

Mike accepted it and pressed it to his forehead. The information flowed into his mind instantly.

"Thank you," he said, returning the crystal.

With everything prepared, Mike turned to leave—now fully qualified to enter the Abyssal Frost Cave.

Since he didn't have much time, he simply purchased a teleportation scroll to the city nearest to the dungeon. The city was still at a safe distance from the Abyssal Frost Cave, but close enough to reach it quickly. The moment the teleportation activated, space twisted—and the next instant, Mike arrived at the city gate.

He ignored the city entirely and headed straight toward the cave.

It took him about half an hour to reach the entrance at full speed. When the massive structure finally came into view, he saw several rank 3 and rank 4 guards stationed outside, clearly on duty to monitor access to the dungeon as well kill anything that may stray out of it.

Mike showed his adventurer ID and was allowed to pass without delay. He stepped inside the massive black stone entrance, its surface carved with faint blue markings.

The moment he crossed the threshold, an intense cold rushed over him. However, thanks to his title, he didn't feel much resistance—at least not like the first time he had entered the Winter Island Dungeon.

Thanks to Apex Predator of the Sea title, he could now move freely in extreme cold environments, even without special ice-terrain equipment.

Just like Winter Island, this dungeon was filled with ice—but this was different.

This was abyssal ice, infused with darkness itself: a chilling fusion of shadow and ice-element energy.

"It's like the Black Desert… just colder. Bone-chillingly colder," Mike muttered as he looked around.

Visibility was poor because of the thick mist drifting through the cave, but that wasn't a problem for him. His enhanced senses plus title effect pierced through the haze easily. Beneath the ice, he could clearly see numerous monsters hiding in ambush, waiting for prey to step over them.

Mike focused his perception and activated appraisal on the nearest presence beneath the ice.

[ Abyssal Serpent ]

[ Level: 469 ]

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"Rank 4 dungeon, huh…" he said calmly. "No wonder the mobs here are even stronger."

Without wasting time, Mike released the Death Lords. A large number of undead poured out, spreading across the icy ground as Mike ordered them forward.

They marched ahead—and the moment one of them stepped over the serpent's position, the ice exploded.

In a flash, a massive body burst out from beneath the abyssal ice. A gigantic serpent shot upward, its jaws opening wide. Before anyone could react, it swallowed one of the Death Lords whole.

The connection snapped.

Mike felt it instantly.

One of his undead had died.

"…Did I make a mistake coming into a Rank 4 dungeon?" Mike muttered, shocked.

That undead wasn't weak—it was a Mythical Death Lord. And it had been killed in a single gulp, without even getting a chance to defend itself.

The serpent landed heavily on the ice, its dark scales covered in frost, eyes glowing with abyssal light.

Mike's expression changed.

"Kill it," he ordered coldly.

This time, the remaining Death Lords reacted instantly. Several of them moved forward together, raising their massive shields to block the serpent's next strike. Others began casting dark and death-element skills, surrounding the Abyssal Serpent from multiple sides.
