Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2884 Heaven's Fury

Chapter 2884 Heaven's Fury

Davis calmly awaited as the huge blackish-red lightning heavenly dragon opened its jaws wide and descended, appearing like it intended to swallow him whole.

Its serpent-like body twisted like a swirl as it plunged, blackish-red lightning sporadically emerging from its body, crackling with a dreadful might.

"…"

Davis raised his hand that held the Spear of Damnation, holding it with both his hands as reincarnation energy swirled around him. However, one could see him tremble ever so lightly.

Even Davis glanced at his own arms, wondering if it was excitement or the sheer aura of its humongous presence.

The three-hundred-meter-long heavenly lightning body descended, opening its jaws wide as it directly tried to swallow Davis in its wrathful body.

*WHZZZ!~*

"…!"

Great Ancestor Zenflame's eyes went wide in shock as he saw the Emperor of Death become engulfed inside the three-hundred-meter-long blackish-red lightning dragon. It gobbled him whole, shut its mouth with a booming sound, and trembled as its lightning crackled all over its body as though it was laughing.

It then wandered around aimlessly for a few seconds before directly shooting toward the dark clouds, seemingly having finished its meal.

"He… he died…?"

"There's not even a trace of his ashes left…?"

Hirona and Sierra's expressions twitched, not knowing what to feel.

They were glad that the menace was gone, but for him to have met an end like that was so underwhelming and unfair.

The heavens left him with no choice. His tribulation effortlessly killed him.

The heavens were truly harsh- no, completely merciless to a Divergent, and it was even more the case since he was proven to be an Anarchic Divergent with this Annihilation Immortal King Tribulation as of this moment.

Nonetheless, they couldn't help but think that perhaps, he knew this was going to happen and wanted to let them know that he, the Emperor of Death, would teach them a lesson even if it meant his death?

Were his thoughts so determined that he would forsake his life for his loved ones? If the rumors were true, then...?

They shook their heads, letting go of these complicated feelings.

"This can be said to be retribution for bullying the Blue Luan Clan, I guess." Sierra wryly smiled as she gazed at the aftermath.

"They didn't surrender. It's as the Emperor of Death said. It's their fault for not raising a white flag, and on the other hand, the Vermilion Bird Clan was the one who offended us, so why should we forgive them? This and that are unrelated."

Hirona shook her head at Sierra. The former was the one who went to war, and the latter was the one who finished it, sending the Vermilion Bird Clan hiding for their lives in a pocked realm while the Blue Luan Clan sought shelter in the Aurora Cloud Gate.

"Wait… why is it not reaching the clouds and dispersing…?"

"It stopped in mid-air for a while now…"

"It can't be…"

The three of them had their eyes wide again, unable to believe the scene they were looking at.

Suddenly, they could see the blackish-red lightning dragon's astral scales become cocooned in pure white light, gleaming with a sacred aura, unlike the shuddering buzz of the reddish-black heavenly lightning that left everyone feeling meek and suppressed.

"Life… energy…"

Their gazes shook, shock after shock making their very souls shudder.

"How- How can he have both life and death energy!? This is insane!"

Hirona and Sierra thought he had used some kind of life attribute source to fool them since the energy he used was very little but never did they stop to think or even had the time to think that his display of life energy was truly real.

"Then that spear he held… what is that…?"

Great Ancestor Zenflame felt his consciousness fade from the faint realization that his power was something else, something he had never seen in his life. He had only learned theories about it, only a level of laughing it off, but the fact that he was undoubtedly seeing one was proof that he couldn't deny, making him shudder from head to toe.

"…!"

Then to their horror, they saw the big reddish-black heavenly lightning dragon shrink bit by bit.

*RUMBLE!!!~*

"…"

Suddenly, all three immortal inheritors fell, dropping to the ground like flies.

Their eyes had rolled towards their backs, and they seemed to have lost consciousness, hitting the ground as they made three small craters form.

Even in the distance, the Fire Phoenix Clan or the people who were watching completely fainted, unable to wake up. Even the Grand Elders were the same, unable to even defend themselves against the furious will of the heavens.

But despite this overwhelming pressure descending from every corner of the world, Davis's gaze couldn't help but tremble as he looked at the shrinking reddish-black heavenly lightning dragon's body.

"Aa-a~ I never expected to obtain this kind of amount..."

His expression was that of a gourmet laying his eyes on a feast. There was more than enough for him and Eldia to munch on, making him unable to endure the thirst.

He could absorb this sumptuous meal right now and make himself stronger!

However, his hair began to flail heavily as the wind picked up. His expression turned from one of desire into a faint sneer. But then, his brows suddenly squinted, turning to look around.

Where have the Fire Phoenix Clan people gone?

Just as he had this question, he noticed them on the ground, looking like they had fallen from the air.

"What the…"

He turned to look at the skies, abruptly throwing his head up.

Dark clouds swirled, flashing with reddish-black heavenly lightning. It was the same as before, not really having changed much other than the winds that were picking up for his heavenly wind tribulation according to his knowledge, so why were they all knocked out unconscious from a thunderous roar from the heavens?

He was dumbfounded.

It was common that the heavens were furious at him all the time for no apparent reason, so he had experienced its thunderous pressure time and time again, not even flinching at it anymore. He had never fainted in front of its might, so why were the others who were stronger than him seem to have lost their consciousness?

They could be scared but knocked unconscious? How was that possible?

Davis squinted his brows, wondering what was going on when he suddenly moved.

*Puchi!~*

"Huh?"

A sound of disbelief could be heard as a white-robed immortal suddenly appeared in the place where Davis stood, turning to look towards the side as he raised silver his sword and pointed at him.

"Did you dodge my attack just now?" He scoffed, looking exasperated, "Woah, you're too strong, so strong that I'm afraid that I can't allow you to continue to live."

"It's we- we're afraid that we can't allow you to live." Corrected a red-robed immortal.

Davis squinted his eyes at these fellows as he looked at the two Immortal Kings as well as another Immortal King who appeared by their side. For them to not have fainted under this pressure, a faint recollection flashed past his mind before his lips couldn't help but curl as though he looked exasperated himself.

"Don't tell me you all are… Divergent Slayers…?"

"People call us Divergent Slayers, but we're truly known as..."

The white-robed Immortal King's lips curled, "Heaven's warriors."
