Chapter 3795: Sudden Change!

How were the twins connected? Through the Control Orb, of course! Celis and Kentucky were also connected to them through there, but they couldn’t do something like use Rean and Roan’s Element exchange. Sister Orb, as kind of the spirit of the Orb, could.

She never had a need for it, but she was literally at the crossroads between the twins’ connection. Besides, if there was someone who could use the twins’ elements as well as themselves, that was definitely Sister Orb... or the system, although the system doesn’t seem to have a will of its own to do such a thing.

In any case, Sister Orb immediately intercepted the Light and Dark Element that the twins were sending in her direction. What was attacking the system was pretty obvious: the Dark Purple Energy!

She directed Roan’s Dark Element to get rid of the Dark Purple Energy, while she used Rean’s Light Element to protect the rest. Of course, Roan’s Dark Element couldn’t damage the system even if Sister Orb didn’t use Rean’s Light Element. What she was protecting the system against was the aftermath of the Dark Purple Energy’s elimination.

Meanwhile, outside, the octahedron began to change. Several square-shaped blocks began to pull out of it, making the construction look full of holes. Literally millions of them came out.

"It’s inside!" Kentucky could clearly sense it. "Whatever it is that is connected to the ancient runes, it is inside!"

Roan narrowed his eyes. There were plenty of places to enter the Octahedron now. Each of the square-shaped blocks that came out of the construction was bigger than Kentucky himself, creating many gaps they could use.

But there was a problem. Just a second ago, they were assaulted by this thing’s Dark Purple Energy, and even their Celestial Soul System was suffering from it. If they entered that place, wouldn’t they be inundated by that energy? They might actually lose their system then!

Last but not least, even if they entered that place... so what? What exactly were they supposed to do there? The system said a direct connection with the corrupted system was found, but it didn’t say anything else after that.

According to the quest, the twins had to use the corrupted system to open new abilities for their own system. Should they try to absorb it? Or, to be more specific, should their Celestial Soul System try it? So far, it looked more like their system would be destroyed by the other system instead.

The twins and Kentucky observed the events unfold for the next few seconds. But then, Sister Orb’s voice echoed in their minds. [Ha! I did it! The system is free of the Dark Purple Energy now!]

As soon as she said that, the system itself began to talk.

*Pin!*

[Analysis of the Corrupt System’s Energy finished.]

[Quest Update: Enter the Octahedron and make direct contact with the core.]

[Time Limit: Five minutes and thirty-two seconds.]

Rean and Roan were taken aback. It had been a long time since the system gave them a time limit for a quest. However, this one was strange. The time limit given was very specific, so there was definitely a reason behind that.

"What now?" Rean and Kentucky asked Roan. At these moments, the final decision was almost always his.

Roan wasn’t certain, though. There were too many questions. However, looking around, Roan could see that those blocks that detached from the Octahedron were positioning themselves in a very specific way. Not only that, the Dark Purple Energy from the Octahedron was also connected to each of them. Roan was pretty sure this thing was charging up to do something, and his instincts told him that he definitely didn’t want to see what was going to happen when the time arrived.

"Fuck it! Kentucky, full speed ahead! Enter this pyramid or whatever and don’t hold back. We need to reach the core before the time is over!" Roan finally passed his order.

Kentucky nodded, and his body burned with white and dark flames as the wind element was pulled from inside the dimensional realm. Kentucky’s Spatial Powers gathered, and even his Time Power flowed through his surroundings. His Celestial Bloodline also activated, and Sky Energy filled his body.

*Flap!*

A single movement of Kentucky’s wings, and the space seemed to warp. Kentucky put so much power behind the flaps of his wings that Space almost broke apart, only failing to do so because the ancient runes once again prevented that from happening.

*Ziu!*

In an instant, Kentucky passed through one of the square-shaped openings, plunging into the Dark Purple Energy inside.

Sure enough, the energy immediately started to enter the twins and Kentucky’s bodies. This time, however, their own system was prepared.

*Pin!*

[Foreign system’s attempt to steal the Celestial Soul System’s Processing Power detected. Virus Type. Updating countermeasures. Vaccine added to the Celestial Soul System’s Control Orb. Spreading the Vaccine to all individuals connected to the System.]

Rean, Roan, and even Kentucky immediately felt a new type of energy running through their bodies, one that felt very similar to the twins’ Dark and Light Element when used together, but somewhat different. It had no power whatsoever. It couldn’t be used to fight, comprehend laws, or anything else. It did one thing and one thing only: it nullified the Dark Purple Energy that entered the twins’ bodies!

"That’s more like it!" Roan nodded, satisfied. "The system used our Light and Dark Elements and adapted them for this vaccine thing. It is only useful against this Dark Purple Energy, but that’s exactly what we need!"

Kentucky was now more confident, flying as fast as he could. Now, inside the Octahedron, there was no need to try to open a spatial gate to tell which direction to go. He could clearly feel the right path.

Three minutes passed, and Kentucky flew through the energy as it got more and more concentrated. Still, the system prevented it from entering the twins’ and Kentucky’s bodies.

"There!" Kentucky shouted, seeing a place ahead where that Dark Purple Energy was many, many more times more concentrated. But, above all, it appeared to be inside another Octahedron, one that seemed to be made of glass. Of course, it was definitely some other material, but it didn’t matter now. No doubt that was the core, and the twins only had to make contact with it. There was plenty of time.

*Rumble!*

Things didn’t go as planned, though.

*uuuwuwuuuuu!*

All the Dark Purple Energy in the surroundings changed once again, this time taking a physical form! It was a perfect copy of the Octahedron... but with a mouth and many blocks connected together that seemed more like a bunch of tentacles.

"Sure enough, it was too easy to be true," Rean said with a bitter smile.

But then, a voice echoed from that thing.

*Need... to... save... need... protect... universe...*
