Death… And Me

Chapter 3855: No Questions Asked

Chapter 3855: No Questions Asked

Kentucky flew nonstop while Rean kept them hidden with his Light and Divine Sense Bending Skill. They only stopped two months later. If someone was after them and had some way of finding them, they would have been caught by now, but that did not happen. Of course, they wouldn’t go back to check.

They also didn’t use Spatial Gates since those would leave spatial distortions for a short while. It was better to not risk it.

"Alright, we will settle somewhere around this place. As always, don’t use your CDs to connect to the Werdlem Network, as the IDs attached to them are from other Universes. We need to find a place where we can acquire those things in this Universe first," Roan instructed.

"Then let me ask around," Kentucky quickly flew down. They were flying over a Demon Beast forest at the moment, and all he needed was to find a sentient one. He didn’t need to reveal himself, and just his Divine Energy pressure would be enough to scare the Demon Beast into telling him everything.

Soon, Kentucky spotted a Transition Realm Demon Beast that resembled a horned alligator, but with several additional segments. ’You there. Where can I find a settlement around these parts? Any kind will do!’

The poor Demon Beast felt like his bones were almost breaking just by the pressure alone, and he didn’t dare stay quiet. "Se-Senior, the nearest city is Enrel, which, at my level and speed, would take two weeks to arrive, going northeast from here. I-If it is any settlement, there are a few humanoid and spirit villages around this forest, the closest one is south of here, around five days away, also at my level and speed."

As soon as he finished his words, the pressure disappeared. The Demon Beast Spread his Divine Sense, but he couldn’t find anything. Still, he decided to stay silent and never talk to anyone about it. Whoever just contacted him wasn’t someone he could ever hope to match.

---

"Alright, it’s either Enrel or the village south of here. Which one do we choose?" Kentucky asked, excited to take a look.

Roan pondered a bit. They couldn’t simply appear in the city or the settlement and expect to be taken in. Their appearance had to be natural, to the point that no one would raise any questions. It was then that Roan had an idea, as a cold smile appeared on his face. "Let’s go to the city, but we won’t approach it. Instead, Kentucky, I want you to fly around it, keeping at least a few hundred kilometers of distance and at most two to three thousand. As long as there aren’t any weird rules in this Universe, there are bound to be a few of them around."

A few of them? A few of what? Rean, Celis, and Kentucky didn’t understand what Roan wanted, but they didn’t ask and left it up to him.

---

It might have taken that Demon Beast weeks to arrive in Enrel, but to Kentucky, that distance was covered in just a few hours, and he didn’t even fly fast. Of course, it didn’t matter at the moment. Once Kentucky found Enrel, he turned around and opened a few hundred kilometers of distance from it.

Finally, he began to fly around. Sometimes he was two or three thousand kilometers away, other times he was at the limit of what Roan asked him to not cross. Roan had his Divine Sense Spread all the time, obviously looking for something.

Finally, he found what he wanted.

There was a village that seemed to have around a few tens of thousands of residents in the middle of nowhere. This Rank A Universe wasn’t different in this regard from other Universes’ Divine Realms. Each city was ridiculously far away from the other. However, if you counted settlements like villages, small towns, tribes, camps, and the like, you would always have countless of them surrounding each city. Enrel wasn’t exactly a big city, but it wasn’t small either, so you had many of those to choose from around it.

Rean and Roan actually were born in such a place, a tribe in the surrounding area of a city. It’s just that they were born on a planet back in the Lisan Universe instead of a Divine Realm.

In any case, when you had so many of these kinds of settlements away from the protection and laws of a city, what else would you have? Local wars, killing, looting, and these kinds of small-scale battles, be it for resources or territory. But for Roan, none of that mattered. What he wanted was simple: he wanted a loser!

That’s precisely what he found. Right below them, there was a small battle involving just a few hundred experts, most in the Core and Soul Fusion Realm, with the strongest experts being simple Soul Transformation Realm ones.

"What do I do?" Kentucky asked, watching from above.

Roan observed, doing nothing. "We wait."

The battle lasted for a few hours, but one side was clearly stronger than the other, and a winner emerged quickly. As a result, the losers began to flee, bringing as much as they could with them away from their tribe. One tribe seemed to be called Jugligan, which was the loser. The other went by the name of Wengel, obviously the winner.

The Wengel Tribe entered the Jugligan Tribe and began to raid everything. But, above all, they began to take the residents who were left behind. Some were killed straight away, others were taken prisoners and would likely be sold as slaves.

Rean narrowed his eyes, but Roan glared at him, so Rean understood. "Yeah, yeah, yeah... I get it. I won’t do anything. I’m aware that neither side was made of saints. Had they won, they likely would have done the same without a second thought."

"Hmph!" Roan snorted but didn’t say anything else.

After a while, the Wengel Tribe’s experts began to make their way back to their own tribe.

"Follow them, Kentucky," Roan said, disappearing in the next moment.

Two days later, the Wengel Tribe’s experts returned triumphantly, adding the piles of resources to their treasure and throwing the prisoners into a special area reserved for them. There were even more prisoners there, obviously captured from other battles. Little did they know, but just a few kilometers above them, there were a bunch of experts who could wipe out their entire tribe with a single thought.

*Zush, zush, zush...*

Roan came out of the Dimensional Realm, bringing Zangeshu, Tanxan, and Foliana with him. His Divine Sense covered the Wengel Tribe, and he nodded, satisfied. "That will do. Here, take these pills. Idiot, help them with their transformation."

Rean took a look down and then back at Roan. He finally understood what Roan wanted to do. "So... are we going to become slaves?"

Roan nodded. "Don’t want questions asked? Simple, no one will care about a slave’s origins. Besides, we won’t be slaves for long; we just need that title momentarily. Now, do as I say."
