Death… And Me

Chapter 3877: For Life!

Chapter 3877: For Life!

"Y-You!" The guy didn’t move, knowing that his future in cultivation was in Folianan’s hands. "Di-Didn’t you flee?"

Foliana smiled in response. "Does it look like I did?"

The guy might be shocked by Foliana’s sudden appearance, but those watching the stream online didn’t think Foliana did anything out of this world. Sure, she was quite impressive. The way she made her way back and hid from her enemy to catch him with his guard down was great.

Yet, they knew most of it was because he was fully focused on defending against the Lightning Circular Saw Blades. She used the blasts of elements to return without being noticed. If anything, you could say that Foliana’s ability to read the battlefield was the most impressive part, not the sneaking part.

"So, first things first. I’m Foliana, a disciple of the Korko Sect and also a Legacy Disciple of Elder Zua," Foliana started with a relaxed smile. All the suffering she had in Roan’s hands truly paid off in moments like this. "Now, who are you?"

The guy didn’t want to talk, but he needed time to think of something, so he played along. "I’m Guerto, a member of the Janweng Organization in Ruhui Country."

"Nice to meet you, Guerto," Foliana nodded. "So, Guerto, how about you tell me how you got here so fast? I’m sure this maze has some trick, but I haven’t found it yet. You, on the other hand, most definitely found something."

Guerto snorted. "And why would I tell you? So you could finish me off straight away?" For now, all he could do was withhold the information until he came up with something.

*Prik...*

*Ugh!*

Yet, Foliana’s blade immediately came down, damaging the outer shell of Guerto’s Dantian. "Whoopsie! My hand slipped a bit."

If the twins’ group looked at her now, they would definitely see Roan’s shadow there.

Guerto couldn’t help but sweat coldly. "Wait! I’ll tell you! But you have to offer me some guarantee that you won’t destroy my Dantian!"

*Prik...*

*Arghhh!*

Foliana did no such thing, though. Instead, she pierced even further, and now Guerto’s cultivation began to leak, albeit very slowly. "You seem to be misunderstanding something here. There are no guarantees. It’s either you believe me, or you don’t. If you don’t comply, I will simply finish you here and then continue my search. I’m sure there are others I can ask later."

"Alright! Alright!" Guerto finally understood he didn’t have a choice. "It’s the gravitational shifts! Some of them aren’t there just to confuse you. Instead, they hide the Spatial Distortions that were left to bring you closer to the central area."

Foliana narrowed her eyes. She had been caught by a few of those gravitational shifts, but she didn’t feel any Spatial Distortions in them. "You said some of them, right? How do you know which one?"

"You don’t!" Guerto explained. "You just have to keep moving fast and triggering the shifts. They work just like the traps, being activated when they notice your Divine Energy. I’m speaking seriously! That’s how I ended up here. I found three of those gravitational shifts with Spatial Distortions, and each one I took obviously teleported me closer to the center. I do think I was also quite lucky so far."

Foliana wasn’t anywhere near as good as Roan at detecting lies, so she wasn’t certain whether Guerto was speaking the truth or not. Unfortunately, she couldn’t read his memories as that required the power of a cultivator at a much higher realm. Obviously, she couldn’t do that while everyone was looking.

Foliana then took out her CD with her free hand and called the twins’ group, explaining what she had just found out.

’The Gravitational Shifts?’ Roan repeated those words. ’Now that I think about it, Bugel did mention in his explanation that this maze had Spatial Distortions. That was obviously a clue we missed...’

’Alright, change of plans. Stop paying attention to the environment and just charge through the paths as fast as you can with your suppressed cultivations. Try to find as many Gravitational Shifts as possible. Let’s see if we can bump into the right Gravitational Shifts. We should be able to notice it straight away since we actually can feel Spatial Powers.’

Everyone accepted the orders. ’Understood!’

’What do I do with this guy?’ Foliana asked, her blade still stuck in the guy’s abdomen and slightly into his Dantian. ’Should I stay here and hold him until you confirm his words?’

’There is no need,’ Roan shook his head as he dashed forward. ’Even if he is lying, we will eventually find someone who knows the right way to move in this maze, but I think he is telling the truth. His explanation matches what we should expect. You can do whatever you want to him.’

Foliana heard Roan’s words and put her CD away. "Alright, I’ve heard you, but I wonder what would happen if I just let you go. You obviously will hold a grudge, so should I just finish you off now?"

"No! Wait!" Guerto was scared out of his mind. "Take my Spatial Ring! I have a Soul Binding Contract in there. Just write whatever terms you want, and I will sign it. That should give you enough peace of mind, right? Right?! You can also take everything I have in there. I’m not exactly the wealthiest, but I do have a good amount of resources that someone at your level would love to have."

"Hahaha!" Then, Foliana pulled out her blade, leisurely walking away right after. "I’m joking with you. Have a good day." It still felt like she was bullying a baby, so she couldn’t bring herself to finish the job.

Guerto immediately jumped back and took some distance from Foliana. He didn’t attack her, of course. His cultivation was leaking, so he had to focus on that first. Otherwise, he would lose months or even years of work. He was in no shape to fight, even against a cultivator in the Nascent Soul Realm. "Fuck! Are you making fun of me?!"

Foliana half turned her head, glancing at him with a sweet smile. "No, I just find you quite cute, that’s all."

Since Rean and Roan had to change her appearance, as a woman, she at least asked them to make it beautiful, and Rean definitely did a great job in that department!

Also, while her interrogation side was definitely Roan’s influence, those words right now were undoubtedly Rean’s playful side taking over.

Too bad Guerto didn’t know this. He was only sixteen years old, very young and full of hormones. Seeing Foliana’s pose and smile while saying that so bluntly quickly caused his face to grow red. "Th-That’s not-"

Then, Foliana dashed away, not giving Guerto the chance to say anything else, her words and image carved in the poor youngster’s mind for life.
