Chapter 3984: No Doubt
Now that Kentucky made his way back to the side where the experts were arriving, he began to find one or another group. Fortunately, it was exactly as they predicted. Since they looked like a bunch of Space-Time Realm experts, it simply wasn’t worth attacking them.
As a result, they arrived at the center of the Future Realm in just a single day, now that they didn’t need to suppress their cultivations, and that was pretty slow by Kentucky’s standards.
"How about we separate here?" Rean asked, bringing out another two identical clockwork devices to his own. He had made three of them, just in case something happened to the first or even the second. "They are still not working, but perhaps they will if we get close to the Chronoblade Serpent. The Chronoblade Serpent is bound to be made of many Time Plates, so it should forcefully pull the device’s needle in its direction."
Roan took one of them. "Better than nothing. Foliana, you come with me. Tanxan will go with Rean. Celis and Kentucky will carry the third one."
Then, they separated, flying in three different directions but trying to stay close to the center of the Future Realm. They simply didn’t have any better ideas to find the serpent.
Unfortunately, they spent five days flying around and trying to find clues for nothing. Even Sister Orb couldn’t do anything since the Chronoblade Serpent wasn’t related to the system.
The only thing that happened during that time was that they were attacked. Since they separated into three duos, some stronger groups, especially those with Divinity Realm experts, thought they would be easy targets.
Well, they were wrong. In the end, those who tried to attack couldn’t even catch up to any of the three duos, especially Kentucky and Celis. They were simply not on the same level.
After a week, they could only give up and gather again, disappointed. At least that one was easy to do, as they could simply enter the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm and come out of it by the others’ sides.
"What now?" Kentucky asked, their group standing on the top of a hill.
Rean scratched the back of his head, taking his CD out. "I didn’t want to call senior Laiana, but I guess that’s our only choice now. Maybe she knows some other way to find Xyrath."
They gathered around Rean as he made the call.
"Wait, didn’t that guy say that it would be hard to talk since the time difference was too big?" Kentucky remembered the man they met who marked their names down. He did say something like that.
"Oh, don’t worry," Rean smiled. "I can manipulate the way the conversation data is fed through the network in our calls. It’s just that we will have to wait a minute or so to receive Laiana’s answers. Still, we will hear her voice normally."
"Oh!" Kentucky was happy to hear that. "Then go for it."
Rean quickly made the call. Of course, the one who answered was actually Yuan since Laiana didn’t have a Werdlem ID herself. Yuan had to leave whatever he was doing behind, swimming straight to the location where Laiana was recovering. Well, due to the time discrepancy, the twins’ group waited over a day in that accelerated time environment for Yuan to get to Laiana.
-What do you mean by there are time plates everywhere?- Laiana asked, confused.
Rean quickly shared his story with her. "And that’s about it. The clockwork-like devices you taught me how to build keep pointing in all directions. We thought we might find something around the central area of the Future Realm, but so far, nothing. That’s why I’m calling you."
-That doesn’t make sense. Xyrath would never let his Time Plates floating around like this. They are the source of his power over the various possible futures.-
Kentucky had a doubt. "Senior Laiana, would it be possible for Xyrath to hide inside one of those possible futures, even if they aren’t real? After all, he can still use those possible futures to alter his own branch of time, can’t he? The Future Realm is proof of that. The one place we haven’t tried to look was inside those Time Plates since, well, we don’t know if there is a way to enter any of them."
-I can’t say I know everything about Xyrath’s power, but I find that very hard to believe,- Laiana explained. -Xyrath can manipulate those possible futures and bring their results into our branch of time, but their effect is limited, like the stable laws inside the Future Realm, even though its time is accelerated.-
She continued. -However, a being of his status would cause huge effects on the environment if he truly left and entered one of those nonexistent, possible future branches. I would rather say that whatever plate he tried to enter would break in an instant. Let’s not forget that those plates are also part of Xyrath’s body.-
Hearing that, Roan thought of something. "We can’t find Xyrath anywhere... Could it be because he is everywhere? Laiana, since Xyrath’s body is made of these Time Plates, could he have somehow broken himself into countless pieces?"
-This...- Laiana was taken aback. Her mind quickly went back to the past, during a time they fought together. -That is indeed possible, especially since he cultivates time.-
"Cultivates time?"
-It isn’t all that hard to believe, now, is it? I’m also a Primordial Demon Beast, and you know that what I cultivate is my bloodline. There is no such thing as a single path of cultivation. Instead, they are endless. Xyrath cultivates with time power. The Time Plates that make his body are full of it, and his innate ability makes it possible to access different possible futures to a certain extent, even though they aren’t real.-
Laiana continued to think. -If he decided to detach all the Time Plates that make up his body, it would make sense that you can’t find him. Just like Roan said, Xyrath can’t be found in a single place. Instead, he is everywhere.-
Suddenly, Rean had an idea. Just a few hundred meters away, there was one of those Time Plates floating around, showing a different possible future of the grassland below it. "Give me a second."
Rean flashed in the Time Plate’s direction, arriving by its side in an instant. As soon as he got there, he shouted while using his Divine Energy to amplify his voice.
"XYRATH, LAIANA ENTANGLED HER TENTACLES AGAIN!"
As if those were some kind of magic words, the Time Plate trembled, reacting to Rean. From several kilometers around, various other Time Plates gathered together with the one Rean shouted at before a voice echoed in the surroundings... and it didn’t seem very happy, not at all.
"FUCK THAT! I’m not spending another five hundred years disentangling all that shit! Just kill me already!"
Hearing those words on the other side of the call made Laiana happy and even a little emotional. -Yep, that’s him, no doubt.-
Everyone remembered. Those were the words Laiana told them to use once they found Xyrath. Since he was everywhere, they had already found him a long time ago!
