Chapter 4003: Can’t Be The Aggressors
Time continued to pass... years went by without any significant developments. Eventually, Xyrath’s time finally caught up to the frozen time inside a Time Plate. Since the plate couldn’t show the past, the time inside began to run again, following the same time as the world. Of course, it still showed a different timeline of something that could be possible.
Rean and Kentucky took that opportunity to come out of the protection formation of the Qufis Alliance, only saying that they were running low on resources and would go out to acquire some more.
During the next few decades, Xyrath’s time caught up to all the Time Plates inside the Dimensional Realm. Naturally, Rean and Kentucky used that opportunity to replace the Time Plates with new ones, releasing the others that no longer needed to be frozen in time.
Only then did Rean and Kentucky return, joining the cultivation group.
That first batch of Time Plates was the one that would take the longest time to be replaced. After all, Xyrath focused on the Time Plates that displayed the furthest possible futures. Now, the Time Plates were still all above four hundred years away, but there wasn’t any Time Plate above five hundred years anymore.
*Boom!*
Once again, the twins’ group had another breakthrough. Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky all reached the Peak Stage of the Space-Time Realm. Cultivation was truly progressing without any issues.
Zonhime looked at them, surprised to see their mutual breakthrough. Still, she decided to leave it be. They weren’t really from Qufis, so they likely had some plan for achieving those breakthroughs together.
The important thing was that they were helping with the protection. They got a few ’visitors’ during the last few hundred years, but nothing that could cause them problems. She knew the truth, though. Those visits weren’t real attacks. No deaths happened. Those were all scouting and probing attempts to check what the Qufis Alliance was capable of.
Why? Because of the breakthroughs everyone was having, that’s why.
After such a long time, there were no Space-Bending Realm Experts in the Future Realm anymore. That was to be expected. Let’s not forget that almost all the experts in the Space-Bending Realm who joined this Future Realm opening were in the Peak Stage. Few were below that level.
You could say exactly the same thing regarding the Elemental Space Realm experts. Most of them came into the Future Realm already in the Peak Stage. It’s just that having a breakthrough into the Space-Time Realm was many, many times harder than it was to enter the Elemental Space Realm.
The Space-Time Realm required one to touch the laws to achieve the breakthrough, and that was easier said than done. So, even though around six hundred years had gone by, only around 5% of the still alive Elemental Space Realm Experts really managed to reach the Space-Time Realm. The rest had been trying nonstop and were still failing.
That number wasn’t low, though. If it were anywhere else, it would already be a good outcome if 1% or 2% of them had succeeded. Six hundred years was truly a very short time for experts at this level.
Finally, there were the Space-Time Realm Experts, who, just like the others, were pretty much all in the Peak Stage when they came here. Well, reaching Divinity was even worse. Not even 1% of them have succeeded so far. The expectation was that no more than 2 or 3% of all Space-Time Realm experts would manage to reach Divinity after ten thousand years. Qufis, for example, hasn’t had any expert succeed in entering the Divinity Realm yet.
Fortunately for Qufis, it was in contact with the deserters, and they managed to bring many of those who had fled back in exchange for no punishment or pursuits once they got out. That also included the other Divinity Realm Expert from Qufis, a man called Roney.
In any case, that also meant the number of higher-level experts in all groups of the Future Realm had increased. The only question was which group was doing better than the others. Thus, those probing attempts during these hundreds of years.
After over nine hundred years, Zonhime began to pay more attention to their surroundings. Her Divine Sense would notice one or another expert entering her Divine Sense range, coming close to their Qufis Alliance location, and leave after a few moments. That type of occurrence only increased as they approached the first thousand years inside the Future Realm.
"Listen up, everyone," Zonhime suddenly called everyone out. "The number of scouts is increasing. For those who don’t know, we aren’t safe yet. Just like when we first entered the Future Realm, there will be times when the various groups inside the Future Realm will seek out weaker groups and try to eliminate them."
"This is all about growing stronger than the enemies, which always changes the power balance of this region of the Divine Realm. It won’t be long before we receive some nasty visitors. However, our protection formation is fully deployed, and so are several support formations. Our formations masters even managed to put down a few slaughtering formations, although they aren’t that good, so don’t rely on them."
"If someone comes, make sure to be ready to fight. I highly recommend not attempting a breakthrough in the next fifty to one hundred years. If you are at a juncture point and we are attacked, you will have to fight, and the state you find yourself in might actually backfire. It is not impossible that you will lose all your cultivation or even die if things go wrong."
"Alright, that’s all I had to say. Keep your eyes open."
Kentucky couldn’t help but ask. "Isn’t the other way possible? Shouldn’t we look for weaker powers and get rid of them to prevent troubles in the future?"
Everyone thought Kentucky’s words made sense. They aren’t part of the strongest powers in the Future Realm, but they are still a multicontinental alliance. Sure there were weaker powers than them that would be better gone before their experts grow too strong. Even if they don’t attack here, it would be a problem for the Qufis Alliance once everyone is out.
However, Zonhime shook her head. "That was the idea initially. But now we have explicit orders to not be the aggressors. I believe you all know why, so I won’t comment on this."
Indeed, they knew. The number of Space-Time Realm experts they managed to get through the Storm Wall was a lot lower than the other powers of similar strength. So, being the attacker wasn’t an option for them anymore.
