Chapter 4090: Not That One!
Roan was skeptical of their situation. "Why are there no Divine Senses? We can’t feel any high-level experts at all."
"Divine Senses?" Guren thought Roan’s words to be weird. "Isn’t that obvious. Everyone knows that no Divine Sense is permitted in the perimeters of the Main Palace and the Twelve Realm Towers outside."
Everyone suddenly stopped, and they all noticed something. "Did you say twelve?"
Was that a coincidence? The number of Primordial Beasts imprisoned in the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble was also twelve, wasn’t it? Could those towers have anything to do with the Primordial Beasts?
They looked at Hick, but it was hard to make anything out of him since he was in his real form, a ring-like being with a black sphere at the center.
Hick noticed their attention, and they told him what they had just heard from Guren. "Twelve Realm Towers..." He thought deeply and hard, but he couldn’t come up with anything. "Sorry, but I know nothing about them. Maybe it is a coincidence?"
Roan narrowed his eyes, but he didn’t insist. Regardless of whether those towers had anything to do with the Primordial Beasts or not, they couldn’t worry about it now. They had to get away.
Roan turned his attention back to Guren in the Dimensional Realm. "What must one do to leave the Imperial Dimensional Realm?"
"I’m sorry, sir. But that is way above my pay grade," Guren explained. "When we are brought to the palace, we arrive inside the officials’ Pocket Dimensional Realms. We have no idea how we arrived or how we will leave later. All I know is the areas I’m responsible for maintaining and my living quarters. That’s all."
Roan narrowed his eyes. That was some high degree of control right there. But then again, you couldn’t really expect less from a place like this, could you? Only the ban of Divine Sense bothered him a little. In any case, Roan wondered if he should just capture someone else. "What are the places you know?"
"For the next fifty years, my group and I will be responsible for the Throne Room, the corridors leading to it, and the stairs. Those are the places I know." Guren counted.
"The stairs then, guide us there," Roan ordered.
*Vuahhh!!!*
Suddenly, Rean’s Divine Sense Bending Skill reacted. Various Divine Senses, many of them at the Celestial Level, just passed over. He almost failed to bend them, as they were all pretty close. "They know we are here."
No one was surprised. As Hick mentioned, they would have only a few minutes before the experts who were protecting Hick’s body could access the Werdlem Network. Besides, they left a pretty big hole behind the Throne that the cleaners they saw earlier would find sooner or later.
"Did they break through your Bending?" Roan asked.
"No," and Rean answered. "But there are quite a few of them capable of doing it. If we are unlucky and get close to one of them, my bend won’t work. Their Divine Senses will get past it. Don’t go ahead, there are some coming from that direction."
Roan nodded, and their group changed path. They eventually came out in a garden, which was several tens of kilometers wide. Roan couldn’t help but feel interested in many of the plants there. Quite a few were rare herbs that he could make excellent use of.
Of course, he didn’t try to take any of them, as the various Divine Senses looking for them would easily notice the sudden disappearance of the plants.
"S-Sir, this is not the direction of the stairs," Guren warned from inside the Dimensional Realm. "I don’t know where we are or where this place will lead us."
Of course, they knew that. It’s just that they couldn’t continue on the same path as before. Yet, Kentucky noticed something. "How do you know about the twelve towers then?"
Celis answered. "Look up, and it will become pretty obvious."
Kentucky did as Celis said. Sure enough, Kentucky noticed the twelve towers. They were not attached to the ground, though. Instead, they were floating high above them. Also, they were not standing straight but were inclined in different directions, almost forming a flower-petal pattern, with the Main Palace at the center.
[Do not try to get close to them,] Sister Orb warned. [There are some powerful formations there, and I’m scared to even try to hack into any of those.]
"Shit!" Rean noticed one of the Divine Senses coming in his direction, and it was a Peak Stage Celestial. "Quick, let’s move. There is a guy approaching."
"Hick, can’t you create a boundary to stop the Divine Senses from seeing us?" Kentucky asked.
"I can, and it is relatively easy since Divine Senses aren’t exactly powerful themselves. The experts using them are," Hick explained. "However, that will be even worse. Different from Rean’s bending, I would be literally blocking any Divine Sense from reaching us. For the enemy, it would look like five shadows moving inside their Divine Senses. We will only stand out even more."
Hick was also pretty much useless at that point since he went beyond his limits to block the Flogon and Kroqui’s cultivation earlier. He will need a long time to recover his power to be able to block someone’s cultivation again. He wasn’t the same Terminarch anymore.
"All we can do at the moment is move around and hope the system warns us of the existence of an Abyssal Path used in Great Void Shifters," Roan commented.
"Most of the Divine Senses are inside the Main Palace," Rean said. "They likely think we are hiding there at the moment. However, they will be coming out soon, and there are more approac- Holy shit!"
"What?!" Everyone looked at him.
"What a powerful Divine Sense! It is coming from the twelve towers above. This is nothing compared to those Peak Stage Celestials!" Rean explained. "Roan, it is even stronger than Victor and Caladara’s Divine Senses."
They already suspected that Victor and Caladara were above the Celestial Realm, but to find even stronger Divine Senses was unexpected. "It’s coming down! I can’t bend this!"
Roan quickly scanned the surroundings. There were more palaces, residences, and other buildings around. "Sister Orb, does any of those have Anti-Divine Sense Formations?"
[Yes!] Sister Orb pointed out. [Pretty much them all have! The closest one is that building two and a half kilometers to your right!]
"Let’s go!" Roan didn’t think twice, and they all shot forward.
It was a bad gamble. After all, the owners of Anti-Divine Sense Formations were usually exempt from their effects. That means their Divine Senses could enter and leave any time they wanted. Nonetheless, that was their only choice at the moment.
In just a second, they arrived in front of the Palace, preparing to enter. However, it was then that a voice reached Rean and Roan’s minds. ’Don’t go in there! Quick, move to your ten o’clock, the third building!’
They were found! However, why would the voice warn them of anything? If the experts of the Werdlem Universe knew about them, they wouldn’t have said anything. They would have surrounded the twins’ group first. And then, the dilemma. Trust the voice, or ignore it and enter the building in front of them? If they ignore, will the owner of that voice report them?
Well, since everything was all a gamble so far... ’Fuck it! Everyone, follow me!’
