Soza looked at the man. ’Fuclu, explain to me how we were invaded through the Great Void Shifter. Is there a traitor in the Imperial Palace? For them to have appeared in the Terminarch’s Shifter, they must have had someone activate the Shifter behind the throne room. That area should be completely sealed off, am I wrong?’

’You are correct, sir,’ Fuclu confirmed. ’However, the area was sealed against an invasion from the outside, not the other way around. As Sir mentioned, without someone else to activate the Great Void Shifter, no one should be able to appear there. Thus, a protection was never created to protect against it.’

Fuclu continued. ’Sir is the only one in the Werdlem Empire with access to that formation. I find it hard to believe someone would be capable of passing through the Formation without anyone noticing. If there is someone with such a power, that would definitely be someone from the Celestial Plane. Would anyone from the Celestial Plane really come here? That’s even more unlikely.’

’That said, there are only two possibilities. First, when the room with the Great Void Shifter was built, someone stayed behind and kept quiet during all these years, just waiting for this moment. ’Gin?’ Soza was even more confused. ’Someone with his authority shouldn’t even know of the existence of that place.’

’We are still investigating the issue, Sir,’ Fuclu explained. ’There is a chance he might be involved with the invaders. After all, to get to the Terminarch’s body, one must get past the protection formation, and there is proof that Gin opened the formation with his blood.’

’That idiot!’ Soza was raging! ’Bring him to me! I want to hear what he has to say about it. What about the Terminarch?’

Fuclu continued. ’Flogon and Kroqui reported that one of the invaders said that the Terminarch’s body was his. Not only that, but he could control the Terminarch’s Boundary Abilities. At the end, he sent his soul into the Terminarch’s body after his companions set it free and escaped through the Black Tunnel.’

Soza calmed down, pondering it. ’Back then, we were all clueless about why the Terminarch had gone silent. We simply found his body floating near the bubble. He was alive, but we couldn’t get any reactions from him. We considered the possibility of his soul escaping, but ultimately rejected it. Are you saying the Terminarch’s Soul had truly gone out of the bubble?’

Short paths could still be overcome with the right tools and raw strength, but paths between Universes are suicide without the support of one. Have you checked them?’

’The Abyssal Beasts under our care are all accounted for, Sir,’ Fuclu answered straight away. ’There are no traces that any of them had escaped or helped anyone.’

Soza understood Fuclu’s meaning. ’Which means they either have another Abyssal Beast, or they found a way of using their abilities. Do you have the identity of the invaders?’

’With the Werdlem Network, we got a lot of information. Except for the Golden Crow, every single one of them seems to have been born in A1. They rose through the ranks like rockets, with talents that few can match,’ Fuclu reported.

However, Soza knew Fuclu quite well. ’What is it? You don’t seem very convinced.’

’Climbing back to their origins, it is reported that they came from the same tribe, but rival tribes had destroyed it. They ended as slaves, got separated, but ultimately got back together again. I find it very hard to believe four of them could have come from exactly the same place. I feel like their identities aren’t real,’ Fuclu explained.

’False Werdlem IDs?’ Soza couldn’t let it slide. ’Investigate! If they truly have false Werdlem IDs, that means we have a traitor in our ranks.
