Death… And Me

Chapter 4110: Understood

Chapter 4110: Understood

Xyrath looked at Rean in shock. "Wait, you remember everything? How?! How did you protect your memories?"

Rean shook his head in response. "I didn't. How could I if everything that happened to my body would be wiped out? I really lost all the memories from the moment I left this cave up to this point."

*Zush!*

Roan appeared outside. "However, our memories are connected. He simply had me copy all his memories and store them inside my own mind. That's how we can communicate with each other without Divine Sense, by simply allowing access to our memories. We keep each other out 99.99% of the time, though. And we only share the memories we want to."

Rean nodded. "So, the moment I appeared back here, Roan sent me the copy back into my mind. It was that simple... if you can call it that."

Then, Rean turned to Roan. "You didn't mess with any of my memories, right? They also included my comprehension of the Celestial Laws."

"Hmph!" Roan snorted. "Even if just for a few minutes, just the fact that I had to hold onto your memories made me feel sick! And here you are, asking if I touched them? Just go ahead and kill me first!"

Rean's mouth twitched. "You could just have said no..."

"A simple no wouldn't have conveyed my feelings of disgust," and Roan didn't give a damn.

Xyrath didn't know what to say. They just did something absolutely ridiculous, and yet it felt like their desire to argue with each other was a lot more important. "There is absolutely something wrong with you..."

*Rumble...*

Suddenly, a massive amount of Celestial Energy began to come down from the Celestial Plane, entering Rean's body. "Well, let's get it over with."

He sat down and allowed his body to once again go through the breakthroughs. Since Rean retained his memories of the Celestial Laws, he obviously could connect to them. Xyrath said it himself. The only future that would be wiped out was Rean's body. Everything else would stay the same way. The connection was still there, and thanks to Roan, so was the knowledge to use it.

Besides, back then, the twins' group already had a Peak Stage Celestial Body. Rean only needed the Celestial Energy to achieve the breakthroughs.

*Zush!*

Hick also appeared. "This is a lot of Celestial Energy. I'd better create a boundary to keep the fluctuations from escaping this cave. We already know there are Celestials looking for us here."

Then, he changed into his real form, and a boundary was created. Since it was only Rean this time, Hick didn't need any help for it to work. It wasn't five hundred plus disciples. "Done!"

Xyrath looked at Hick. "To think two Primordial Beasts would be hiding in a cave in the middle of nowhere. It is almost comical. Good to see you haven't changed."

Hick would have smiled if he weren't in his real form, which had no face. "I've been in worse condition. I even pretended to be a communication device's artifact spirit at some point."

"Yeah, they told me about your misadventures as Hex..." Xyrath didn't know what to say about that.

Roan didn't stay there to reminisce, though. "Kentucky, let's go. We need to check it."

*Zush!*

Kentucky came out as well. "Sure. Let's go."

But before that, Roan stopped. "Right, Xyrath. Are you staying inside our Dimensional Realm while you recover? Without your power to pull different possible futures to help yourself, you are quite a burden at the moment. I'd rather not leave it up to chance and would prefer to keep you in our Dimensional Realm until you recover. A decade isn't that long anyway."

Xyrath pondered a bit and nodded. "I already spent thousands of years in there during the Future Realm anyway. Well, that was just my own pocket Dimensional Realm. Alright, I'll stay with you guys."

Roan waved his hand, and Xyrath disappeared. Only then did he come out of the underground with Kentucky, leaving Rean and Hick alone behind. On the surface, Kentucky opened a Spatial Gate, and the two left that location.

"So boring..." Hick complained. Rean would spend a few hours returning to his peak, and he was fully concentrated, while Hick had to keep the boundary. So, he was pretty much alone.

---

The hours passed, and Rean slowly recovered. He was almost done when Roan and Kentucky returned. The two dove back into the cave, finding Rean there.

"It is still empty," Roan and Kentucky confirmed.

Rean opened his eyes, and a burst of Celestial Energy spread everywhere. He got up, his own Celestial Laws of Dark and Light gathering around him, just like before. "Yeah, this is more like it. I still need to get used to this power, though."

Then, he turned back to Roan and Kentucky. "So it's empty, uh. Then we must hurry before someone appears."

Hick was still confused. "Just what are you talking about?"

They already begun to make their way back to the surface as Rean explained. "Did you forget? The Werdlem Empire definitely knows we can use the Abyssal Paths without Great Void Shifters. That means we can also use broken Shifters since the Abyssal Paths behind them never disappear. That's how we travelled from one Universe to the next."

"I see..." Hick returned to his humanoid form and nodded. "The Werdlem Universe has all the other Universe Shifters in a single place, the Starway. However, the rest of the Universes have their Shifters to other Universes in various locations, including broken shifters. The Werdlem Empire would do good to watch them."

"Exactly," Rean nodded. "Well, they likely think we are still back there in the Werdlem Universe, so it should be fine for a while."

Kentucky opened a Spatial Gate again, and they disappeared inside. As they transferred to the following location, Rean took the chance to ask something they had been ignoring so far. "We only have one problem here. We are all Celestial Realm Experts. And the Mist Library is located inside Universe F956, Rifindio's Universe. We can't really enter it with our cultivations as they are at the moment, right?"

Hick confirmed. "Yes. The Universe will reject your presence. As strong as you can possibly be, you can't really hope to match the power of an entire Universe, even if it's a Rank F one."

"How did those guys from the Werdlem Empire do it, then?" Roan remembered Gin and his subordinates. They obviously found a way to suppress their cultivation.

"It's an item from the Celestial Plane," Hick explained. "It can truly suppress your cultivation back to the Divinity Realm, but still allow you to use Celestial Energy and Laws. Of course, the amount of Celestial Energy you can use in that state isn't even a tenth of what you usually can."

"Is it any different from when we suppress our cultivations on purpose?" Rean asked.

And Hick confirmed. "Yes. It is completely different from the normal suppression that the experts do to themselves when they want to hide their cultivation. You can't trick a lower-ranked universe with that method. Those items, called Celestial Suppressors, make it really look like you are Divinities."

"Of course, if you release your cultivation while inside a lower-ranked Universe, the Universe will instantly expel you. That's why you saw those guys from the Werdlem Empire releasing their cultivations only after they left C44."

Then, he smiled. "However, with me here, we need no such thing. I'll create a boundary that will keep your cultivations completely hidden. Just make sure you suppress yourselves to the level of a Divinity, and I'll take care of the rest."

Rean and the others were happy that this problem was already resolved. "Understood."
