Chapter 4252: Cleaning Duty
That same day, Roan visited the cultivation repository. There were many terminals there, and anyone could access them at any time they wanted. Once again, survival of the Besgol Region was paramount, so withholding information like the best cultivation techniques was a fool’s errand.
This place didn’t have everything, though. You could find a lot more in the Besgol Region Network and also in the Godly Subjugation Guild.
That said, Rean was responsible for the techniques in the network. Roan stayed behind in the repository. Last but not least, Kentucky and Celis went to the Guild to look into their repository.
All the information they acquired was transmitted to Sister Orb through their connection. They might not be able to enter, send in, or bring out anything from their ’pocket-dimensional realm,’ but information wasn’t physical. That alone was enough for Sister Orb to take it all like a sponge.
There was one more advantage, too. They could still use the Sky Energy Formation, even with that restriction. That was likely because it was integrated with Sister Orb after the creation of the new Orb System.
They didn’t stop there. Thanks to their performance in the first-timers list, they got quite a bit of prestige, even if it would last a short while. After all, another assault would definitely come sooner or later, and a new first-timers list would be released once it was fended off. In any case, they used their short-term prestige to look into other places for more techniques.
Time passed, and five days had gone by since they started their information gathering. New ascenders arrived all the time, and the Besgol Region, even if just a normal region like most of the others, had a long history. There were truly a huge number of techniques available to look into.
The twins would likely take another two or three weeks to look into everything, which wasn’t a problem. It’s just that on the fifth day, the sect sent someone out for them.
Roan was in the guild’s technique repository when another disciple approached him. "Hello, friend. Would you have a moment, please?"
Roan stopped reading the contents in the terminal, looking at the guy. "Those clothes... a core disciple?"
The Wangamiglia Sect’s disciples could easily be distinguished by their purple attire. Even Rean and Roan had to use them, or at the very least, they should have the sect’s emblem visible on their clothes. This man used the traditional clothes of the Core Disciples. "Yes, I’m a core disciple. My name is Vastin, a Late Stage Anchor God and also an ascender myself."
Roan nodded slightly. "I’m Roan."
Vastin didn’t mind Roan’s cold demeanor. "I was sent to look for you and your friends, but it seems like you are the only one available at the moment. Elder Flantoihy would like to have a chat with you. It’s about your first sect duty task."
"Flantoihy?" Roan knew who the guy was. One of the things he did after joining the Wangamiglia Sect was to check who the higher-ups were here, obviously. "He is a member of the exploration hall, isn’t he?"
Vastin confirmed. "The one and the same. Would it be okay if I invited you to come to the exploration hall for a moment? It shouldn’t take more than an hour of your time. I also want to have your friends, but since they aren’t around, just you will be enough."
Anyone could tell the twins’ group was called together because they were from the same Great Void, Vinx. The four of them had huge contributions as first-timers, and that might have caught the interest of the elder.
Rean, Celis, and Kentucky were all listening through their connection. ’Just go check what he wants. We will still take some time to gather all the techniques available anyway.’
Roan knew that and accepted Vastin’s offer. "Sure. Lead the way."
Vastin left with Roan. By now, there were still a few eyes on Roan when he walked through the sect, but it wasn’t anything like before anymore. People were slowly losing interest in his group, which he didn’t mind.
The exploration hall was exactly as the name suggests. The experts here would often go out of the Besgol Region to explore the Godly Creatures’ Territories, with a special emphasis on the uncharted areas. Pretty much all the big organizations of the Besgol Region had a place like this.
Once there, Roan was brought to a room where you could see hundreds of enormous screens and many disciples sorting a lot of information on many terminals.
Flantoihy noticed Roan’s arrival. "Good, you are here." But he also saw Rean and the others weren’t with him. "And your friends?"
"They are busy. We are looking into the various cultivation techniques to prepare for the Anchor God Realm breakthrough," Roan explained. There was no point hiding that part since they intended to show everyone when they used every single Godly Crystal they received as a reward.
"Good, it aligns with the task I have for you. Try to pass the message to your friends later. You and they will also receive it in your RCs," Flantoihy explained. Following that, he turned his eyes to one of the big screens, ordering a disciple down there. "Show me the area FG17."
The disciple nodded, and the map, which showed the area near their country’s border to the outside world, began to zoom in. Several markers appeared as the map zoomed, finally stopping in an area tagged as FG17. It was not an uncharted area, though.
Once the map stopped, Flatoihy continued. "I was told that you can use your Weapon Intents for some reason no one can explain. It is truly a sad thing that you have no cultivation aptitude. Nonetheless, at least during the Anchor God Realm, you will likely be one of the strongest experts at that level because of the weapon intents. That World Swallowing Cedar’s energy manipulation also helps a lot in your group’s case."
"I want the four of you to go to area FG17, where we have one of our guardposts. It is at the very limit of the influence of the Sacred Relic, and the Godly Creatures that enter that area are barely affected by the relic at all."
"Nonetheless, the Relic’s influence usually makes the Godly Creatures stay far from it, even if it is barely perceptible. It’s just that sometimes, a few Godly Creatures, mostly Godly Spawns, ignore the Relic’s force and start living in the area."
"The guardpost in FG17 is under our care, so we need to get rid of those Godly Creatures before they attract more of them. That’s your task this time."
Roan narrowed his eyes. "Why would you send us instead of experienced Anchor Gods?"
Flantoihy turned to him. "Do you want the truth or a lie?"
Roan wasn’t an idiot. "We have Weapon Intent but no aptitude. No one expects much from us in the long term anyway, so the sect will make full use of our Weapon Intent advantage before it becomes irrelevant."
Flantoihy confirmed. "That’s basically it. Of course, it won’t be for nothing. Cleaning duties have their advantages. All the Godly Crystals you acquire during this exploration will be yours and only yours. You can use them as you see fit, and with your Weapon Intents, you might actually gain quite a bit from it. Both sides will be gaining here."
Roan pondered a bit and nodded. At the end of the day, the twins’ group already intended to go out to gather the Godly Crystals. This exploration only meant they are going out earlier. "We can go, but we need two or three weeks before that, as we are trying to have our breakthroughs."
"That’s why I said it is convenient," Flantoihy added. "You must be Anchor Gods to take these tasks, so I was going to allow you the use of the Godly Extraction Arrays, which better extract the Godly Energy of the Crystals. Normally, those arrays require the payment of Godly Crystals as well, but you can use them for the next two weeks for free. Just be aware that if you don’t have your breakthroughs in these two weeks, I will be forced to charge for the Arrays. You will also fail in this sect mission, which has its drawbacks. So, do you think you can do it?"
Rean’s voice echoed in Roan’s mind. ’I looked into those arrays. They will indeed help a lot. Celis can quickly manipulate the energy released by the arrays, and together, we can make the necessary energy for the breakthrough. He isn’t lying when he says that both sides have a lot to gain here.’
Roan finally nodded at Flantoihy. "Yes. With those arrays, two weeks is more than enough. We will depart before the deadline."
"Good." Flantoihy was happy to hear that. "You are dismissed. Vastin, call the next group. I need them to check area FG41. And get me Don..."
Roan didn’t stay there to hear Flantoihy passing more and more orders. His group was just one of many Flantoihy commanded, so although Roan could feel a difference in treatment, many others were also sent out every day. "Back to the repository..."
