Chapter 4277: The Shadow

There was no other way anymore. The others also understood the predicament, and they all attacked as well.

They were all attacks that didn’t require energy to be used out of their bodies. They had no choice, as they were not Aura Gods yet. They were also terrified because that meant they had to truly get into melee range with the Godly Predator.

The Godly Predator roared. It’s Godly Energy gathered on the wound, forcing the Dark Element of Fonken’s attack to be driven out. At the same time, it shot forward with the extra energy! It pulled even more White Threads with pure strength!

An Anchor God didn’t have enough time to dodge. Even with the White Threads holding it and the injury, it simply brute-forced its way through, breaking several more White Threads in the process. The head of the Anchor God was eaten in half, and the Anchor God fell.

"Laclarc!"

It didn’t stop, twisting its body and dodging the other Anchor Gods’ attacks. The difference in cultivation was enormous. Zone Gods were supposed to be fighting this thing. Aura Gods fighting it was already suicide. Anchor Gods like them? Now, that was just ridiculous!

Besides, the Array wasn’t made for something like this either.

The Godly Predator could easily dodge the Anchor Gods, even with the White Threads hindering its movements. Fonken, however, was another story. He was indeed very close to the Zone God Realm.

Fonken’s attack landed, and another big black gap appeared, this time on the Predator’s shoulder.

The Dark Element rushed inside the creature, but it was quickly countered by the huge amount of Godly Energy it had. Of course, an injury was still an injury, and it hindered its movements a little more. It’s just that it was far from being enough to take it down.

If anything, it only made it angrier.

The Anchor Gods followed in Fonken’s attack, trying to take that chance to cause more injuries to the Godly Predator or maybe even kill it.

However, the Golden Spikes on the wolf’s body suddenly shone with its Godly Energy, and when the Anchor Gods tried to land their attacks, the Predator released them!

The Godly Predator was getting faster and faster, and even Fonken wasn’t managing to cause enough damage to stop it. He was the one getting more injuries instead, making his life more difficult than it already was.

In a matter of a single minute, seven of the Anchor Gods died, the other three were too injured to continue, and Fonken was running pretty much out of Godly Energy. He, too, was growing desperate.

The sound of something breaking echoed in the surroundings.

"Not good!" Zuary heard that, his expression turning pale. He knew what that sound was, and his eyes followed its source. "The core of the Array broke!"

The remaining White Threads all disappeared at once, allowing the Predator to finally move freely. For a moment, it looked confused, since it didn’t know why the threads disappeared.

However, it quickly focused again, completely ignoring Zuary and the other two Anchor Gods. The Godly Predator knew exactly who its real enemy was, and without anything holding it back, it shot after Fonken!

*Rawr!*

Its mouth opened, and Fonken only had the time to hold his spear in front. The situation was dire!

The Predator bit the spear itself, then used its back legs to push against Fonken’s chest, piercing its claws inside and pushing forward! Fonken was sent flying while the Predator held the spear with its mouth. Was it aiming to do that? Perhaps it could tell by instinct that the Spear was the thing that caused it most of the damage and wanted to get rid of it first.

*Awwolllll!!!*

It threw the spear away and shot straight at Fonken’s head. It was enraged after all the damage Fonken caused it, and it wanted nothing more than to swallow Fonken whole!

Fonken bitterly smiled. He had no more Godly Energy to use, and the chest injury only added to his bad situation. He didn’t give up, though. He raised his fists, ready to fight to the end with empty hands. Talk about stubbornness. "Come!"

The Godly Predator pounced at Fonken, and Fonken followed it with his eyes as it came from above, ready to punch back. But then, Fonken’s eyes opened wide. Just there, above the Godly Predator, he saw another shadow falling through the branches and leaves of the forest trees, obviously coming down from the skies.

At the same time that the shadow fell, Fonken felt the Godly Pressure of the surroundings disappearing without a trace, although just for a fraction of a second. Was that an illusion? He had no time to think about it, because the shadow was here!
