Chapter 4339: A Try
"Another method?" Everyone looked at Rean curiously. "What exactly would you need to do?"
Rean faintly smiled. "Did everyone forget what my array actually does?"
Celis was the first to understand. "It separates Godly Energy into Celestial Energy and Godly Pressure before using the Godly Pressure for disguise..." His eyes lit up afterward. "You are going to use the disguise function itself."
Celis’s words only made Tobao and the others even more confused.
"What do you mean by that?" one of the Array Masters immediately asked.
Rean laughed after seeing Celis catch on so quickly. "You really have been with us for a long time already. Hahaha!"
Only then did he turn back to Tobao. "My array literally manipulates Godly Pressure to create disguises. So, instead of using it normally, I can simply amplify that pulling effect and forcibly drag out any nearby Godly Pressure."
"I see!" Tobao quickly understood as his eyes brightened. "No one has ever created an array capable of manipulating Godly Pressure before. Naturally, whoever carries hidden Godly Pressure inside their body wouldn’t be capable of stopping it from reacting to such an array."
He then continued his reasoning. "There was never any precedent for protecting concealed Godly Pressure in the first place. Godly Pressure itself doesn’t strengthen the expert; that is the role of Godly Energy. Even if the pressure leaks out, the puppet wouldn’t actually weaken. However..." Tobao narrowed his eyes. "It would immediately reveal who possesses Godly Pressure and who does not."
"Exactly." Rean nodded in confirmation.
Tobao then thought even further ahead.
"In that case..." he muttered. "Couldn’t you eventually use the surrounding Godly Pressure itself for your disguising arrays? If you managed that, you wouldn’t need Godly Crystals anymore."
The idea clearly excited him.
After all, the greatest limitation of Rean’s airplane was its absurd consumption of Godly Crystals.
Unfortunately, Rean immediately shook his head.
"That wouldn’t work at all."
Tobao looked puzzled. "Why?"
Rean quickly explained.
"A Godly Creature’s unique identity is tied to its Godly Pressure. When Godly Pressure enters a creature’s body, it changes according to that creature’s cultivation and characteristics. Afterward, when released again, other Godly Creatures can recognize that specific identity through their senses."
He then pointed toward the surroundings.
"Natural Godly Pressure doesn’t possess any identity at all. If I used only environmental Godly Pressure for disguise, the result would be the exact opposite of concealment." Rean shrugged helplessly. "To Godly Creatures, we would look like a massive clump of unidentified Godly Pressure floating around. We would stand out like a bright sun in their senses. So unfortunately, that approach is impossible."
"I see..." Tobao felt somewhat disappointed after hearing that.
If Rean could use surrounding Godly Pressure instead of Godly Crystals, mass-producing disguised flying vessels would’ve become feasible.
Unfortunately, reality wasn’t so convenient.
And Tobao personally witnessed how expensive Rean’s airplane was to maintain.
That airplane was actually very small, capable of carrying only around ten cultivators. A larger ship would undoubtedly consume even more Godly Crystals.
Still, Tobao quickly pushed those thoughts aside.
"So..." he looked at Rean seriously. "Shall we begin?"
Rean nodded.
However, just as Tobao was about to agree—
One of the Array Masters suddenly moved!
His right hand instantly turned black-gold, while his aura exploded with power far beyond what his cultivation should’ve allowed.
The surrounding Array Masters didn’t even have time to react.
By the time they realized what happened, the man’s hand was already reaching toward the back of Tobao’s neck!
Yet, at that exact moment, Tobao’s calm voice echoed through everyone’s minds via Celestial Sense.
’Amitabha, Amitabha... you are far too desperate.’
Tobao’s figure blurred.
The black-gold hand passed straight through an afterimage.
Immediately afterward, Tobao’s palm came crashing down onto the back of the Array Master’s head like a heavenly hammer!
*BANG!*
*CRASH!*
The entire floor trembled violently as blood splattered in every direction.
The Array Master indeed possessed combat power far beyond his apparent cultivation, but he was still only an Aura God in the end.
Against a Law God like Tobao, even a sneak attack meant nothing.
Tobao pressed the man firmly into the ground before raising his cold eyes toward the remaining Array Masters nearby.
"I will open the barrier now so the Godly Subjugation Guild can take this puppet away," Tobao declared calmly.
His expression then darkened slightly.
"If any of you attempts to flee..." his voice grew colder, "...I will not remain as lenient as I was with this one."
He then sighed softly. "I am a monk. Please do not force me to kill unnecessarily."
Tobao waved his sleeve.
Moments later, several experts from the Godly Subjugation Guild rushed into the chamber.
At this point, there was no longer any need for Rean’s array.
The moment the puppet revealed itself, Godly Pressure immediately began leaking nonstop from its body.
The Guild experts quickly sealed the man’s cultivation. Yet the instant they finished, the light within the man’s eyes vanished completely. His life force disappeared in an instant.
"He is dead," Rean immediately noticed.
Tobao narrowed his eyes as well. "Or perhaps he was never truly alive to begin with," Tobao answered. "Just like the corpse-puppet from Jufafner Country."
He then looked toward the Guild experts. "The Guild will investigate further and extract whatever information it can."
The corpse was soon dragged away.
Afterward, Tobao recreated the golden barrier around Rean, Celis, and the remaining Array Masters.
"Rean," Tobao spoke seriously, "if you need any materials or assistance, tell me immediately. I only ask that you move as quickly as possible. We must confirm whether there are more puppets hidden here."
"I already have what I need," Rean answered while taking out several materials from his Spatial Ring.
Among them were even some leftover array components originally used in his airplane.
"It’ll be somewhat wasteful," Rean admitted, "but I can temporarily modify the remaining concealment runes and greatly amplify their pulling force."
He then warned everyone. "However, the runes won’t survive for long afterward. They’ll completely collapse within a few seconds."
Tobao nodded. "As long as it works."
Rean shrugged. "There was never any guarantee this method would succeed in the first place. Still, the fact that the puppet attacked us immediately is already proof enough that they don’t have a way of protecting their Godly Pressure from leaking out if it is forced to do so."
His eyes narrowed afterward. "If my guess is correct, the puppet panicked because it knew the array would expose it for sure."
Tobao agreed with that reasoning. "Understood. I’ll be prepared."
Rean immediately added another warning. "The moment I activate the array, we’ll only have a few seconds before the runes collapse completely. If we need to repeat the process, creating new runes will definitely take time."
Tobao nodded before walking directly into the middle of the remaining Array Masters.
The surrounding experts instinctively stepped backward in fear.
Yet Tobao immediately warned them.
"Nobody moves."
His voice remained calm, but the pressure behind it was terrifying.
"If anyone takes even a single unnecessary step..." Tobao’s eyes turned icy, "...I will not hold back."
Rean and Celis exchanged helpless looks after seeing that scene. At the moment, Tobao looked far more like a murderous Shura than an enlightened monk.
Soon afterward, Rean began modifying the remaining array runes. Since durability and efficiency no longer mattered, the changes didn’t take long at all.
He simply altered the runes so they could handle far greater energy output for a few seconds while forcibly dragging out nearby Godly Pressure.
Finally, Rean approached Tobao with the modified runes in hand.
"Senior Tobao," Rean warned, "can you gather everyone closer together? This model was originally designed to function with Godly Crystals placed inside sealed slots. Even after amplification, its effective range is still very limited."
Tobao immediately complied.
"You heard him," Tobao declared toward the Array Masters. "Move closer."
One of the Array Masters couldn’t stop himself from speaking nervously. "W-What if someone near us is another puppet? What if they suddenly attack or take someone hostage?"
Tobao shook his head calmly. "I will not hesitate because of hostages."
Everyone froze after hearing that.
"If I discover another puppet," Tobao continued coldly, "I will attack immediately. Anyone standing nearby will simply have to survive the aftermath."
He then closed his eyes briefly. "The safety of the Besgol Region is more important than any individual life here, including my own. So prepare yourselves accordingly."
Finally, Rean finished adjusting the array.
He looked toward everyone present before speaking.
"Well then..." Rean activated the runes. "Let’s give it a try."
