Death… And Me

Chapter 4365: BEHOLD!

Chapter 4365: BEHOLD!

"Good!" Rean put away his equipment and prepared to leave. "In that case, I’ll leave the rest to you. By the way, since the protective arrays were taken down, you should probably move the crystal back into the crater. No doubt the Godly Creatures have already sensed its presence and are making their way here."

"Oh, right..." Tobao almost forgot about that issue amidst the investigation. "Then I’d better get moving as well."

However, just as he was about to leave, another question came to mind.

"Wait. How did you even get here? This place is restricted to those participating in the project, and I’m pretty sure I never added your name to the authorized personnel list."

A faint smile appeared on Rean’s face. "You haven’t blocked my access to the Besgol Network, right?"

"Obviously not," Tobao replied.

"Good." Rean immediately connected to his RC and sent several commands through the Besgol Network.

*ZzuuuuuuUuUuuuu...*

A strange sound echoed through the air.

Tobao’s expression changed slightly as his Celestial Sense immediately picked up something approaching from the distance. A few seconds later, an object materialized out of thin air, gradually becoming visible as it drew closer.

The sight caused even Tobao to pause.

"If not for my Celestial Sense..." he muttered. "I wouldn’t have noticed it at all."

"Yeap!" Rean answered proudly.

An airplane descended from the sky like a ghost emerging from nowhere.

The aircraft looked unlike anything Tobao had ever seen before. Its body was primarily light blue and gold, yet those colors seemed strangely distorted by the surrounding light. The entire vessel appeared slightly transparent, almost blending into the environment itself. It was obvious now that the light refraction effect had been active moments ago, rendering the airplane invisible to the naked eye.

No visible weapons could be seen anywhere on the hull, but the celestial energy thrusters alone looked impressive enough to make up for it. Their design was completely different from the models sold throughout the region, and several Array Masters immediately became interested after seeing them.

As for its size, the airplane wasn’t particularly large. It was roughly comparable to the one Tobao had previously traveled in and appeared capable of carrying around ten humanoid experts comfortably.

The airplane finally landed beside Rean, attracting the attention of nearly everyone still working nearby.

Rean ignored them all.

Instead, he walked directly to the aircraft, placed both hands on the hull, and hugged it affectionately.

"Look how beautiful it is!" he exclaimed. "It has pretty much everything! Godly Pressure Disguise, Light Bending, Adjustable Celestial Thrusters, Air Vibration Control to eliminate or reduce sounds, and something I developed on the side, a Godly Pressure Radar capable of detecting powerful Godly Creatures from over thirty kilometers away."

Several Array Masters immediately widened their eyes.

A radar?

Rean didn’t even give them time to react.

Instead, he turned toward Tobao, his eyes shining with excitement.

"And, most importantly, it has a Coffee Machine and Gravity-Assisted Cup Holders that will keep your drinks perfectly stable regardless of what kind of maneuver you’re performing!"

Tobao’s eyelids twitched.

For some reason, he felt that the last feature was receiving far more enthusiasm than all the others combined.

Rean then spread his arms dramatically.

"BEHOLD! The Mark-Seven Autonomous Multi-Layer Godly Pressure Concealment, Light-Bending, Air Vibration Suppression, Long-Range Godly Creature Detection, Adjustable Celestial Thruster Propelled Strategic Reconnaissance, Transportation, Emergency Extraction, and Gravity-Assisted Beverage Creation-Preservation Aerial Vessel!"

Silence followed.

Several nearby cultivators simply stared.

Even the wind seemed to stop.

Eventually, Tobao managed to speak.

"You... included the cup holders in the name?"

"Of course!" Rean looked genuinely confused by the question. "The coffee system is one of the most critical components of the entire project."

Tobao felt a headache coming.

"Isn’t there a shorter version?"

Rean immediately nodded.

"There is."

For a brief moment, Tobao felt relieved. That name was too much to remember.

"The MAMLGPCLBAVSLRGCDACTPSRTEAGABPAV."

Tobao’s mouth twitched.

That was somehow even worse.

More importantly, how in the name of the heavens had Rean managed to memorize that monstrosity in the first place?

Still struggling to process everything he had just heard, Tobao focused on what he considered the most absurd part.

"Wouldn’t it be easier to simply prepare a large amount of coffee beforehand and store it in a Spatial Ring?" he asked. "It would remain hot indefinitely inside. Isn’t that effectively the same thing? You wouldn’t even need to waste precious energy powering a coffee machine."

Immediately, Rean’s expression darkened.

The atmosphere around him changed so dramatically that Tobao almost thought he had insulted one of Rean’s family members. "How dare you say it’s the same thing?!"

Tobao instinctively stepped back.

"There is no comparison!" Rean continued. "I don’t care if a Spatial Ring can preserve the temperature forever. Freshly brewed coffee is freshly brewed coffee! It smells different, tastes different, and feels different. It is absolutely not the same thing!"

Tobao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

This airplane was clearly a technological marvel. The stealth systems alone would probably cause every expert in the Arrays Guild to lose sleep for months. Yet somehow, Rean seemed infinitely more passionate about the coffee machine.

"I... see..." Tobao replied weakly. "To each their own, I suppose. Still, congratulations on finishing your airplane."

Rean immediately shook his head.

"It isn’t finished."

Tobao blinked.

"It isn’t?"

"Nope. This is just a test model. Several runic systems still need optimization, and the efficiency of some arrays is far below what I want. However, the most important test was successful."

He patted the hull proudly.

"I managed to travel all the way here without attracting significant attention from any Godly Creature. Well, a few detected my presence, but only in the same way they would notice another Godly Creature nearby. Since they couldn’t actually see me, none of them bothered attacking."

The airplane’s door opened automatically, and Rean began walking toward it. "Anyway, I’m done here. I’m heading back to the Arrays Guild on the mainland. If everything goes according to plan, I’ll have a proper working model ready within two months."

"Wait!" Flugel finally stepped forward.

After overhearing part of the conversation, he could no longer remain silent. "That Godly Pressure Radar..." he asked nervously. "Did you really create something like that?"

Rean stopped and turned around. "Oh, right. Don’t worry about it. Once I’m finished with the airplane, I’ll upload the blueprints to the Arrays Guild Network."

Flugel’s eyes widened.

Rean, however, wasn’t finished. "You should focus on the Godly Pressure Assisted Teleport Arrays first. Other than this farm, that’s still the guild’s highest priority."

Flugel felt strangely defeated.

Rean talked about a device capable of detecting Godly Creatures from thirty kilometers away as if it were a side project. According to him, it wasn’t even one of the airplane’s main features.

The Arrays Guild Master suddenly found himself questioning several life choices.

Perhaps even his title as Guild Master.

Finally, the airplane lifted off the ground and accelerated toward the mainland.

Tobao watched as the light-bending systems activated once more. The aircraft gradually disappeared from sight until it became completely invisible. Not long afterward, it left the range of his Celestial Sense as well.

A long sigh escaped his mouth. "That’s quite a fancy flying coffee machine..."

Flugel almost tripped. "I really don’t think that’s the part you should be paying attention to."

Tobao quickly shook his head and refocused on the important matters at hand. Holding the Mysterious Godly Crystal securely, he rose into the air and looked down at everyone still working on the project.

"You all stay here and continue your work. If I detect a single one of you leaving this area without my permission, don’t blame this monk for being impolite."

No one doubted he meant every word.

With that warning delivered, Tobao took flight toward the crater. At the same time, he connected to his RC and contacted Arcis.

’Arcis, change of plans. There is somewhere else you need to investigate before the Network Guild. Be prepared for a fight... just in case.’
