Death… And Me

Chapter 4568: Extra Visit

Chapter 4568: Extra Visit

Once they returned to Jufafner, everyone gathered at the Godly Subjugation Guild branch there. At first, the twins’ group had no interest in participating in the gathering. After all, Arcis and Thery already knew everything the twins’ group knew, with the obvious exception of the Orb System. There wasn’t much they could add to the conversation that Arcis couldn’t already explain himself.

Still, Arcis insisted that they come, and Tobao did the same through an RC call. In the end, the twins’ group also got to meet the new Law Gods of Besgol, including the newest addition, Kanmro. The meeting wasn’t limited to the strongest experts of the region either. Since the Godly Subjugation Guild was composed of representatives from the various organizations throughout Besgol, several other important figures were present as well.

Tobao and the others looked at Azerion, Zandal, and Coyui with considerable interest. The three newcomers were naturally the biggest unknowns in the room, especially considering their circumstances.

As for Coyui himself, he felt quite out of place. Almost everyone present was a Law God or Zone God, while he wasn’t even a Zone God yet. Was there really a need for him to be there? He couldn’t help but wonder whether his presence served any purpose at all.

Still, he couldn’t exactly say he wasn’t interested in what was happening, especially after everything he had experienced in Woster. If nothing else, he wanted to understand more about the outside world and what would happen to Woster now that its isolation had collapsed. So, despite feeling slightly awkward, he didn’t complain.

Zandal, on the other hand, seemed quite excited by the gathering. "Well then, hello, everyone! I’m Zandal, former Sect Master of the Rosvelt Sect. I’m a Peak Stage Law God and also the strongest Law God of Woster. I’m looking for a place to stay now that I’m finally free from the confinements of Woster. How about it? I don’t mind giving some help during these hordes you talk about, as long as no one bothers me with anything else."

Tobao and the others listened to that introduction and couldn’t help but exchange weird expressions. That sure was one hell of an introduction. Zandal had basically introduced himself, announced that he was the strongest person in his world, declared that he wanted housing, and then immediately set the conditions for accepting it.

"Ahem..." Tobao took the lead, recovering from the awkwardness. "Nice to meet you, Friend Zandal. Obviously, for Regions like ours, any extra Law God is extremely helpful. But first, how about you guys tell us about everything that happened while you were out?"

Arcis immediately agreed. "Yes, let’s do that. I already organized all my thoughts, and I’m going to send you the entirety of the events through a Celestial Sense message. Take your time to organize your thoughts before we continue this conversation."

And so Arcis did exactly that.

It took a few minutes for Tobao’s group to properly organize all the information in their minds. There was simply too much to process at once. The longer they went through everything Arcis had sent, the more shocked they became. Woster’s true nature as a prison, the ancient Thousand-Script Race cultivators, Azerion’s story, the collapse of the isolation, and the existence of the strange Echo were all enough to leave them stunned.

Yet, among everything they learned, the thing that caught their attention the most was the so-called adaptation to Godly Pressure.

Arcis and the others could now resist around seventy percent of the weakening effect caused by Godly Pressure. That alone was already an extraordinary advantage compared to the cultivators of Besgol. Zandal, Azerion, and Coyui, however, were completely immune to it.

Tobao took a deep breath as he looked toward Zandal. He finally understood that the man was truly a powerhouse in his own right. There was no exaggeration in Zandal’s earlier introduction. Most likely, even if all the Law Gods present joined forces against him, they still wouldn’t be able to take Zandal down. At most, they could force him to retreat. And if Zandal chose to flee into the Godly Creatures’ Territories, they would be practically powerless to pursue him.

Zandal would have smiled if he wasn’t just a blob of floating metal. "Seems like you understood the situation. So, how about it? All I want is a quiet place to stay for a while. However, I’ll tell you ahead of time that I have no intention of staying in Besgol forever. I just want to prepare myself and see if I can have a breakthrough into the Region. Regardless of whether I succeed or not, I’ll leave in the end. I guess a hundred or two will be the time I will spend around here."

Aurundi was also a Spirit, although he was a Voltari, and he spoke up from his place in the gathering. "Spirits like us have quite peculiar cultivation methods. I can only imagine that your cultivation probably requires metals other than just Godly Energy, right? That said, you will need to look for such materials or trade for them with the metals available to us. We need you to understand that unity is paramount in Besgol. We can’t have you forcing anyone’s hand, and you definitely have the strength for such."

Zandal didn’t seem bothered by the warning. "It is fine. I have plenty of resources to buy what I need from your people if I need to, and I intend to be fair. I will require one of these RCs that your Besgol Region uses so I can spend some time understanding how the value of things works here. From the looks of it, I can’t access the Besgol Network without a proper ID."

As Rean listened to them talking, he couldn’t help but lean slightly toward Roan and whisper, ’Once again, is there even any need for us to be here at all?’

Roan shook his head. ’We told Arcis and Tobao there wasn’t, but they were truly adamant about it. There has to be something wrong with them to want to rely on some Aura Gods like us.’

*Yawn...*

Kentucky yawned quietly from the corner. ’I could be out there, having a good time after years of work. But noooo... here I am, almost falling asleep while listening to them talk.’

Roan himself couldn’t blame Kentucky for feeling that way. He wanted nothing more than to return to their residence and start putting everything in place. They had obtained a considerable number of Orb Points, after all. More importantly, they could now enter the Vinx Great Void, which opened up possibilities that were far more interesting than sitting through another meeting.

The conversation continued for quite some time before ultimately ending with an agreement. Zandal would help the Besgol Region whenever Godly Creature hordes appeared, particularly when Godly Horrors were involved. In exchange, Besgol would provide him with a place to stay and allow him to trade for whatever resources he needed.

They were also extremely interested in Zandal’s idea of gathering Godly Horrors together and keeping them locked in a controlled area, allowing other cultivators to use the resulting high concentration of Godly Pressure to begin adapting to it.

Under normal circumstances, such a plan would have been considered completely crazy. They couldn’t bring the Godly Horrors within the Sacred Relic’s range because the Relic would eliminate the Godly Pressure they were trying to concentrate. That meant the experiment would have to be carried out outside its range, where the Godly Horrors themselves would also become a serious threat.

However, with Arcis and the others already possessing a considerable degree of adaptation and Zandal available to deal with anything that went wrong, the idea suddenly seemed genuinely feasible. At the very least, it was worth attempting.

Now and then, they also asked Rean and the others a few questions, especially about the Echo. Rean explained it in much the same way he had explained it to Arcis before, so there wasn’t any real issue. The only uncomfortable part came when Tobao realized that the twins had already known about the Echo even before leaving Besgol and had never mentioned it.

Still, even if the twins had told them everything back then, it wouldn’t have made much difference. Different from the twins’ group, they weren’t from the Vinx Great Void, and they had no way of entering it either. Knowing about the Echo wouldn’t have allowed them to reach it.

Seeing Tobao’s reaction, Arcis understood how he felt all too well.

It wasn’t until the end of that day that the meeting was finally called off. Aurundi and Kavile were asked to arrange accommodations for Zandal, and it was decided that Jufafner Country would be suitable enough for him.

Tomorrow, they would bring Zandal to see the Sacred Relic and explain more about the duties expected of a Law God in Besgol... even if everyone already knew that Zandal wouldn’t bother with most of them. It was part of the agreement, after all.

Finally, the twins’ group was allowed to return to their residence.

Well, their residence was also inside the Godly Subjugation Guild of Jufafner Country, so they didn’t really have to go anywhere. They simply left the meeting area and returned to their own space, intending to finally start reviewing everything they had gained from Woster.

However, just as they were about to begin, someone paid them a visit.

"Oh, for fuck’s sake!"

Roan complained without holding back.

The visitor was Tobao.

He wanted to talk to them alone.
