The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 857: The Day of the Conference Arrives

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

In a flash, the day of the Tripartite Conference arrived.

On this day, all the citizens of the Royal Capital woke up early and looked towards the lake island in the center of the city.

Because they knew that today, the leaders of all the named factions in Omnipotence would gather there.

A thousand years ago, Mitra, the founder and first king of the Mitra Kingdom, had gathered all the top figures of the Divine Race, the Demon Race, and the Human Race there to discuss peace.

A thousand years later, also because of a Hero, the leaders of the various races gathered once again.

Thus, early in the morning, luxurious carriages and grand processions formed groups, galloping through the streets towards the lake island.

On the bridge leading to the island, knights of the Royal Knights stood guard, verifying the identities of those arriving in the carriages and deciding whether to allow them passage.

Today, the lake island bridge was only open to the leaders of the various factions; ordinary citizens weren’t allowed to enter.

However, the destination of these leaders wasn’t the royal palace or the temple, but a palace built on the largest square of the lake island.

It was a palace built by the kingdom with a large amount of manpower and resources, aided by numerous court mages and expensive magic tools, taking a month to complete.

This palace had only one purpose.

To be used today.

The kingdom named it the “Hall of Glory.”

The venue for the Tripartite Conference was this Hall of Glory, meticulously built by the kingdom.

Carriages passed over the lake island bridge one after another, stopping in front of the Hall of Glory.

The leaders of the various factions, accompanied only by their most trusted and powerful guards, entered the Hall of Glory with serious expressions.

The internal structure of the Hall of Glory was also quite unique.

It didn’t have many floors, nor did it have a messy arrangement of rooms. Upon entering through the main gate, one could see an extremely vast hall, as large as the palace itself.

The hall consisted of two parts.

One was the outer conference area, and the other was the inner conference area.

The outer conference area resembled an auditorium, arranged in a circular, tiered fashion around the Hall of Glory, with rows of seats, looking quite magnificent.

These seats were for the leaders and experts of less prominent and powerful factions.

For instance, the kings of smaller and medium-sized human nations would use these seats.

Naturally, due to their influence and strength, they didn’t have much say in this Tripartite Conference, mainly serving as observers. They would only be involved when their opinions were needed or when votes were required for decisions.

The inner conference area was different.

Located in the center of the Hall of Glory, surrounded by the outer conference area, it resembled a throne, elevated like a platform, with only a long staircase leading to the top.

There, three large conference tables were set up.

The tables were arc-shaped, arranged in a triangle. If connected, they would form a large round table.

They belonged to the Divine Race, the Demon Race, and the Human Race, respectively, and only the top figures of each race could be seated there.

For example, the three goddesses of the Divine Race.

For example, the six Demon Lords of the Demon Race.

As for the Human Race, naturally, the leaders of the most prominent factions could be seated.

For humans, only the kings of the three major nations—the Mitra Kingdom, the Ragna Empire, and the magical nation of Laraby—along with their close aides and relatives, could be seated.

In addition, the Elven Queen and her close aides, the Dwarf King and his close aides, the chiefs of the high-ranking beastmen tribes, and the beastmen Priest Corps could also be seated.

It could be said that the people in this inner conference area were the most prominent figures in Omnipotence, their every word and action influencing the situation of a race or even a realm.

They were the ones qualified to speak and engage in dialogue at this Tripartite Conference.

They were the ones leading this conference.

Therefore, the inner conference area was located in the center, surrounded and elevated by the outer conference area, so that all dialogues and situations could be clearly presented to all observers.

Currently, most of the faction leaders and experts who had arrived at the Hall of Glory were observers in the outer conference area.

They greeted each other, then took their seats, waiting for the conference to begin.

The participants of the inner conference area hadn’t arrived yet.

They wouldn’t arrive so soon.

They would appear together and take their seats when the conference was about to begin.

That would mark the official start of the Tripartite Conference.

Just like that, as time passed, the starting time of the conference drew closer.

…

Divine Realm.

Before a massive Gate of Worlds, numerous goddesses gathered.

“Is everyone here?”

Lildas, as if she had been waiting for this moment for a long time, her face tense, exuded a seriousness she didn’t usually show.

“Yes, almost everyone is here.”

Anima, by her side, glanced around and nodded.

“Besides the three of us, there are twenty high-ranking gods chosen to accompany us, and they are all here now.”

Nadue also smiled faintly.

Upon closer inspection, the goddesses gathered here all exuded an extraordinary divine aura, clearly indicating their high status and strength.

Artemis was among them, standing quietly near Lildas.

As the Goddess of Justice and Order, although Artemis possessed strength that ranked among the top three in the entire Divine Race, she was still a high-ranking god, directly under Lildas, the Goddess of Fate, considered her subordinate.

Similarly, beside Nadue, three small goddesses were waiting.

They were Urd, Verdandi, and Skuld.

At this moment, these three silly goddesses were huddled together, looking incredibly serious, unlike their usual noisy selves.

Clearly, even they understood that today wasn’t a day for them to be boisterous.

But their eyes darted around, clearly indicating that they weren’t truly being obedient.

However, with Nadue present, they still restrained their restlessness, not daring to cause trouble.

For these three goddesses, who had just been “released” back to the Divine Realm by Sara two days ago and brought back by Artemis, not only were they embarrassed for being captured by the Demon Race for several days, but they had also failed to complete their mission of supervising the Hero. If they caused trouble again today, they definitely wouldn’t get away with it.

Therefore, they were unusually well-behaved today.

However, accompanying Nadue wasn’t just goddesses, but also an elf.

It was an elven maiden holding a holy staff, wearing white priestly robes, looking like a saintess.

“Are we going back to the Human Realm?”

Melika looked at the Gate of Worlds before her, a hint of excitement in her eyes.

She had been waiting for this day for a long time.

Nadue looked at this scene and gave Melika a loving look.

During this time, Nadue had witnessed Melika’s progress and growth, feeling joy in her heart.

Now, Nadue completely regarded Melika as her own daughter.

Therefore, seeing Melika so excited, Nadue was also very pleased.

She knew who her blessed one, who had inadvertently achieved such tremendous growth, was so excited for.

She was only this excited because of the sweetheart she had been thinking about, because she could finally return to his side.

Of course, not many people knew Melika’s feelings at this moment.

After confirming that everyone was present, Lildas coughed and spoke seriously,

“Since everyone is here, let’s depart.”

Hearing this, the goddesses present nodded in unison.

Artemis’s eyes flickered.

Recalling Sara’s declaration earlier, Artemis snorted inwardly.

“I’d like to see how you plan to steal our Hero.”

…

Demon Realm.

In the vast hall where the Gate of Worlds was located, it was now filled with people.

Sara, Lid, Kamina, Millu, and Airi were all present.

“Have you all made your arrangements?”

Sara looked at her sisters and asked this question.

“Yes.” Lid nodded first and replied, “I’ve already arranged the defense of my territory.”

The other Demon Lords also nodded in response.

“That’s good.”

Sara felt slightly relieved.

Due to its importance, no faction leader would choose to be absent from this Tripartite Conference.

The three goddesses of the Divine Race and twenty top-tier high-ranking gods had all been mobilized, so naturally, all six Demon Lords had to attend as well.

But unlike the Divine Race, with all the Demon Lords leaving the Demon Realm, it was hard to guarantee that nothing would go wrong.

The Divine Realm usually forbade entry to other races, quite closed off, and it was also quite difficult to enter. Therefore, the Divine Race didn’t need to worry much about its safety.

The Demon Race, however, was different. Their territory was vast and their population diverse, with fierce competition between various clans, and the Old Demon Faction lurking in the shadows. If the Demon Lords weren’t here, it wasn’t impossible for someone to take advantage of the situation.

Therefore, the Demon Lords had to arrange the defense of their respective territories before departing.

Lid, Kamina, Millu, and Airi had all left their executives in their territories, having them stand guard and defend against any incoming threats.

Shafney had also given Liel orders to guard her territory beforehand. Even though Liel was reluctant, she wasn’t allowed to follow to the Human Realm.

Sara naturally also left an executive in Central City.

Including Hartley, Sara had left all three Limit Level experts here, not intending to take any of them with her.

The same was true for other powerful demons; Sara and the others didn’t plan to take any of them.

In other words, although all six Demon Lords were attending this Tripartite Conference, none of them brought any guards or executives; only the six of them would be present.

They didn’t need guards either.

With the six of them together, they could even retreat safely while facing the entire Divine and Human Races.

Each of them was equivalent to an entire clan.

No, rather, without anyone to protect, they could act freely, which was actually more convenient for the Demon Lords.

Therefore, while the high-ranking goddesses of the Divine Race were all heading to the Human Realm, only these six Demon Lords would be attending from the Demon Race.

Shafney had already gone to the Human Realm ahead of time, and the remaining five sisters would naturally arrive in the Royal Capital today.

“There might be a tough battle today.”

Sara said with feeling.

The other Demon Lords understood what she meant.

“Are you worried about the Old Demon Faction, or about that man?”

Kamina said noncommittally.

Airi glanced at Kamina but didn’t say anything.

“Both, I suppose.” Sara replied casually. “I just hope today’s conference can smoothly lead to the outcome we all need.”

Undoubtedly, today would be a turbulent day.

The Old Demon Faction would definitely attack. Shien and the others could think of this, and as the number one strategist in the three realms, it was impossible for Sara not to anticipate it.

Sara had even envisioned the entire conference and was prepared for everything that was about to happen.

The other Demon Lords understood this best.

“Since you’re prepared, Sara, what are you worried about?”

Airi asked.

Sara glared at Airi.

“Of course, I’m worried about your man, whether he’ll do something shocking again and disrupt my plans.”

Sara’s words left Airi speechless.

She couldn’t refute.

After all, she also knew her man’s…demeanor very well.

Expecting him to be well-behaved?

Forget it.

Although…

“That would also be quite interesting.”

Sara curled her lips, smiling happily.

“Interesting! Interesting!”

Millu immediately started dancing excitedly, seemingly very happy.

“You have to be good today and not cause trouble, you hear me?”

Lid, perched on Millu’s head, said this.

“Okay~~~”

Millu raised her hand in agreement, though how reliable she was remained to be seen.

“Alright, let’s go.”

Sara waved her hand.

The Demon Lords transformed into streams of light, flying into the Gate of Worlds and disappearing.

…

Royal Capital, Buztout House.

Riley, Vivian, Diere, Lumia, and the others, along with the entire Buztout household, were at the main gate, preparing to see off the head of their family.

“We’re leaving then.”

Shien, dressed in noble court attire, the Holy Sword at his waist, smiled at everyone.

Only two people accompanied him.

One was Lilith, holding Shien’s hand.

The other was Shafney, standing there looking bored.

In the Buztout House, only these three were qualified to attend this Tripartite Conference.

As for Yulin, she was lying in the courtyard in her dragon form, opening one eye to glance at Shien before closing it again.

She would stay at the Buztout House.

Just in case.

If the Old Demon Faction attacked during the Tripartite Conference, the Buztout House’s defense would be of utmost importance.

Even though the Buztout House now had seven Legendary Level experts and numerous high-level combatants, facing the impending attack of the Old Demon Faction, Shien decided to be as cautious as possible.

Who knew what other tricks they might have up their sleeves?

Leaving Yulin here was absolutely necessary.

“Be careful,” Riley advised. “You’ll undoubtedly be the center of attention at this Tripartite Conference. Don’t fall into anyone’s trap.”

“And don’t be impulsive,” Vivian also advised. “Even the three goddesses and six Demon Lords will be present. At such an occasion, you absolutely cannot be impulsive or resort to violence, understand?”

“We’ll be waiting for good news here.” Diere said calmly.

“B-be careful…” Even Lumia timidly offered her concern.

“Don’t worry.” Shien didn’t make any promises, simply agreeing.

“Let’s go.” Shafney yawned and then urged him.

Lilith simply looked at Shien, waiting for his instructions.

Shien smiled, not saying anything more, holding Lilith’s hand in one hand and Shafney’s in the other.

In the next second, the three of them disappeared from the spot.

Their destination: the Hall of Glory.
