Chapter 3329: The Hunter

Chapter 3329: The HunterEditor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

After spending more than an hour, Fang Heng arrived in front of an S-level temple.

"That is..."

Fang Heng looked up, focusing on the more than ten large Netherworld creatures gathered outside the temple.

They were Corpse Stitchers.

These giant Netherworld creatures stood about three meters tall, with bulky, bloated heads and bodies covered in stitched-together facial features. Their entire right arms had fused with black chain scythes, giving them a terrifying appearance.

As tank-type creatures, their movement was slow, almost staggering with each step, and from the stitched organs on their bodies, dense auras of death continuously emanated, creating an oppressive presence.

Fang Heng raised his hand forward, and magic arrays appeared around him.

Death knights quickly condensed from the arrays, forming three-team formations that gathered behind Fang Heng.

"Charge!"

Warhorses neighed as the three teams of death knights simultaneously charged at the Corpse Stitchers from three directions.

The Corpse Stitchers sensed the danger, violently swinging their black chained scythes forward.

The scythes, wrapped in death aura, entangled the charging death knights, controlling them tightly, and with a powerful swing, slammed the knights to the ground, dragging them backward.

Fang Heng squinted, observing.

It seemed the Corpse Stitchers were not weaker than the death knights, able to subdue a knight with a single move.

Unfortunately, their attack targeted only a single opponent, while the death knights outnumbered them.

Death knights on the left and right flanked the monsters, slicing deep wounds with their rune long swords.

"Chi! Chi chi chi!!!"

Black death aura and stinking black pus poured from the wounds of the monsters, which rapidly self-healed.

As tank-type creatures, and combined with the Netherworld’s special terrain, such damage could not kill them.

Meanwhile, the death knights, possessing soul embodiment abilities, were not easily killed by the Corpse Stitchers either.

It was another prolonged battle.

Fang Heng observed briefly and, deciding not to waste more time, shifted into his soul body form and dashed past the battlefield toward the interior of the temple.

The S-level temple was roughly twice the size of a normal temple, but its internal structure remained similar. In the center stood a stone tablet tightly wrapped in black chains.

Fang Heng lifted his hand toward the stone tablet.

"Chi! Chi chi chi chi!"

Dense death aura surged toward the stone tablet. The holy sealing chains emitted repeated ’chi chi’ sounds, visibly corroding and aging rapidly.

After five minutes, the sealing chains lost all power and fell to the ground.

Fang Heng placed his hand on the stone tablet, channeling his mental strength.

"Buzz..."

A dark glow appeared on the stone tablet, and a small spirit light appeared in Fang Heng’s sea of consciousness.

[Hint: You have bound the Netherworld temple.]

[Hint: You have obtained a Netherworld transformed creature-Underworld Hunter.]

Done!

Fang Heng glanced at the game log.

Underworld Hunter? What kind of creature was that?

He had never seen it before.

Without the Pillars of Black Fog nearby, he could not obtain more information.

It did not matter for now.

After all, it was an S-level temple; it probably wasn’t bad.

Fang Heng’s right eye activated the God’s Eye.

As the God’s Eye operated, magic array marks gradually appeared on the outer layer of the stone tablet.

The God Clan had placed mechanisms on Netherworld temples to monitor their status.

After understanding the God Clan’s detection method, Fang Heng added a layer of modification to the stone tablet to mislead them.

It was not difficult, just slightly time-consuming.

Three minutes later, the glow on the stone tablet faded.

The modification was complete.

Fang Heng checked the time.

There was still a little time to return and discuss matters with the Undead Council instructors and coordinate the issues regarding the spirit fusion passage.

...

Twelve hours later, Adam returned to the main control room of the temple carrying a heavy sack.

The sack was packed full of Heroic Spirit Orbs that had absorbed spirit constructs.

Adam felt more exhausted than ever.

Twelve continuous hours of absorbing spirit constructs had reduced him to a mechanical state, endlessly swinging his spirit long sword and absorbing them into the orbs.

And the Shadow God still did not allow him to rest.

All Adam wanted now was a proper sleep.

However, as he pushed open the main control room door, he jolted awake completely.

What the hell!

The Netherworld magic array on the hall ceiling emitted a crimson glow, bathing the entire room in red light.

"What are you standing there for? Close the door!"

"Oh..."

Adam quickly entered the main control room, shutting the door, and carefully examined the ceiling array.

Fang Heng floated behind him in his soul body form.

God’s Eye!

"Whoosh!"

The ceiling array exploded with dark golden light, then slowly rotated. The red points gradually converted into pale green under the modification from the God’s Eye.

Zane watched Fang Heng’s actions with admiration, quietly asking, "Fang Heng, won’t the Church notice something unusual here?"

"No, I’ve simulated detection signals for the temple in the Netherworld. Unless they come in person, they won’t notice anything."

Zane nodded, thinking Fang Heng was a true professional, and he had been worrying unnecessarily.

Adam did not understand and dared not ask further.

He both feared and respected the Shadow God.

"Let’s go, Adam. I need you to improve your strength as quickly as possible. Understand?"

"Yes."

"So this is not rest time. Return to the academy; we need to rent an inscription room."

"All right."

Another round of work awaited...

Adam rubbed his tired eyes, forced himself awake, hoisting the heavy sack of Heroic Spirit Orbs, and hurried to the academy inscription room.

Seven hours later, Adam finally emerged from the inscription room at two in the morning.

As he reached the academy gate, a carriage stopped in front of him.

Adam, still groggy, only wanted to sleep.

A high-tier knight stepped down from the carriage, bowing slightly, "Mr. Adam, apologies for the late disturbance. Our young master requests your presence at the City Lord’s mansion."

"Young master?" Adam paused, then, noticing the triangular sword emblem on the chest, immediately became alert and asked, "You mean Young Master Augustine?"

"Yes."

Adam hesitated, then, following the will of the Shadow God in his mind, adjusted the sack on his back.

"Let’s go. Lead the way."
