Chapter 3352: Separation

Chapter 3352: SeparationEditor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

Thunder Basin.

The large vortex formed by the aura rotated for a full five minutes before slowly subsiding.

A small spirit crystal runestone condensed and levitated in the center of the magic array.

Adam carefully stepped forward and reached out to hold the runestone in his palm.

Before Adam could examine it closely, Zane arrived with a group of church guardians, their gazes focused on Adam and the others, and he demanded in a deep voice, "What are you doing!"

"A misunderstanding. We are students from the Holy Church Academy of Nassi City."

Seeing the church personnel approaching with force, Rudo raised his fists in a respectful gesture and quietly explained, "We came for an on-site scientific survey. We have already reported to the church in advance..."

Maer, unable to contain himself, quietly moved beside Adam and whispered, "How did it go? Was it successful?"

"Hmm, it succeeded."

Adam held the runestone in his palm and showed it to Maer.

"Impressive! So impressive!"

Maer nervously took the spirit runestone from Fang Heng, observing it for a moment. He swallowed carefully before glancing down at the magic array on the ground.

The traces inside the super-sized magic array were too complex and dense for him to remember in a short time.

"Hey, you there."

Zane confirmed the identities of the group with Instructor Rudo, then turned to look at the magic array on the ground. He muttered to himself before reaching toward Maer, "What do you have in your hand? Hand it over!"

Maer immediately clenched the runestone tightly and recoiled.

"What are you doing? This is ours!"

"The Thunder Basin is a church domain. Anything found here falls under church jurisdiction. You are merely students undergoing training; you have no right to take anything from here."

Zane could tell the runestone was unusual and decided to seize it first.

Maer’s face went pale and then green.

Zane said coldly, "What? Unwilling? Or do you want to come with me to the Inquisition?"

Rudo quickly stepped forward to intervene, scolding, "Maer, hand it over. If you have objections, you can raise them with the church afterward."

"Hmph!"

Zane let out a cold hum. In a flash, he appeared beside Maer, grabbed Maer’s right hand, lifted it into the air, forcibly pried open his palm, and snatched the spirit runestone.

"I’ve taken the item. I will report this to the church. Additionally, your training ends early today. I demand you leave immediately."

Maer watched helplessly as the runestone was taken, struggling and shouting, "Why? Give it back to me!"

"Control your student."

Zane threw Maer toward Rudo, his voice cold. "If there are issues, take them up with the church. Now you may leave."

Rudo caught Maer and immediately signaled to a few students to watch over him.

"Sorry for the trouble. We will leave now."

Instructor Rudo nodded to Zane and quickly led the students away.

Adam remained at the rear of the group.

Zane quietly asked, "Fang Heng, you just handed over the spirit runestone like that?"

"It doesn’t matter."

Fang Heng replied calmly, "The runestone isn’t the main point. The church already has plenty of these. Let’s go; we’ll return first."

"Yes, Shadow God."

Adam quietly agreed and turned to follow the group.

Zane, still somewhat uneasy, signaled to a few subordinate Oracles to escort the group out of the Thunder Basin, then focused his gaze on the magic array left behind in the basin.

"Spirit runestone..."

Zane muttered to himself, eyes showing surprise. He ordered, "Keep an eye on this place. Also, immediately make a copy of the magic array and submit it to the Eastern City church for review."

"Yes!"

...

D*mn church!

Maer returned to a hotel outside the Thunder Basin, still full of resentment.

He only thought about how to retrieve the runestone.

He would go to the Alchemy Society!

Have the elders negotiate with the church!

The spirit runestone was theirs! Why could the church just take it?

Right!

First, find Adam!

Maer stood up from his chair and went toward Adam’s room.

After knocking for a long time with no response, he learned from the hotel front desk that Adam had already left.

What?

Where had he gone?

Meanwhile, a thirty-member collection team had just arrived at the perimeter entrance of the Thunder Basin.

Damon and Adam had been waiting nearby.

"The raw stones for making holy gemstones were mined from the central region deep within the Thunder Basin. Church personnel won’t do this themselves; it’s usually outsourced to contractor teams," Damon explained quietly to Adam.

"All miners must go through inspection, and the materials are handed directly to our Alchemy Society for subsequent packaging."

"My identity doesn’t allow me inside. That one is Chekhov, the head of the small team. I’ve coordinated with them. You can mix into their mining team and go deep into the basin. Don’t worry, as long as you keep your mouth shut, nothing will go wrong."

"Understood, thank you."

"Wait," Damon stopped Adam, staring at him. "You promised me something."

Adam took several alchemy scrolls from his backpack and tossed them to Damon. "These are basic Tier 1 alchemy scrolls, elemental type. I also have many more scrolls, including Phase 2 to Tier 5. We can discuss further cooperation when I return."

Damon’s heart raced as he took the scrolls and studied them carefully.

Something valuable!

Even just Tier 1 elemental scrolls contained alchemy magic arrays that offered immense inspiration.

"Have you confirmed?"

"Yes, no problem."

Damon nodded to a stern-looking middle-aged mercenary nearby. "Take him in. You don’t need to handle anything else."

"Leave it to me."

The mining team captain, Chekhov, was a straightforward mercenary. Following Damon’s instructions, he had previously hidden materials during collection. It was naturally no problem to slip one person in this time.

Aside from the church, normally only the mining team could enter the deep Thunder Basin openly.

Chekhov glanced at Adam and reminded him, "The Thunder Basin is different from outside. We won’t protect you for whatever you do inside. You are not allowed to secretly take anything out. Understood?"

"Understood."

Chekhov said no more and waved for the mining team to continue.

Soon, the team passed the church checkpoint at the basin perimeter and entered the deep interior of the Thunder Basin.

Thunderclouds swirled densely in the sky.

They continued forward for over half an hour, crossing the basin perimeter. Ahead, another metal fence set up by the church appeared.

A sentry tower stood beside the fence.

Chekhov went to the tower to communicate with the church guards.

Fang Heng looked up into the sky.

Interesting.

The amplitude of spatial strength fluctuations in the inner region of the Thunder Basin was tens of times greater than at the perimeter.
