Chapter 3550: The Condition

Chapter 3550: The ConditionEditor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

Rodney and the Nether Emperor were both stunned.

Hearing that Fang Heng had gone to great lengths to find the Nether Emperor, they had assumed he was seeking cooperation. Who would have thought he would suddenly refuse to cooperate?

So decisive?

"What? Do you two have something you want to discuss in private? That’s fine too."

Seeing the two fall silent, Fang Heng merely assumed they had personal matters to discuss. He nodded and said, "Rodney, the God Clan will soon discover our presence. I’ll give you five minutes."

After speaking, Fang Heng stepped back and disappeared into the teleportation passage, leaving the Nether Emperor and Rodney staring at each other.

The Nether Emperor looked toward the exit of the teleportation passage, a thoughtful look appearing in his eyes.

"Rodney."

"Yes."

"How much do you know about that boy? How much of what he said do you think was true, and how much false?"

"I do not know much."

Rodney was also extremely curious about Fang Heng’s true identity. He shook his head and said, "However, he was able to deceive the God Clan and come here. His ability to disguise himself is very strong, and he was even able to break the seals..."

"It is hard to imagine that his disguise could fool the God Clan. But if he was sent by the God Clan, I cannot understand what his purpose would be."

A trace of appreciation appeared in the Nether Emperor’s eyes. He closed them to think for a moment, then opened them again and asked, "Is the Netherworld vortex still stable?"

"Although the vortex was transferred, its condition is good. The world is still operating normally."

"Does anyone else know the secret of the Netherworld vortex?"

"Rest assured, Nether Emperor. Aside from a few of us priests, absolutely no one else knows."

Rodney suddenly realized something and asked, "Nether Emperor, are you worried that Fang Heng was sent by the God Clan to extract from us the true power of the Netherworld vortex?"

"It does not seem likely, but that possibility cannot be ruled out."

The Nether Emperor narrowed his eyes slightly, pondered for a moment, then looked at Rodney and said, "I hope I am overthinking it. It does not matter. If he wishes to use us, we can use him as well. Go test him. Tell him that if he can take you out of here, the Dark Clan will be willing to cooperate with him and bring him to search for the Source of Hell..."

Rodney nodded solemnly. "Yes. I will obey the Nether Emperor’s command."

"I grant you the Nether Imprint. Command our kin and act as you see fit."

"Yes!"

...

Fang Heng waited for a moment on the fourth basement level of the prison. When he saw Rodney step out of the teleportation passage, he immediately placed both hands in front of him and condensed an imprint.

Buzz...

With holy power replenishing it, the seal that had been dissolved by Origin Power quickly restored itself.

Rodney was startled by Fang Heng’s move.

In less than two minutes, the temporarily broken holy seal had returned to perfect condition.

"Let’s go."

Fang Heng spoke and turned back toward the upper level.

Rodney followed and said, "Fang Heng."

"What is it?"

"The Nether Emperor agreed to cooperate with you."

"Is that so?"

Rodney had not expected Fang Heng to react so calmly. He said, "However, we need you to show sincerity."

"Fine."

As he spoke, Fang Heng once again shifted the imprint before him.

A faint golden light appeared on the sealed passage ahead.

"What does the Nether Emperor want me to do?"

Rodney said in a deep voice, "Take me out of here."

Fang Heng frowned. "That won’t be easy."

"This is the foundation of our cooperation. We believe you can do it. Once this is accomplished, we will also show our sincerity."

"What sincerity?"

"You are very interested in the Netherworld vortex, aren’t you?" Rodney looked at Fang Heng seriously. "After leaving the prison, I will take you to the Death Vortex. At that time, you will be able to observe it up close."

Fang Heng’s eyes lit up.

Not bad.

Leaving aside whether they could later cooperate with the Dark Clan against the God Clan, being able to see the Death Vortex was already worthwhile.

Perhaps through the Death Vortex, he could find the Netherworld vortex, and from the source of the Netherworld uncover the secret of the origin of its power.

Fang Heng stopped his hands.

Rodney asked, "What is it?"

"I will take you out, but I need some time."

"I understand. I’ve been imprisoned for so long already. I’m not in a hurry."

Fang Heng shrugged and turned back the way he had come.

"Hm? We’re not leaving?"

"No." Fang Heng spoke with a hint of complaint. "You should have said you wanted to cooperate earlier. Going back and forth like this wastes time."

"Uh..."

Rodney opened his mouth but did not know what to say. He simply followed behind Fang Heng, wondering what he intended to do.

Fang Heng returned once more to the fifth level of the prison. He looked around, then walked to a dimensional teleportation magic array deeper inside and rapidly condensed several imprints with both hands.

Holy light slowly flowed across the sealed magic array.

Rodney’s heart skipped a beat, and a serious expression appeared in his eyes.

"That is..."

Rodney did not know what Fang Heng was doing, but he could feel that the sealed alchemy magic array before them was being affected.

"The Tribunal of Sin is heavily guarded. I just infiltrated not long ago and don’t understand the situation outside very well. Taking you out directly would be too risky."

While controlling the magic array, Fang Heng spoke slowly. "But we can borrow the power of other prisoners to create some commotion."

Rodney’s pupils shrank suddenly as he realized. "You’re planning to break their prison seals?"

"Correct. When we entered the magic array earlier, we merely exploited a loophole. Releasing the prisoners won’t be that easy. It will take time."

As he spoke, Fang Heng continued using Origin Power to gradually weaken the seal.

His plan was simple.

Maintain the magic array’s surface operation as normal while using Origin Power to weaken it bit by bit, ensuring that the God Clan’s patrols would not detect any anomaly.

When the time came, he would only need a very short moment to simultaneously destroy a large number of prison seals and release the prisoners, using their strength to create chaos within the Tribunal of Sin.

"Gulp..."

Rodney swallowed carefully.

He knew Fang Heng could tamper with alchemy magic arrays, but he had never imagined he could secretly sabotage them and release prisoners without anyone noticing.

If things were truly as Fang Heng said, would that not mean even the Nether Emperor could escape?

However, even so, the Nether Emperor would not truly flee.

The God Clan would use the Dark Clan to threaten the Nether Emperor.

Fang Heng used Origin Power to dissolve nearly half of the magic array’s strength, then used alchemy to disguise the outer layer.

Unless a God Clan member highly proficient in alchemy examined it carefully, it would not be discovered at all.

And the God Clan’s patrols had always been lax.

"Let’s go."

After spending over an hour dissolving two magic array passages and estimating that the next God Clan patrol was about to arrive, Fang Heng stood up and returned the way he had come.

"R-right."

Rodney quickly followed.
