Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1633: Wang Tian’s Whereabout

Chapter 1633: Wang Tian’s Whereabout

"We’ve heard amazing stories of how great a swordsman your father is, but we never had a chance to experience it. Would you mind condensing an imprint of his skills to show us?"

’So, that’s how it is,’ Wang Wei thought. He realized two things. First, Ji Lanfang did not reveal his father’s true information, even though one — if not all three — Primals probably asked. He was worthy of his father’s trust and loyalty.

Second, the league was still worried about the Ultimate Sword Path Destiny. While Yan Hai was out of the picture, there could be complications if his father — the original owner of the destiny — returned to the Eternal Ascension World. While the contract they made with Yan Hai probably limited anyone from the sect from competing for the destiny, there are probably some loopholes. Wang Wei was unsure since he wasn’t present, but based on their current reaction, he could deduce that they at least had some concerns.

’Should I agree?’ Wang Wei weighed the pros and cons. Competition for destiny is not just about talent and strength, but about fame and influence. Unfortunately, his father had none of that. So, he could start building momentum to prepare for his return. The downside is that he’ll probably reveal some information.

"The last time I saw my father was after he proved the Dao, so if you don’t mind the imprint to be of that level, I don’t see why not," Wang Wei replied. His father should be much stronger by now and maybe reach a new height in his swordsmanship. So, Wang Wei did not mind revealing outdated information.

"No problem," said the Paragon who asked the question. They knew Wang Tian had been missing since his ascension. More importantly, his Emperor Tier Swordsmanship is enough to reveal his essence or foundation as a swordsman. They can use the information they have to extrapolate his potential and how powerful he can become.

"Very well," Wang Wei nodded. When he visited the lower dimension, he saw through time and witnessed all his father’s glory and majesty as the Second Heavenly Emperor. He then calmly raised his hand to condense a projection based on what he saw, his connection to Wang Tian, and the traces he left in the lower dimension.

"I’ll go first," said Paragon Brilliant Strike, who condensed an imprint with the same cultivation as Wang Tian. Then, the group watched the two projections fight. Brilliant Strike — who was known for his sword strikes that created a brilliant light that could affect his opponent’s senses — died after 11 attacks, creating a deafening silence in the room.

"I’ll try," said the Heart Blaze Paragon. Sadly for him, he only lasted five strikes before he was struck down. The third participant lasted 23 strikes, the fourth 18, and so on. More and more Paragons tried their luck, but the highest record has only been 53 strikes. Moreover, these people began to notice a pattern: the Extreme Sword Path cultivators did not last nearly as long as the Ultimate Sword Path, with the lowest record of 3 strikes even being recorded by them.

After nearly a hundred defeats, people started to get suspicious. They wondered whether Wang Wei had artificially increased the power of this projection to make his father look better. So, they tried other means to detect his lies, but it was to no avail. They even asked the Primals, and the answer they received was that he did not cheat. This was not the answer these proud swordsmen wanted to hear.

"I’ll go next."

Everyone looked at the speaker, and their expression became ugly. The situation would become even worse if this man surpassed them; it would be a nightmare if he set the highest record.

’Interesting,’ Wang Wei thought as he looked at Dugu Jing, the Golden Sword Paragon. Wang Wei always thought it was quite elitist for these people to divide sword users and swordsmen when everybody used a sword and only had different philosophies. But he was not a swordsman, meaning their way of life did not affect him, so he did not care too much.

’This guy is slowly amassing a strange destiny, and no one seems to have noticed,’ Wang Wei thought. ’Is he going to separate the Sword Users’ Destiny from the Swordsman Path? It seems that Jun Mengyao was correct. Grand Dao is slowly balancing out the destiny of Sword Dao.’

"Go ahead," Wang Wei said, and the outcome did not surprise him. Dugu Jing used to fight his father in the Dream World in the lower dimension during his reign. As such, the Golden Sword Paragon lasted 227 strikes. Wang Wei almost could not resist laughing after seeing the chaotic emotional aura emanating from these Paragons.

’Their pride has been shattered, so the next step is to regain face,’ Wang Wei thought. As expected, Jian Wushuang’s wife, Su Li, and a talented descendant of a Primal, also challenged the projection. Her battle lasted 203 strikes. A few others also participated, and they reached the hundreds. In the end, someone seemed to have ordered Ji Lanfang and Jian Wushuang to participate, so they also sent in a projection.

Jian Wushuang survived 249 strikes, and Ji Lanfang set a record at 387 strikes. However, despite their outstanding records, the banquet’s ambience was dreadful. What started as a plot for the league’s future revealed bigger internal issues.

"How about I give it a try?" Seven Strike said. He knew he could not allow the league’s morale to take such a big hit right before the war.

"By all means."

The battle between Wang Tian and the young Seven Strike was like injecting ecstasy directly into the veins for any decent swordsmen. In the end, the young Primal lost after more than 800 attacks. However, he did not look happy, which prompted Soft Lifting Sword God to intervene. The result was similar, only beating his predecessor by a dozen more moves.

’A bunch of cheaters,’ Wang Wei sneered. It’s common knowledge that of the three Sword God, Slaughter was the most talented, while the others were considered late bloomers. Wang Wei would understand if he was the one who went toe-to-toe with his father, but those two? He doubted they would even survive more than 150 attacks — at least, not in their youth.

All eyes were secretly on Slaughter Sword God, all full of hope and faith. "Your father is a great swordsman. I can’t wait to one day face him," Slaughter said with a deep voice.

"I’m sure he’ll also enjoy facing such a worthy opponent," Wang Wei smiled. Slaughter nodded, and nothing more. The banquet continued, but the joyous atmosphere was gone. These swordsmen had spent their entire lives being suppressed by Yan Hai, and now, someone else from the Dao Opening Sect, someone even younger, has also suppressed them. How could they not be aggrieved?

The banquet soon ended, and Wang Wei stayed at a luxurious pavilion that the league uses to receive honorary guests. The next day, Seven Strike and Soft Lift Sword God took him to an isolated dimension with a floating, yellow scroll more than 10 meters long and 5 meters wide. The thing looked like a map, but Wang Wei was unsure.

"Have you brought an item related to him?" Seven Strike asked.

"I brought a copy of his Emperor Scripture. Will that suffice?"

"It should." The two primals used their fingers to weave a spell, which turned the scripture in Wang Wei’s hand into a golden light that fused with the yellow scroll. Wang Wei was right to assume it was a map. The scroll immediately started to change, revealing different landmasses and locations. Finally, showed this dot with a string of numbers above.

"Those coordinates," Seven Strike uttered. "Isn’t that..."

"The Time Anomaly World," Soft Strike nodded.

Wang Wei frowned as he recognized that name. There are many strange and unique worlds in the Chaos Universe, and the Time Anomaly World is one of them. As its name implies, it’s a world surrounded by this very strange and potent Time Bubble that limits access. No one can enter or leave the world except at a specific period. Due to the nature of this world, it has become a haven for outlaws and criminals to hide, a refuge for hermits to escape the world, and a haven for desperate individuals who believe the mystery of the world holds the key to their prosperity.

’This is not as bad as I thought,’ Wang Wei thought. Of all the terrible places that his father could have ended up, this world could only be considered in the middle in terms of danger. In fact, Wang Wei was kinda glad it was this place, as it meant that even if Heavenly Book wanted to use his parents against him, he wouldn’t have the opportunity.

’I can’t celebrate yet,’ Wang Wei thought. He had no idea the extent of Heavenly Book’s knowledge and capabilities. Maybe he has a way to forcefully enter the Time Anomaly World. ’I need to send an avatar to calculate the next time the entrance will appear.’
