Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1695: Insurgent Primal

Chapter 1695: Insurgent Primal

Sanctification was around the corner. With three Saint Foundations, Saint Will Prototype, a bit of Saint Luck, and a created method, Wan Yanmei had a bright future ahead. Although she would have loved to condense another transcendent trait, such as the Saint Dao Heart, it did not matter in the grand scheme of things. All she was missing was enough achievement to condense a [Twelve Pillar Foundation], and she could show the world, her family, and herself that she wasn’t inferior to her sister. So, no matter what, she cannot kill that bastard and ruin her future.

Ksitigarbha immediately noticed the subtle change in her mindset, so he became even more aggressive. For a while, a strange sight was displayed on this side of this dimension: a golden woman vehemently pursued a woman, and she kept retreating.

’No, I can’t let him control the battle rhythm,’ Wan Yanmei thought. ’Since I can’t kill him, I can still seal or decapitate him.’ It was a shame that it was difficult for the citizens of the Infinite Divine Court to condense a golden body of merit. Their actions of invading numerous timelines make it virtually impossible not to ruin the golden body. More importantly, Grand Dao does not allow merit to descend into the Divine Timeline. The Highest Sovereign has his own merit system, but it can only be used in the Divine Timeline. All golden bodies will collapse after entering other realities.

Ksitigarbha noticed Wan Yanmei’s sudden change of tactic. It was easy to predict what she wanted to do. However, he only had one job: keep her here for as long as possible. As such, he also changed his tactics to counter her sealing attempts.

Heavenly Court, War Room:

Qiyuan calmly looked at Ksitigarbha’s situation. ’Wang Wei was right,’ he thought. ’Powerful oaths are a transcendent path. However, the oath must be something worthy of Grand Dao’s time, and this path also means being indebted to Grand Dao for a long time — maybe for eternity.’ How could someone ever purify all the sins of the Chaos Universe? Only a True Transcendent is capable of such a feat, so by the time Ksitigarbha can achieve his goal, he will have worked to death for Grand Dao.

’Maybe such immense karma is enough even to affect a true transcendent,’ Qiyuan shook his head. Unless he were desperate, he would never choose this path. While he was not as obsessed with freedom as Wang Wei, all cultivators — in some ways — strive to achieve freedom. Whether it’s from Grand Dao, the struggle, pain, and suffering of the cultivation, or fear of death and other things, everybody wants to be free of something.

Qiyuan frowned as he glanced at the other screens. ’These people are absurdly strong even for SSS-Class Primals. And from my observation, only the First Commander has a Saint Will prototype. So, what’s the source of their strength?’

Seven projections floated behind Cui Yi, six of which were the Grand Constructs, and the one in the middle was an Inner World. Without saying a single word, he punched his enemy, releasing a terrifying fist imprint that suppressed even the void of this dimension.

Soft Lifting Sword God — whose black robe was already drenched in blood — continued to use his Dao: Sword Lifting — one of the basic sword techniques. Lifting was an elegant way to attack and parry the enemy’s attack. With a flick of his sword, he diverted most of the punch’s strength to the side — at least, he tried to. Some of the forces are still traveling to his body and soul, resulting in minor injuries.

The Sword God was not one of the pedants of the Extreme Sword Path. After the Ultimate Taboo, he "saw the light" and started cultivating his flesh, even entering the 12th sword realm: Sword & Sword Unity — the body and soul are the swords, and the swordsmen hold a sword. With such a powerful body, he should be healing rapidly, but that was the opposite.

The enemy did not use any form of Dao Will, but the force from the attack was so condensed and pure that it created a mark with the same effect as Dao Will. ’Such a brilliant martial skill. Why did this man have to be a Dao Ruler?’

The number of Tier 12 Insurgents in the Eternal Ascension World would not exceed thirty-six. The majority of them spend their time alone because of the fear that some random Paragon might take offense to their existence and try to kill them. As a Primal, the Soft Lifting Sword God has never cared too much about these Insurgents because it was common knowledge that they could not become Primals. At least, that’s what he previously thought.

During the Ultimate Taboo, he had met a few Insurgents capable of fighting low-class Primals, but they used secret techniques with severe side effects. However, Cui Yi was a proper Primal with optimized souls. No, based on the latter’s subtle aura, the Sword God has deduced that his opponent might have even condensed one or more transcendent foundations.

’I can’t lose to a Dao Ruler,’ Soft Lift thought. ’I just need to bear it, wait for an opportunity, and destroy his Inner World.’

Cui Yi continued his steady barrage of punches, each attack further aggravating his opponent’s injury. Then, after his injury reached a critical point, Soft Lift counterattacked. He used the ultimate parry, not only reversing the strength of Cui Yi’s attacks back to him, but he also returned all the previous injuries.

’Now,’ Soft Lift thought. All those injuries were enough to slow down the opponent for a few seconds, which was the perfect time to attack. A terrifying sword light flew toward the Inner World, trying to incinerate its very core. However, something truly horrifying occurred: the Inner World trembled slightly before returning to calm. Meanwhile, Cui Yi looked at Soft Lift as if he were an idiot.

"You!"

"Your timeline may have suppressed the Dao Path, but not ours," Cui Yi sneered. His soul and willpower have already been combined with the mind of all the creatures of the Inner World to create a prototype of Heavenly Dao. So, even without interference, the attack would not cause much damage, and even if it did, it would be meaningless for several reasons.

Firstly, the Inner World can now minimize backlash and heal itself. Secondly, after becoming a Primal, Dao Rulers do not have to solely rely on their Inner World to bear the power of the Grand Dao Source. The Infinite Divine Court has deduced methods that allow Dao Rulers to optimize their souls 9 times: 6 times for each mastery of the Grand Constructs and 3 times for the Saint Foundations.

Once the process is finished, a Dao Ruler’s soul is not different from a Paragon’s. They can even attempt the regular Soul Quintessence Transcendent Path, but few do so because the chances of success are lower.

Cui Yi regained his composure. "Are there any Dao Path Saints in your court?"

"Many."

"As the saying goes: all paths lead to the same destination," Soft Lift said. He should have figured out that any of the paths can lead to transcendence. "I won’t look down on you anymore."

"Doesn’t matter to me," Cui Yi shrugged as he released his technique: [Ten Thousand Injuries Fist]. All his opponent’s injuries became nourishment to increase his power. The dimension trembled as Cui Yi punched, releasing an enormous black fist imprint. Soft Lift’s expression became ugly. He was not stupid and immediately realized his opponent had been preparing for him to reverse his injury.

’That bastard Time Eater must have revealed my information,’ Soft Lift thought as he acted to defend himself. Hundreds of transparent phantoms were released from his body to rush toward the fist. Each of the phantoms performed a parry to reduce the potency of the attack, but even after thousands of them dissipated, the attack still sent Swod Lifting flying away.

Cui Yi’s Inner World suddenly turned into a colossal image of himself, resembling a Supreme Realm’s Dharma Body. The phantom clenched its fist before punching the Sword God.

’I’m going to die,’ Soft Lift thought as that colossal hand reached toward him. He did not hesitate to use his most potent defensive technique: [Lifting Heaven and Earth]. With a sword in his hand, using time as the sword bone, fate as the guide, death as the sharpening stone, primordial chaos as the hilt, and endless sharp sword qi, there is nothing between Heaven and Earth he cannot parry or lift.

Boom! Soft Lift flew and crashed into the ground, his vitality on the verge of being extinguished.

’I thought the Sword Path League had a trump card that he would use at the last minute, but it appeared I was wrong,’ Qiyuan analyzed as he stared at the Sword God’s terrible situation. He feared the league had the capabilities of wielding the Sword Will in that broken sword, but so far, there is no sign or indication that they can do so.
