Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1787: Inheritance

Chapter 1787: Inheritance

"Are you ready?" Wang Wei asked while sitting cross-legged on a cushion.

"I am," Wangchen, who sat opposite him, nodded.

"Then, let’s go."

The two entered the Primal Essence Source in the shape of their spirit. They did not loiter around the lower white-red layers and soon flew up. Wang Wei followed the young man until they reached a layer considered the peak of the Willpower Manifestation.

A strange language emitted from Wangchen’s mouth as he cast a unique spell that used his bloodline as a medium. A red rune manifested in front of them before flying into the distance. The two followed the blood rune until they reached a large area without many Essence Marks.

Wang Wei couldn’t detect anything unique in this area, but he understood there must be a reason the spell brought them to this location. And, as expected, after Wangchen cast a second spell, an enormous door composed entirely of purple flame manifested.

"What an interesting method of preserving knowledge and legacies," Wang Wei thought. He created something similar in a lower dimension; he preserved most of the world’s knowledge in case a catastrophe like the Null Era occurred and civilization needed to be rebuilt. Of course, the primary reason for his actions was to ensure that if civilization restarted, the Origin System created by his predecessor could become the main system of the Myriad Emperor World, thus continuing to provide them with luck and fortune.

"I wonder whether there is hidden inheritance in the Grand Constructs back home," Wang Wei thought. A brief analysis indicated there are, and maybe even more. "Forget inheritance, there are probably countless things hidden in these constructs: from people hiding to people plotting, and more importantly, people using their powers to cultivate resources." At his level, he has probably only skimmed the surface of that place.

"Go and head; I’ll ensure no one disturbs you."

Wangchen nodded before glancing at the imposing door. He took a deep breath before rushing toward it. The immense construct seemed to sense the bloodline hidden in Wangchen’s body and slowly opened for him. Meanwhile, Wang Wei entered a state of high alert. All the clans that share a similar bloodline love nothing but when their counterparts die or are annihilated, as it means fewer resources. So, whenever one of them tries to revive themselves, they will interfere.

Less than half a minute after Wangchen’s departure, Wang Wei sensed a terrifying spirit rushing in his direction. He waited until the person was close enough to release a terrifying killing intent.

"This Fusan Bloodline is protected. Return where you come from," Wang Wei directly stated. The newcomer — a muscular, middle-aged man dressed in blue animal hide clothes and a fur coat, fierce eyes — stared at Wang Wei for a moment before glancing at the door. Without uttering another word, the man exited the Primordial Essence Source.

"This isn’t over, is it?" Wang Wei muttered to himself, pondering what his next move should be. No matter what he does, he cannot kill in this place; the best he can achieve is severely injure their spirits or mind. Since that was the case, fighting was pointless. He just needed to protect Wangchen long enough for him to pass the test and receive his ancestor’s legacy.

Without wasting any more time, Wang Wei started writing runes in the air. This secret realm has pushed their understanding and development of Essence or the body to the limit. However, other things are far beyond the outside. A perfect example is Array Dao. While this world has its own unique Profession System, it pales in comparison to the Primordial or Divine Timeline.

Ten minutes after Wangchen entered the legacy trial, the middle-aged man returned, bringing two other individuals with him: a man and a woman, both looking quite young. However, their age was not a sign of their strength. There must be a reason that man brought them as backup, and the most likely cause is their strength. The three did not utter a word before immediately starting their assault.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three mighty attacks rushed forward, but a transparent shield suddenly manifested and nullified their strength. The three attackers showed some shock, but they quickly regained their bearings and intensified their efforts. Sadly, it was futile. Wang Wei’s formation used the Essence Source in the environment and his body as a medium or array core to create a Yin-Yang Protection Array. Forget these three; in such an environment with abundant Essence Source, it would take the spirit of at least 10 5-star Ancestor Fiendgod Powerhouses to break this array.

"I can’t sense the aura of the Fusan Blood on you," the middle-aged man suddenly said. "Why do you want to get involved in our affairs?"

"Whatever this person has offered you, we can offer even more," the woman added.

"You’re wasting your breath."

"Why don’t you think about it? After all, compared to a branch that has lost its inheritance, we can offer you a hundred times more."

Wang Wei ignored these people. Over the years, his Fate Shadow Guard has done a great job infiltrating countless clans to steal their techniques. Although he hasn’t recognized these two, his people have probably compiled a library of these people by now, and if not for not wanting to draw attention, he would have stolen other things.

The three attackers stopped their actions to discuss among themselves. After a rapid analysis of the situation, they decided to seek more help. Typically, after showing such strength, it would be normal to accept the revival of this old lineage. However, the current situation of the Chaos Origin Realm has changed.

After disappearing for so long, the absence of the Father Saints has created an undercurrent that was waiting to erupt. Everyone knew that only the right catalyst was needed, and the world would plunge into chaos. And unfortunately, that catalyst arrived in the form of these Otherworldly Demons. Currently, countless clans are slowly and methodically swallowing weaker clans, while making alliances with more powerful ones.

Everyone knew something big was about to happen, and everyone was prepared. In troubled times, the return of any lineage is not a good thing — especially one with a backer as strong as Wang Wei. The more lineage a bloodline has, the more it has to compete for rare resources.

Wang Wei — who was paying attention to these people’s facial expressions and aura — realized their intention. He waved his hands to surround them with the formation. The attackers’ expressions turned ugly as they intensified their strikes. However, since they couldn’t break the formation when it was in defensive mode, they still couldn’t do it when it was used as a trapping array.

Wang Wei calmly waited for what felt like hours. He remained cautious, even after neutralizing the two attackers. Finally, the flame gate opened, and Wangchen walked out. "Well?"

"I got it," Wangchen nodded, but there was no joy in his voice or face.

"Good. In that case, let’s return home."

...

A month had passed since the inheritance retrieval. The route to the Heaven-Splitting Holy Land has been determined, and everybody has already packed up their things. The only reason the group hasn’t departed yet is that Wang Wei wanted to deal with Old Man Black Chess and the two primals from the Divine Faith Haven. Recent reports from the Fate Shadow Guard indicated these two factions had continued their alliance; they’ve been planning to wipe out a Thunder Chaos Demon Bloodline with a 3-star powerhouse.

"Their strength has probably returned to 2-star, but the Saint Foundation Method is stopping them from forging ahead," Wang Wei analyzed. "This clan is the perfect target: capable of being destroyed with their alliance and containing at least 1 Saint Foundation Method."

After analyzing the data, Wang Wei did not waste any more time before heading directly to the Thunderstrike Domain. Old Man Black Chess, Shen Tian, and Nature Wrath were having a secret meeting in a hidden house not too far from the Leiji Clan.

"...Once they are destroyed, we will receive 70% of the resources, and 30% will go to you," Shen Tian said. "And as you request, the copy of their Saint Foundation will also be yours? Do we have an understanding?"

Shen Tian frowned after not hearing an answer, "I think this is fair since two of us will be fighting and risking our lives, while there is only one of you."

Old Man Black Chess did not answer; his mind seemed to be in a daze, lost and wandering somewhere in the endless cosmos.

"Hello, are you even listening?"

"Hmm? I’m sorry," Old Man Black Chess smiled, but it was obvious it was forced. "I agree with the 7-3 distribution as long as I’m guaranteed a copy of the technique."

"Is something wrong?" Shen Tian asked. The Old Man Black Chess he knew was meticulous; the very definition of an old fox. So, why was he acting so listless and out of character today?
