Chapter 1812: The Class of Pinnacle Ancestral Powerhouse
A purple aura enveloped Lin Fan’s fists as he blocked the punch. The terrifying force pushed him more than ten million kilometers from his spot, leaving a scary drag mark on the ground. The bones in Lin Fan’s hands — the bones that could be used as pillars to support an entire world — cracked, almost shattered.
Before his opponent could gain his bearings and heal from the previous attack, Wang Wei teleported in front of Lin Fan and gave him an uppercut. Having figured out his opponent’s tactic, Lin Fan immediately reacted by drastically increasing the weight of his body; in that moment before the punch landed, Lin Fan weighed as much as primordial chaos itself.
Boom!
The power of the World Destruction Punch was too concentrated. With one punch, Lin Fan flew in the sky, losing control of his body. The vibration even affected his mind, slowing his thinking and response times. With his flying trajectory, Lin Fan was expected to crash into one of the stars above the sky, but Wang Wei was already waiting for him with a terrifying kick.
In the spirit of the Earth Element aspect of his World Destruction Punch, Wang Wei’s kick continued with the same theme. His legs borrowed the power of the entire earth, almost as if he was bringing the judgment of nature or Mother Earth upon his enemy.
With such a devastating attack, Lin Fan’s suffering should have been immense. However, he was a high-level cultivator and quite talented in battle. Even with his mental capacity, his body acted on its own to protect him. First, the [Rejecting All Phenomena] attribute was activated, rejecting the Force Dao and Earth Dao from Wang Wei’s kick.
Second, a passive Chaos Domain was activated to protect him. The domain — which functioned on the principle that everything will return to Chaos — nullified a significant portion of Wang Wei’s attack. These two powers worked in tandem so well that Lin Fan was able to control himself and land on both feet, creating a crater—no, to be precise, a small canyon.
"His attacks are too powerful. I need to do something," Lin Fan thought. With all his experience, he knew how important control of laws and powers were, but he never thought they could reach such a terrifying level. Using the same amount of strength as him, Wang Wei’s attacks are at least 150% stronger, and that’s being generous.
"Do you need help?" Hundunxi asked.
"No. Don’t interfere," Lin Fan warned.
Wang Wei landed before his opponent and attacked again. Lin Fan immediately deployed his domain to the full extent of its power. In the surrounding thousands of miles, all attacks directed toward Lin Fan will be decomposed and return to their most primal force.
Boom!
Lin Fan took a few steps backward before vomiting a mouthful of blood; his internal organs were shaken. However, such an injury without the power of Saint Will was child’s play. Despite how things looked, he successfully blocked the attack.
"Primordial Chaos, huh? The Heaven-Splitting Holy Lang got its name because its founder claimed to have split Primordial Chaos. Do you think I haven’t learned anything from them?" Wang Wei sneered.
Lin Fan witnessed another beautiful but terrifying punch. This particular one could be described as a pure Fist Intent or Fist Will. The thrower wanted to split Primordial Chaos, and his willpower is so domineering that reality bends to his fist to achieve his desire. The worst part is that the Saint Will used in this attack was also so well controlled that it was scary.
"Dao gives birth to one. One gives birth to two. Two gives birth to three, and three gives birth to all things.
"Dao gives birth to Chaos. Chaos gives birth to Yin-Yang. Yin-Yang gives birth to Heaven, Earth, and Human, and Heaven, Earth, and Human encompass myriad things."
After Lin Fan chanted the incantation of his spell, the Primordial Chaos of his domain transformed; it was no longer as simple as Primordial Chaos. Instead, the domain evolved the process of creation. Chaos turned into the Five Tais (Taiyi, Taichu, Taishi, Taisu, Taiji) and finally Yin-Yang. Once the two polarities were established, the Five Elements evolved next, followed by all things between Heaven and Earth, including Humans in the middle.
Lin Fan’s technique was brilliant; a superb display of his mastery of Chaos and countless other Daos. However, none of that mattered. Wang Wei’s punch contained the will to split Heaven and Earth, and that’s exactly what it did. The only good news — at least for Lin Fan — was that the evolution of Chaos dramatically reduced a lot of the fist’s power.
Lin Fan’s arms exploded into a bloody mist, and half of his head collapsed like an inflated balloon. However, a strange smile crept on the corner of his mouth. He had blocked the punch. The amount of Saint Will Prototype who managed to bypass his defense and embed itself in his body was pitifully small; they could only delay his regeneration by a few seconds. Of course, Lin Fan did not have a few seconds; Wang Wei wouldn’t even wait for another nanosecond.
This time around, Wang Wei did not punch or kick. Instead, he charged at Lin Fan like a mad bull who wanted to trample on everything in its path. With the terrifying power of his body, the only fate awaiting his enemy was for all the atoms in their bodies to be scattered in all corners of the world.
Bang!
Wang Wei hit something, but it wasn’t flesh and blood. A towering three-legged purple-gold cauldron with drawings of primordial creatures stood before Lin Fan, acting as the ultimate guardian. "His Proving Dao Artifact?" Wang Wei thought. Although he hadn’t fought Lin Fan since their time as mortals, he knew enough information about the latter to recognize the artifact.
The cauldron — which had no lid or its owner didn’t use it — released a faint smoke that seemed to embody the very essence of Primordial Chaos itself. The cauldron flew 10 meters above the sky before releasing an immense suppression power. Wang Wei — the primary target — immediately felt stuck in a quagmire. His strength, soul, mind, willpower, and even control over his powers were suppressed.
Years ago, after Wang Wei warned him he may be a pawn of the Chaos Demon Gods, Lin Fan tried to leave a way out for himself. The design concept of this Proving Dao Artifact was to use the power of Primordial Chaos — the source of all Dao — to suppress all Daos.
Despite how it looks or sounds, the cauldron was not a Chaos Attribute Artifact. The primary attribute is [Suppression], while Primordial Chaos is used as the source of power. Before meeting Hundunxi, Lin Fan had fused countless non-Chaos materials to the cauldron. He hoped that if the Chaos Demon Gods tried to take over his body, he would blow up the Primordial Chaos Attribute of the cauldron — which should buy him time or serve as a trump card — before using the [Suppression] attribute of the artifact to fight for a way of survival.
Even to this day, even after coming to an accord with Hundunxi, Lin Fan still left the cauldron as a way out. Any old cunning fox of a cultivator will know never to put all their eggs in one basket. No matter how good their relationship has become, Lin Fan knew he was still an ant compared to Hundunxi. Ants and elephants cannot become friends.
Wang Wei looked disdainfully at the cauldron; this thing dared to suppress him? A domineering intent materialized around his fist before trying to punch the Proven Dao Artifact into oblivion. His attack was effective, but that’s exactly what Lin Fan wanted. The cauldron tilted over, spilling this strange liquid. At first, the liquid was purple, but by the time it reached the ground, it had transformed into two shares: one black and one white.
The black liquid released a frost attack so potent that it would make absolute zero look like ice water from a refrigerator. Wang Wei had no chance to distance himself, stopping all the momentum from the previous attack. More importantly, he gave Lin Fan room to breathe and recuperate.
The second liquid — the white one — turned into a nourishing potion that instantly removed the last bit of Wang Wei’s Saint Will Prototype, providing Lin Fan a chance at regenerating his lost arm and other injuries. As he glanced over, he saw Wang Wei already breathing fire to eliminate the frost attack, leaving him with a small window to act.
[Heavenly Dao Soul]
Lin Fan has been analyzing Wang Wei’s ultimate mastery and contemplating how to deal with it. After deducing countless possibilities, Lin Fan realized that the way Wang Wei controlled his strength reminded him of Heavenly Dao — to be precise, of True Heavenly Dao. He figured Wang Wei’s technique might have used the latter for inspiration.
Using this information as a basis, Lin Fan developed a technique that allowed his soul to mimic the Heavenly Dao, temporarily reaching the same level of control as his opponent.
