Chapter 1840: Different Position, Different Mindset
The War of the Five-Color Treant started with the invasion of the White Treant. At first, each race tested the others, mostly debating, with a few casualties. The few people who discovered that killing can absorb the enemy’s [Seed of Perfection] did not immediately want to share this information with the masses.
Unfortunately, the White Treant was the first race to spread this information. So, with profit at stake and a desire to prove their superiority, they began a war by invading all the other territories. Yes, in their hubris, the White Treant invaded all other races simultaneously. As the ruler of the central region, they had borders with all other races, allowing them to open a four-way battlefield.
Following the initial invasion, the White Treants achieved immense success. The other races were not yet prepared for a war, and after absorbing countless seeds, the warriors of the White Treants became even more powerful. For a while, they fought four races at the same time and held on — no, they dominated.
That was until the Red Treant in the west started the [Self Evolution Program]. Showing their ruthless nature, the Red Treants created a program in which they took their most powerful warriors, forced them to kill each other until only a few remained. As such, the Red Spartan Treant Legion was born.
The Red Spartan Legion became a nightmare for the White Treant on the western border. They massacred their way on every battlefield. And with each victory, they became even more powerful. After only a few hundred years, the White Treants were not only driving out of the Western Region, but they also lost some of the territories in the Central Region.
The situation further aggravated when the other color treants followed in the footsteps of the Red Spartan Legion. With the Yellow, Black, and Blue Spartan Region appearing, it didn’t take long for the White Region to be on the verge of extinction.
Wang Wei — who was watching all of this while complaining at his creation’s lack of ability for naming things — calmly analyzed the situation. The Gu Raising Method is excellent. In this short period, a few of the treants have already met the requirement to heal some of their injuries. However, now was far from the time to reap the reward. So, he continued observing.
The war continued, and at first, it appeared as if the White Treants would be the first perfect race eliminated from this world. However, soon, the ruler of the central region showed that their perfection might have manifested as complete mastery of the Art of War. With a bit of maneuvering, the White Treant manipulated the situation, and without knowing it, the Blue Treant in the East and the Black Treant in the North started fighting. And soon afterward, the Yellow Treant in the South and the Red Treant in the West followed.
With the neighbors occupied, the white treant could finally breathe and recuperate. While its enemy was depleting its strength, the white treants slowly recuperated. Once they were powerful enough, they didn’t immediately rejoin the war. Instead, they became a mercenary nation of sorts. Whoever paid them — in the form of Perfection Seed — is whom they fought for.
At first, most nations didn’t believe these traitorous white treants, but when the yellow treants used their aid in a major victory, they became a hot commodity. From that day on, whenever a nation needed a slight edge over the others, they hired the white treant. And with the motto that their services will go to the highest bidder, the white treants prospered.
Years of war continued, and the four nations soon realized something: their populations were too small. While years of war have created some of the most powerful treants in the world, the lower and weaker population is too small. At first, they didn’t care, but war requires a production chain of command, and things began to slow down.
More importantly, although they stopped using the [Self Evolution Program], these nations understood that a large population was the key to success. Realizing this, the four nations began discussing a temporary peace after literally millions of years of war.
Unfortunately for them, a tiger that had been lying low suddenly pounced. With a large population, the white treants initiated the cruelest of self-evolution to create the most horrific of powerhouses. Then, they spread through all four corners of the world and eradicated everything in their paths.
The first race to fall was the Red Treant. As the first nation to deal a blow to the White Treant’s pride, they garnered the nation’s ire, and they were soon wiped out. After the genocide of the Reds, the black treants were next. The three nations allied together, and by all accounts, they should have been able to hold on for a while, and maybe even reverse the situation. Unfortunately, they couldn’t trust each other even in such a dire situation.
During a key battle, the black treants waited for reinforcements, but political machinations delayed their arrival. After that single defeat, their race was soon removed from the [True Perfection Continent]. And after absorbing the powers of two nations, the white treants became unstoppable. In less than 10,000 years, they were the only race left in the world.
"We can finally move to the second step," Wang Wei thought once the war ended. Before the white treant could celebrate their victory and dominance, an idea suddenly popped into their minds: they had proven they were the true perfect race, but who among them is the most perfect white treant?
The aftermath of this thought proved why ideas are dangerous. A civil war immediately spread throughout the white treant. As a nation that built its success on killing its own kind, they had no problem turning on each other. And with so many years of resentment and no foreign threat to take the pressure off, Wang Wei did not wait long before chaos and war broke out after whispering the idea of a true, perfect being into their minds.
By the end of the war, only 12 White Treants remained. These twelve represented the pinnacle of power, strength, dignity, and nobility. And since neither could defeat the other, they decided to meet to end the war.
"So, it’s decided. From now on, we will be the 12 Supremes, each with their own territory," Prime White Treant stated. As the most ancient of all the supremes, he acknowledged the others’ seniority and allowed them to conduct this meeting.
"Nine is the extreme, and twelve symbolizes perfection. It’s truly fate." A voice suddenly echoed in the room, alerting everyone.
"Who is it? Show yourself." The 12 people in the room should have been the only remaining life in the world. One of the key discussion topics for this meeting was the division of territory and repopulating the world.
Wang Wei appeared in the sky, glancing at all of them. Immediately, the treants felt powerless. All their powers, dignity, and perfect nature paled in comparison to the being in front of them. They knew it, and this fact brought them endless shame and anger.
"You are real," Prime White Treant said. "You are the creator, aren’t you?"
"I remember you. You’re White Little 3300," Wang Wei said. All treants started with 3,800 Innate Beings, and the Prime White Treant was among them.
"Hahahaha," Prime White Treant laughed like a madman.
"Prime, explain what’s going on," someone roared after feeling uncomfortable. The others felt that something terrible was going on, and it seems that only Prime had some knowledge.
"We treated all sentient beings as nourishment for our path. But in the end, we were also fruits to be picked," Prime White Treant sighed. The supremes were not stupid and immediately connected many things: their ability to absorb the Seed of Perfection, the intense pleasure of reproduction, the endless war, the ideology of perfection, and everything else. Then, they looked at Wang Wei in horror.
"Don’t look at me with such resentful eyes. I created you, so what’s wrong with taking back the life I sowed?" Wang Wei casually stated before pausing. He realized his current state is probably how Grand Dao feels. After creating and molding all life in the universe, what’s wrong with forcing them to follow her rules? It’s not like she was even killing her creation the way Wang Wei was.
"Different positions require different states of mind," Wang Wei thought, not caring about how hypocritical his criticism of Grand Dao became based on what he’s currently doing. If he were in Grand Dao’s place, he probably would have acted with even more impunity. But since he’s now one of the people being suppressed, it’s normal to vilify her and fight back as much as possible.
"Alright, enough wasting time. Villains die because they talk too much, so let’s end this as quickly as possible," Wang Wei stated. He only showed up out of curiosity after seeing that only 12 remained.
"No, I refused to accept this," a Supreme roared before activating his power. The others followed, and some realized the situation was futile and chose to destroy their Seed of Perfection. Sadly, it was useless. With a thought, all these Supremes fused into one, creating the ultimate seed.
