Cheng Wei winced in pain. “How dare you? Let go of me!”

“I did as you asked and let you stay,” Yao Tang said slowly. “You said you wanted to see how I’m going to cure the old lady, not that you’re going to interfere with the treatment. That’s the only reason why youre still in

this room. Do you understand?”

“Your so-called methods are nothing more than a hoax!” Cheng Wei blurted out. “They’re groundless and unproven. Are you sure you can afford to delay the proper treatment that Grandma needs?”

Yao Tang’s eyes flashed. “I already said that I will cure her.” Her patience was wearing thin, and it was apparent in the way her voice had gone dangerously soft. “Never interrupt me again.”

After saying that, she flung Cheng Wei’s hand away. A chill went around the room as they registered the threat that hung in the air.

“How, how dare…” Cheng Wei’s outrage was teetering on the edge of control at this point, but her words somehow stuck in her throat.

The housekeeper hurriedly stepped in and pulled the mistress to the side. “Come now, Young Miss. For now, let’s wait and see if this young lady’s treatment works.”

Yao Tang had already turned away and carried on with her methods.

Finally, the 12 meridians had stopped bleeding.

She proceeded with the acupuncture points named he gu and tai chong, which marked the end of the session.

Behind her, Cheng Wei’s face had turned purple with rage. She glanced at the other people present one last time before turning on her heel and storming out of the room.

She knew she couldn’t do anything to Yao Tang in front of her Sixth Uncle and Third Brother, but it didn’t matter. Within an hour, they would all recognize her as a fraud. The Old Madam would not wake up, and that

scammer would never leave the capital alive!

As soon as Cheng Wei stepped out into the hallway, her relatives rushed over and surrounded her. They simultaneously bombarded her with questions about the matriarch’s condition.

Naturally, she relayed the situation without reserve.

“That’s just absurd!” The Cheng family’s fourth uncle roared. He made to barge into the room. “I’ll go and take a look—”

“Fourth Uncle!” Cheng Wei stopped him, her face arranged in an expression of helplessness. “Third Brother himself insisted that the girl treat Grandma. I’m afraid there’s no use in any of us to try and protest.”

Cheng Ruo snorted and rolled his eyes. “We’ll wait then. Let’s see how the main family is going to take responsibility if anything happens to Mom.”

As expected, each of them had their own ulterior motives and vested interests in this unfortunate twist of fate.

If it came to it, the main house would have to be accountable for Cheng Yan’s actions today.

Half an hour later.

The Old Madam’s door opened at last. The housekeeper walked out of the room, followed by Yao Tang and Cheng Zhou.

The moment Yao Tang noticed the police officers who were seemingly waiting outside, her dark eyes narrowed.

‘Want to have me arrested, huh?’

Cheng Wei pushed forward and grabbed the housekeeper’s hands. “Mother Jiang, is Grandma awake?”

The old maid sighed and shook her head, her face etched with worry. “The Old Madam is still unconscious.”

“Well, it looks like I was right all along,” Cheng Wei sneered at Yao Tang. “If you’re really so capable, then I would have seen your name on the ranks of medical experts.”

This girl might have learned a thing or two, but that didn’t mean she had what it took to challenge someone like Cheng Wei.

With this mortifying result, the swindler could finally be put in her place.

Yao Tang kept her expression neutral and said nothing.

As for Cheng Rou, he looked even more unsightly than his niece. He turned to the police officers and gestured at Yao Tang with his chin. “Take her away and charge her with medical malpractice.”

With her hands tucked in her pockets, Yao Tang cocked her head indifferently at the men, decidedly unfazed.

She was certainly arrogant, no doubt about that.

She practically looked down on everything and everyone.

One of the officers cleared his throat, then he and his partner took out their handcuffs and approached her.

Suddenly, Cheng Zhou stretched out his arm in front of Yao Tang, stopping them in their tracks. He swept a scathing look at his relatives before speaking. “Medical malpractice, you say? Do you have any evidence to

back up your accusations?”

“She stabbed Grandma with her needles and bled her!” Cheng Wei screamed. “And for what? Grandma still hasn’t woken up! If that isn’t malpractice, then I don’t know what is.”

“Wei, don’t waste your breath trying to talk some sense with him. Go inside and perform the surgery as initially planned.” Cheng Ruo glared at the policemen. “Take that liar away!”

“I’d like to see you dare!” Cheng Zhou thundered.

“Of course I dare!” Cheng Ruo countered. “Don’t forget that I am still your uncle, Cheng Zhou! You are no longer in a position to be making decisions for the family by yourself!”

“You!”

Cheng Zhou’s face twisted menacingly. He glanced sideways at Yao Tang then, only to find her watching nonchalantly from the sidelines, like a spectator of some drama. It made him all the more exhausted.

How could she be so calm when she was just minutes away from being dragged down to the police station?

True enough, the godly young girl wasn’t feeling the slightest bit anxious. After all, she had no reason to worry..
