Re-Birth of a Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 1941: Intervening

Chapter 1941: Intervening

The surface of the mountain at the peak started melting.

It looked like a giant candle, except that there is no wick. It started melting and the molten rock and soil which is very dense started flowing down. But after it reached a few feet, it started morphing into something.

The molten rock turned into a bird.

It looked like a raven and after it morphed into the shape, it immediately took off. Sam was surprised by the size of it. It is just a little bigger than an actual raven. It is not gigantic.

But it held so much energy.

He activated his energy vision to check and Sam felt like he was woken up by a slap in his face. The lump of molten rock held more vitality than a thousand year old tree and it is burning that vitality with that fire to transform it into energy.

This small lump slipped past the skeletons that are fighting the cultivators and the formations to go straight for a cultivator who is almost exhausted.

Sam made his move at the same time.

As the bird came, the cultivator reacted in time and slashed his saber at it. But he wasn't able to defend against it. The bird clashed against the saber head on and broke it. Apart from that, the impact spread to the arm of the cultivator along with the bright orange flames.

The raven then broke the arm at the shoulder with a single hit.

When the raven wanted to blow the head of the cultivator, Sam finally intervened. A kick filled with ice elemental energy landed squared on the back of that bird.

*BOOM*

With an explosive sound the bird was kicked to the side of a mountain wall and crashed into it.

A crater appeared and within that a large lump of ice surrounded the glowing and flaming orange lump of rock. The ice started melting immediately. Sam noticed that there is a crack on the back of the bird, but his kick wasn't enough to destroy it completely.

He was surprised again.

It might not be a full powered blow, but the attack is not insignificant. To think that a lump of rock will survive this is surprising. Sam didn't let it go. As soon as it broke through the ice within the crater, Sam appeared near it and threw a punch.

This time the bird didn't survive.

The bird broke apart, but the fire didn't stop burning. The rock held so much vitality for some reason and the fire burning that vitality is keeping that bird 'alive'. Sam used his ice to freeze the rock over and kill those flames.

The bird finally 'died'.

Sam looked at this and then he looked at the large mountains surrounding them. The fire on the mountains is burning brightly. Just from a look, he can see how the rock is melting bit by bit. He knew what is about to come.

If by any chance these flames manage to melt down the mountains completely, the number of birds that come out of them would be too many for him to count.

No matter how strong the formation is, how powerful the defense is, if a bird is strong enough to take two blows from Sam, there is no way the formations could survive.

The god this time didn't hold back at all.

"Fucking hell."

Sam cursed under his breath as he looked at the new ravens being created out of the mountain tops.

He flew out immediately on harbinger. His water elemental energy raged and soon it turned into ice elemental energy. But that is not all, he started pumping his ice elemental energy into harbinger through his feet.

A frost cloud formed around him and created a trail as he moved around the mountains. Within those fiery mountains he stood out like sore thumb.

As soon as the people saw Sam moving out, they wanted to scream and cheer on top of their lungs.

Particularly the clan leader of the city.

He has been nervous since the start of the disaster and when Sam said this is going to be a long one, he felt like he swallowed a bug. He is already vexed that Sam said he would only passively contribute, now on top of that, a long disaster as they are the finale of this disaster series.

He felt like he couldn't just catch a break.

And each stage of the disaster proved to be right. There are all kinds of twists and turns. First came the floods, then came the beasts and then the fiery mountains with flaming skeletons. Now molten rock turned to ravens that are on fire.

Sam flew over with his frost cloud and intercepted a flock of these ravens that came at the city.

Since Sam came at them, they obviously took him as the target and charged at him. But if they want to get near him, they have to enter the frost cloud which reduced the flames by a significant margin. If the cloud is one thing then Sam's hits are another.

So, as soon as he made the move with the staff full of ice elemental energy, the birds were destroyed.

Not just destroyed, Sam sent them along with a ton of frost energy into the fiery mountains near them. As soon as the bird landed on the mountain walls, it created a small area full of frost energy and put up the fire in that short area.

Of course, the flames around raged more and devoured it in the end, but the intensity of the flames reduced in that small area.

After sending over ten birds one by one, Sam understood that the rate at which these birds will come is only going to increase with time. He would need a proper set up to deal with them. He cannot fight all of them head on.

He called for his beasts.

"Stop them as much as you can. Don't get injured."

He gave those simple instructions and went back to the city. He met with Sandhya and said.

"I want every single formation master in the city to be right here. Even if they are mediocre it doesn't matter, bring them here right now."

Then he proceeded to set up the formation needed. He is creating the resonance formation he used to deal with the giants in the previous mission.

He took out the humanoid puppets as well as the cannon staves they used. He used the harbinger and puppets to scout the mountains once more to figure out the proper location to place these puppets.

The problem right now is the formation's range is not that vast and he had only tried it on a flat terrain.

Now that he has to use it in such a tricky mountain terrain, it will be very troublesome. But Sam acted quickly. He created a virtual projection of the mountain area within the second floor of the tower. After giving the necessary tasks out, he disappeared into the divine dimension.

"It has been a while."

He muttered to himself as he started simulations immediately.

It has indeed been a while since he took advantage of time difference in the second floor. Recently since he had to spend a lot of time on these stupid missions, he just used that time to do the research at a normal pace.

But now he had to use it again.

Luckily, he doesn't need to figure out any basic concepts behind what he is doing. He just needs to simulate and create a proper layout and he would be good. Sam's beasts had to get involved in the fight directly.

Sam's word of not getting involved in it has been broken too.

Sam sighed as this thought popped up in his head every five minutes. But he knew better than just letting it get the best of him. He might value his word, but he also remembered the word he gave out. He said he would save them, then he would.

On top of it all, he doesn't want to give any Olympian god the satisfaction of defeating him.

He can always take revenge for the stuff these people did anyway.

The cultivators also finally got some breathing space to heal and recover.

Yanwu, Sky, Forest, Raiju and Ape. The ones that went to set some mountains on fire came back soon and joined the rest of the beasts.

Forest even went ahead and set up a recovery station. It is basically a wooden chamber that increases the wood elemental healing effect by a large margin.

The battle became intense.

The mountain started shortening like a real candle and the bird increased. The beasts fought them off and destroyed them at an incredible pace. But the speed of their destruction is a lot slower compared to the speed of the spawn.

Time passed like that and the fourth night went by.

By fifth morning, Sam finally came out with the formation design.

It took a lot longer than he expected. But the extra time was necessary. Because once he placed this formation, he believed when the finale within this disaster happens, he wouldn't have to put in as much effort.
