Chapter 2538: New type of Formation

"We can’t?"

Everyone was stunned. This is probably the first time Sam gave such a decisive negative about making something.

Sam crafted some customized formation pillars for this. The pillars were around 10 meters tall each and they have several inheritances inserted into it. Sam is not sure that a formation needed to block such high level creatures could sustain by itself with the energy available in the atmosphere.

Anyway, he wasn’t worried about the lack of inheritances.

But there is also another reason that he is not worried the formation won’t run out of energy, because apart from the atmosphere there is another source that he planned to bring the energy from.

After installing the pillars according to Sam’s guidance, the managers and the team gathered once again.

Sam took out specially made necklaces.

They had a perfectly circular lockets, with what looked like a purple sapphire embedded on them.

"Always have these on you. Do not remove them no matter what. You can lose your arm or leg, but you can’t lose these."

Obviously they understood the seriousness of the situation.

They all took the necklaces and wore them. Once that was done, it was Sam’s time to perform. With a wave of his hand, several corpses appeared all over the place within the marked zone.

All were most recently killed and sealed up so that they could still be used for necromancy.

With a wave of his hand, dozens of shadow mice appeared from the Divine dimension, led by the mouse that he had contract with.

By now, the population mice exceeded a couple of hundred and there are several in the starting stages of Divine plane Initiation. Sam didn’t find a proper use for them until now, but now he had a couple of ideas. And the current formation is one of them.

All the mice obeyed Sam’s unspoken commands.

Their bloodline was activated. Their bodies went through complete and perfect shadow elemental fusion. At the same time as if on cue, all the energy emitting from their bodies was targeted at the dead bodies.

The formation pillars activated and channeled death energy into the corpses.

Sam with his mental connection to the formation, controlled the death energy, and at the same time with the mental connection that had with all the mice, he controlled the shadow energy. Then at such a large scale, he commenced necromancy.

The shadow necromancy was done on hundreds of corpses at the same time, and every corpse is of higher level than him.

Of course, the usual amplification of the formation wouldn’t have been enough. That’s why Sam used something else.

His very own resonance and amplification techniques that he learned. The amplified energy successfully accessed the shadow world and started extracting the shadows of each corpse.

By default the shadow energy from the shadow world is extremely corruptive in nature and when the energy is directly coming from the shadow world, even if the managers and others were resistant to it because of their high cultivation, their bodies instinctually treated it as a threat.

Because even at their level, without the affinity or neutralizing measures, it is really hard to tolerate it with the body.

At the moment, just as the shadow manifestation was about to complete, that’s when the shadow world is most active. And at that exact moment... Sam opened his eyes.

The formation was activated and froze the process on the spot. The barrier between the shadow world and the real world became unstable. Extremely unstable.

The shadow energy surged in like a flood. The pressure mounted to the point the whole formation felt unstable. Even the managers with the superior senses, thought the formation would collapse.

Nothing could be seen from outside. Every inch of space within the formation was filled with dark, and dense shadow energy.

As if its sentient, it tried to invade their bodies. But the necklaces on their bodies activated. All the shadow energy, that surrounded their bodies was being collected into those gem stones.

The formation kept on whirring. The shadow energy was like an uncontrollable beast, refusing to be hindered by the barrier, threatening to get out. But the barrier wasn’t letting it.

The only stable things in the whole area were Sam and the shadow mice. They were like a natural part of that turbulent ecosystem.

When the shadow energy reached a certain limit, spatial energy emerged from the formation and locked it as it was.

Sam and the shadow mice relaxed. The shadow energy was still seeping in, but the formation was stable.

The formation pillars started absorbing the shadow energy from the shadow world and used that as the energy source.

On top of that, the space itself is now like a connecting spot between the shadow world and the real world.

Which in itself is dangerous.

The shadow mice went back to Sam’s divine dimension.

Sam took a deep breath and deactivated the fusion. He looked below him. The land is no longer visible. It was like a pool of purplish black liquid and the several land croc shadows were walking over it randomly.

However, neither those creatures not the energy, attacked him. Same went for the rest.

"It worked."

He smiled as he looked at the team.

They flew over to him and asked.

"Sam... this is the new method you wanted to try?" Lan asked.

She could feel it. The shadow energy, is foreign and dangerous. It is unlike any spiritual energy that she had encountered before.

"Yes."

"How is this going to stop the creatures from coming here?"

"You will know when they come. For now, let’s go back to base.
