Chapter 2613: Talk to Shimmy

In this whole scenario, Sam’s plan was pretty simple.

He got as much information from Parth and Bhim as possible. Then identified the most selfish and self serving people. Then he followed their activity until he found out how they are all trying to save their own kids in this war.

They disguised their kids as villagers, suppressed their cultivation and hid them in the village along with ordinary civilians.

If these cultivators actually went so far as to deceive their own factions for their lineage, Sam just guessed they could actually do more.

So, he kidnapped their kids and made them do the dirty work of killing each other.

As for why they became so furious all of a sudden... its simple..

They did the maximum damage they could through blackmail. There is not much left for Sam to do after that.

So, he killed all their kids.

And broadcasted the news to all these people. Now that’s how he is going to draw the last bit of their usefulness.

Sam observed as they moved rapidly towards Hastin village.

They would be there at any given moment. But to his surprise, someone else came to the village, before they did.

A man stood over the Bone dome, looking at the structure with eyes filled with curiosity, intrigue and a little bit of frustration.

Its a first for even Sam to see such a mix of contradictory expressions.

But the face itself is not completely unfamiliar to him...This guy is the one Sam has been exchanging moves until now.

"It would be rude of me to not welcome you properly."

Sam disappeared from the spot and appeared over the bone dome. Shimmy locked his eyes on him.

"Hello, Mr. Shimmy." Sam greeted with a smirk.

"You must be that outsider kid...Sam."

"Yes, Indeed. Its a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect to see you here."

Shimmy was about to reply when a bunch of consummate stage cultivators appeared...

Sam continued while looking at them.

"Them on the other hand...I expected them completely."

Shimmy’s aura erupted and he looked at the incoming cultivators.

"What the fuck do you guys think you are doing?"

"Get out of my way, he killed my son."

"His head is mine."

"My son...my poor son..."

"My daug..."

Everyone was only short of weeping.

"I need you guys to understand the current situation and get back immediately. You are not attacking the village on my watch. If you so much as move your hand, then you are giving free reign to them to attack.

We are not going to break our honor and rules."

"Fuck the rules, I want to kill him..."

One of them directly attacked Sam.

Shimmy blocked the attack and looked at him coldly.

"I am not gonna ask you twice...your factions’ respective strongest fighters are busy fighting the strongest of Hastin. They are barely holding them down right now.

The whole war is counting on the fact Hastin village would absolutely follow the rules. We are already pushing our luck. Now, if you do this...its gonna be slaughter.

You can’t carry the sin of that blood.

So, listen to my words and get back right now."

Shimmy explained very patiently. The fact that their kids died...he didn’t want to dismiss their grief of losing their kids...

So, he was being considerate.

But the problem is, their opponent is not as considerate...

"So, all of you are here just to kill me? As I committed some grave crime? Such audacity...Seems like your faces grew thicker with your age..."

Sam said out loud and that pissed everyone off...

They were about to make a move...Shimmy also became impatient and clapped his hands...

All the attackers suddenly froze on the spot and then squirmed in pain.

"This is the last time I am telling you guys. Get the fuck out of here..."

They all exchanged a glance and left. They were unwilling of course, but they can’t do anything against Shimmy. And right now Shimmy is their miltary superior. So, usual rules won’t apply. He could kill them right there and nobody would say shit about it.

They went back...

Shimmy heaved a sigh of relief and looked at Sam.

"You enjoy this, don’t you?" He asked.

Sam smiled. That’s all he did.

"Come on, let’s sit down for a bit. I want to talk to you." Shimmy asked. He landed right in front of the bone dome, and sat on a stone.

Sam picked another stone and sat in front of him.

"Talking to your enemy commander, out in the open...aren’t you afraid that your side will think you betrayed them?"

"Sure, if they really doubt me, I will just step aside. They can fight this war by themselves. But I doubt they can even hold this for a day, when you are on the other side."

"The indispensable competence...it is indeed a great defense for anything."

"Indeed.."

"So, what did you want to talk to me about..."

"War...Let’s talk about war for a bit. Why are you even involved in this?"

"Does it matter?"

Shimmy thought for a moment and said...

"Not really. But if you can tell me what you want, I would offer that you and see if you can get out of here. You threw my whole plan into chaos."

Sam almost laughed out loud.

"I heard about you Shimmy. But I didn’t believe when Parth said, you are this straightforward. You really opened my eyes.

By offering me to leave, aren’t you admitting that you are worse than me?"

"And? What of it? I never shy away from admitting my loss.

In the last few rounds we went against each other. It was always my loss."

"Its refreshing...but I am not leaving Hastin village. There are things more valuable than benefits."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I am only worth as much as my word. And I gave my word to parth and his brothers... and I can’t possibly betray them after the kindness Hastin village showed me."

"A few days of Hospitality and you are this loyal. I must say, you really do belong at the Hastin village. It’s just you are too cunning to be in fold with them."

"Someone has to be.."

"What is war to you Sam? How do you look at it? What do yo think of it?"
