Chapter 3035: Chapter 3036: Night Raid
The high-powered searchlight shone on the open space in front of the warehouse door.
Four forklifts and cranes were busy loading the finished products from the warehouse onto the trucks.
Beside them, over a dozen trucks were waiting to be loaded.
Not far away on the steps, three people were sitting.
You could see tattoos on their necks, and next to them were beers as they ate, keeping an eye on the trucks ahead.
"With all this cargo, it’ll probably be dawn before we’re done loading."
It was a short-haired black man speaking, yawning as he talked.
"Finishing by dawn would be ideal, at least it’s easy work, feels like a vacation here."
The speaker had braids and an Asian face.
His name was Ma Ben, and he went abroad in his teens, then joined the Halke Rangers by chance.
He mainly handled tasks in the Asia-Pacific region.
"It’s a pity we didn’t see it when Gler made his move, it must have been quite a scene," said a westerner.
"He was locked up in the base for years and only came out half a year ago, bound to stir things up," said Ma Ben.
"But targeting the Merit Team Leader of the Central Guards Brigade right after getting out, isn’t that a bit rash?"
"Given his temperament, and skill level, targeting him is only natural, since these people will become the island’s main contenders in the future."
"But I heard that man did quite a few earth-shattering things, if the two met, it should be quite a show to watch," the westerner said with a grin.
"Which of the two do you think is more formidable?"
"I think it’s Gler," the black man replied,
"Over the years, countless experiments were conducted on him; the cost of those serums has amounted to billions of USD. We can’t even imagine his true abilities."
The westerner looked at Ma Ben, "What do you think?"
"I also think Gler is a bit more formidable," Ma Ben said,
"I saw him once kick a wild elephant to death. Though not an island creature, it was terrifying."
"This guy is indeed a freak; I’m already anticipating their showdown."
"Hm? Who are those guys?"
Hearing his companion speak, Ma Ben looked diagonally ahead and squinted his eyes, spotting a man and a woman walking towards the trucks.
Their attire did not match that of the factory workers, looking extremely peculiar.
The group exchanged glances, and Ma Ben signaled with his eyes.
"Go check it out."
Meanwhile, Lin Yi and Ning Che had approached the forklifts and stopped the working driver.
"Stop for a moment."
The driver glanced at Lin Yi, "What’s up?"
"Who told you to load the cargo here?"
The driver didn’t hide anything, glanced at Ma Ben in the distance, pointed to them, and said,
"It was them, they gave each of us 1000 bucks to load the cargo overnight."
Following the direction indicated, Lin Yi saw Ma Ben and his group walking towards them.
Their attire and aura were completely different from the factory workers.
This made Lin Yi more certain that these people were the small fish he needed to catch.
As Ma Ben approached Lin Yi, he eyed him from top to bottom.
"Who are you guys? What are you doing here?"
Simultaneously, Lin Yi was appraising them, directly saying,
"You guys should be from the Halke Rangers, right?"
"Hm?"
At these words, the three people’s expressions changed, their eyes becoming wary.
"Are you from the Central Guards Brigade?!"
"You’re not entirely clueless," Lin Yi said,
"Is that guy Gler still here?"
Lin Yi did not obscure his intentions.
In his view, someone as brazen as Gler would never hide.
If he was still here, he would definitely show up.
"He’s already gone, not here anymore."
While speaking, they all backed away, putting distance between themselves and Lin Yi.
Simultaneously, the black man pulled out a signal flare and shot it into the sky.
Soon after, footsteps were heard approaching from all directions, with five or six more people gathering around them.
They surrounded Lin Yi and Ning Che.
"You’re quick, finding us here so fast," Ma Ben said,
"I’m sorry, but I can’t let you leave today."
"Not letting us leave?" Lin Yi chuckled, saying,
"Do you not know who I am? Are the Halke Rangers’ intelligence capabilities this weak?"
Hearing Lin Yi’s words and sensing the faint aura of murder around him,
Ma Ben’s legs began to tremble, a vague sense of foreboding creeping over him.
"You... are you the Merit Team Leader of the Central Guards Brigade?!"
"It’s too late for you to realize now."
"It’s really you!"
Upon confirmation, Ma Ben and his group’s faces turned ashen.
They knew Lin Yi’s capabilities, someone worthy of going toe-to-toe with Gler.
Also very aware that despite their numbers, they couldn’t match him.
Instinctively, they retreated, pulling out weapons aimed at Lin Yi and Ning Che.
Lin Yi casually drew his dagger, walking step by step towards Ma Ben, calmly saying,
"No need to be nervous, I won’t kill; just looking to collect a bit of interest from you."
Bang! Bang!
Just as Lin Yi finished speaking, Ning Che raised the gun, shattering a few overhead searchlights.
Instantly, the entrance of the warehouse plunged into darkness, providing Lin Yi an opportunity.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A succession of gunshots rang out, followed by cries of pain.
In just a few minutes, Ma Ben and his subordinates were all brought down, blood pooling around them, unable to stand again.
The dozen or so drivers nearby stood frozen in fear at the scene.
Ning Che called out, telling them to turn their headlights towards Ma Ben and his group again, revealing their faces once more.
The limbs of these people were twisted in strange angles, undoubtedly incapacitated by Lin Yi.
Fear filled Ma Ben and his group’s eyes.
Although unlike Gler, who was unpredictable, Lin Yi’s aura was terrifying.
"It must be Gler who sent you here. Give me his contact information."
"It’s... it’s on my phone..."
With Ma Ben’s hands incapacitated, Lin Yi retrieved his phone and found Gler’s number.
The phone rang for a few moments, then a deep voice answered.
"Did you finish your task over there?"
"I’m Lin Yi, the Team Leader from the Central Guards Brigade. Their limbs have been broken by me. Next time, be mature and come directly to me."
