Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3649: Sister

Chapter 3649: Sister

Ronron went around the small realm, guided around by Whisker. She first saw the alchemy gardens where various plants were on the verge of maturing. Given that the garden itself had been put into place not that long ago, it was quite fast for Immortal and higher rank plants to mature.

She saw the Heavenly Silkworms and the cocoons many of them were inside. Whisker gifted her a small section, which Ronron placed away.

She then saw the Dragon-blooded Pillbugs, and how there were so many of those tiny critters running around. Alex was now on batch 6, and had ended up with over 800 of them by now, with another 200 on the way in just a year or two.

A large lake close to the center held nothing but a small plant, barely budding at all. Whisker called it a Sacred Jade Lotus, a flower that would hopefully one day blossom and allow everyone there to improve their Spiritual energy.

She got to meet Ray and was surprised to find a spirit beast of pure fire that lived inside her father’s Soul Space. Alex did not tell her Ray’s identity for the simple fear of that somehow leading to the Sky God finding out about him.

The Primordials were not something that Alex could just tell anyone about. That was why most of his family did not know what Ray actually was, besides just a fire spirit that took the form of a bird.

Finally, Ronron arrived at the center of the realm where she was shaded in that moment by the shadow of the colossal Playground.

"That’s the artifact you received in the Southern Continent, was it not?" she asked, looking over at it directly.

"It is," Alex answered.

"It’s not fulfilling its actual purpose, is it?"

Alex took a moment before answering, but the moment of hesitation itself was enough for Ronron.

"I have no other place to make use of him," he said in the end. "If I do end up finding something else in the future where I can make use of him, I will."

Ronron said nothing. She turned toward the World Tree, now closer than ever, and felt the pure Qi that flowed out of the plant. She stepped in closer, her eyes widening in shock as she realized she could absorb this energy, just as everyone had said she could.

It was impossible for her single Supreme Wood Spirit root to absorb anything other than Wood Qi, so the Qi that came out of the World Tree was indeed incredibly special.

As she got closer, she saw the tree move slightly, as though a person were attempting to turn itself to face her. Then, something touched her mind the very next moment, and a young feminine voice spoke directly into her mind.

"Greetings, little sister."

Ronron grabbed her head, surprised at the voice. Her eyes looked around, trying to find the source of the voice, but she saw no man or beast.

The voice spoke again. "Father told me you would be coming."

Ronron’s eyes slowly moved away from everything else and back toward the tree. Her mind refused to believe it, but in her heart of hearts, she could tell what it was that was speaking to her.

It was the World Tree.

"Are you speaking to me?" Ronron asked, her words directed at the tree.

"Of course," the voice said. "Who else could it be, little sister?"

Ronron gulped a little, turning toward Whisker. "The World Tree is talking to me. Is that normal?"

Whisker raised an eyebrow in surprise. "She is talking to you? Already?"

It had taken him quite some time to get the tree to talk to him openly, and that too only because he was the one who brought her delicious meals. If not for that, the tree would never engage in a conversation all on her own.

So, the fact that the World Tree had started the conversation all on her own was a surprise for Whisker.

Ronron slowly nodded, answering Whisker’s question. "Are you telling me this is normal?"

"Well, it’s a little strange of her to be the first to start the conversation, but her talking itself isn’t that strange," Whisker said. "She has been doing that ever since sister Shumi was here."

Ronron gave a confused look. "Who?"

"She’s a friend we met in the Sun’s Talon realm. We can talk about her later," Whisker said. "You should continue your conversation. It’s better to not make her unhappy."

Ronron quickly turned toward the tree and bowed. "Greetings, senior World Tree. It is an honor to meet you."

There was silence for a few seconds, making Ronron worry that she might have offended the tree by taking her time. Thankfully, the tree responded a few seconds later.

"You do not have to be so respectful to me, little sister. We are family. You can just call me big sister," the tree said.

"Big... sister?" Ronron asked, confused beyond anything she had experienced till now. A tree was asking her to call her a big sister?

"Yes," the tree replied with a slight giggle to her voice. "I thought I only had 2 other sisters, but it seems I have a third one as well. I am happy to meet you, little sister."

"I... uh... yes. I am happy too," Ronron quickly replied. "But may I ask why you call me your sister?"

The tree remained silent for a moment again.

"Did father not tell you?" the tree asked.

"Father? Who is your father?" Ronron asked.

"Silly girl. You are my sister, so of course we have the same father, don’t we? My father is your father," the World Tree said.

Ronron blinked for a few long seconds. "I don’t understand."

"Well... I was hoping this would be a surprise," Alex’s voice came a moment later. "But it appears I’ve made things more confusing instead."

"Father?"

"Ronron, meet the World Tree. She is a creation of the Sun God, and since I am the Sun God, she is my daughter," Alex said. "As such, she is now your sister."
