Chapter 3703: Frustrating

Chapter 3703: Frustrating

Two violets in a row felt far too much of a coincidence for everyone to believe it was real. Many in the crowd began wondering out loud if the group was cheating somehow.

Once Battlesage walked out, a few even approached him to ask what he had said in there, but Battlesage simply refused to listen to their demands.

"It is my secret. I have no reason to tell any of you, and neither will I," the old man said before walking past them.

Some tried to make up arguments, but he was already far too gone to even hear any of it.

The woman inside the barrier remained in her stunned state for a long time before she too was forced to leave. As her shock wasn’t dropping in the slightest, someone else had to be brought in as a clean slate for the test to continue.

She gave the same speech as the other man and left, leaving the crowd stunned.

"Congratulations!" Helen said as the old man arrived back at the group.

"Thank you. I was worried they wouldn’t believe me, but that rod helped quite a bit," the old man said.

"It does indeed. Without it, people might not believe you at all," Helen said.

"Whose turn is it next?" Battlesage asked, turning toward Liz.

Liz pointed to Ronron.

"I’m next," Ronron said, somewhat excited for her turn.

She waited for some time, and someone flew in from the side, arriving to take over the empty seat.

The newly arrived figure was a handsome Divinity with a bright smile on his face. "I shall be taking over this test for the moment. I shall see you all very soon," the young man said, walking into the room.

Once he entered, Helen turned toward Ronron, as she needed to go now. However, upon seeing the expression on Ronron’s face, she paused.

"What’s wrong?" she asked her.

Hearing Helen’s words, everyone turned toward Ronron to see what had happened. Ronron held a particularly strange expression, halfway between annoyance and irritation.

"What’s wrong?" Alex asked. "Is something the matter?"

"Yes," she said. "But nothing can be done about it. I’ll be going ahead now."

Ronron walked up to the barrier, which opened up, allowing her to enter. She made her way to the chair and sat down, with the Divinity before her resting without much emotion on his face. The gem-crusted headband on his forehead showed no signs of doing much at all.

She was about to speak when the man handed her the rod.

"Please take this rod," the man said. "You may only tell me truths, and only your truths. If you lie, you will be disqualified. You have until the sand in this hourglass is empty."

The man flipped the hourglass.

Ronron took a deep breath and bowed. "Greetings, Senior Brother Tailwind. I had hoped we would meet properly. But we ended up meeting like this."

The Divinity narrowed his eyes, looking at Ronron with a strange expression. But then, as if noticing something, his eyes widened in a hint of surprise. The color on the crystal jumped to green.

"Are you little sister Ronron?" the man asked. "Master did say you would be participating in this secret realm. I had hoped to meet you earlier, but I returned too late."

Ronron nodded. "When did you return, Senior Brother? I had heard you had been gone for a long time now," she said.

"I ended up hearing some news recently and decided to return," the man said. "How have you been? Is the Red Heaven Realm this time any fun?"

"Quite," Ronron answered.

"I see. Well, I don’t want to waste too much of your time now. If you have something that can surprise me, do tell."

Ronron’s expression returned to how it had been outside. This was the reason she had been so annoyed earlier, and still was.

So much of what she could have told others to surprise them had completely lost its effectiveness. Everything she could say was likely already known by this man.

Her physique, her Daos, her Soul Space, her master. There wasn’t a truth about her that she could tell this man that would surprise him.

"Could I perhaps request a change?" Ronron asked. "I think I’m at a disadvantage here since you know quite a lot about me, Senior Brother."

"That’s not true," the man said. "I have never met you before, so all I’ve heard are bits and pieces. I don’t know the real you, now do I?"

The man wasn’t backing off. He had no intention of helping her here.

Ronron nodded slowly, thinking of what she could say. It couldn’t be something about the World Tree. Perhaps it could be her split Origins? She decided not to since it wasn’t information that was meant to be distributed as of yet.

"Do my relations count as my truth?" Ronron asked. "I heard someone talking about their grandfather, and it got them a result. If I talk about my family, will I be disqualified?"

Tailwind held an interesting expression.

"Family relations themselves are fine. You can tell me what your parents or grandparents are known for, but if you end up using them entirely, it doesn’t count," Tailwind said. "That being said, I’ve heard about your father quite a bit already. He is, after all, quite well known even among the Divinities for having garnered the ire of the Storm God himself."

Ronron nodded. "My father is a Half-God!"

Tailwind raised his eyebrow slightly and smiled. "I was told that. So it’s really true?"

The color changed, but it only went from green to blue. That wasn’t enough.

Ronron frowned. "You knew?"

Tailwind shrugged. "I’m sorry, but I can’t help that I was told," he said. "Do you have anything else to tell me? How about your Creations? I heard you were going to have multiple Creations like the Saber God does."

Ronron hardly understood what to do anymore. Even that wasn’t available to her.

The sand spilled away, slowly reaching the end. If she didn’t say or do something soon, she would have failed.
