Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3730: Soft Cloud

Chapter 3730: Soft Cloud

A voice came booming throughout the trial site, the same one that had spoken to Alex when giving him his reward.

"Use your understanding of the Dao inside the room when you are prompted to."

Alex waited for whenever that was going to be, which turned out to be no more than 5 minutes later.

"Show your understanding of the Dao," the voice said in his mind.

Alex immediately produced an aura of the Dao of Softness as close to the real thing as he could. While he hadn’t learned the Dao yet, he had made enough progress in it that he was hopeful he could continue to stay.

"You may stay," the voice said a second later, moving on to the others.

Alex watched as the man in the room failed to produce an aura that could match any of the Daos there and quickly stood to leave. The woman passed and stayed behind.

Alex had the opportunity to leave as well. The voice had said he could stay, but leaving was of course allowed. There was a chance Ronron or Liz hadn’t managed to learn much at all and were sent back out. In that instance, it would be better for him to leave.

However, he trusted them to succeed instead, especially given the pills he had handed them. That could help them pass at least a single month. As such, if Alex was ever going to leave, it was going to be the next month.

Considering all that, there was no need for him to waste his time thinking about anything else, so Alex focused back on the floating piece of cloud before him and continued his attempt to learn the aura.

At some point, two more people entered the room, but Alex could hardly pay any attention to them. He was focused on his own self. He learned as much as he could about the Dao all on his own, before deciding to make the pill again to help him.

The pill-making session was a surprise to the newcomers, just as much as it was to the woman who had been there from the start. Each one stared at Alex with widened eyes, surprised to find a Prime Alchemist among them.

Alex ate the pill, and soon, his focus was undivided upon the floating cloud as he learned its aura and understood its Dao.

After another week and a half, the effects of the pill vanished. Then, Alex continued for another week, for a total of 3 weeks since this session had started. He had come so close now that even Heaven seemed to agree that he deserved to learn the Dao.

As such, with one more week remaining, the sky above the trial site was filled with aura once more as Worldly Laws began descending from the sky again.

The three inside the room could immediately feel the exact Dao Alex was trying to learn. The woman who had been there from the start could tell that he was, in fact, trying to learn two.

Alex hadn’t had the intention of learning the Dao of Cloud, but as he focused on the Dao of Softness, the Dao of Cloud began to make some sense to him. That became apparent to him when he realized that the Dao of Cloud was a bridge connecting the Dao of Softness and the Dao of Water together.

As such, he was now learning both the Dao of Softness and the Dao of Cloud at once. The Worldly Laws remained descended for some time, allowing him to not just learn those Daos, but also gain some understanding of a few more Daos that Alex had gotten closer to learning while being there.

While he was still very much far away from making any significant progress in them, he had started to understand the Dao of Mist, Dao of Liquid, and Dao of Rain as well.

The Worldly Laws retreated some time later, leaving Alex with two newly learned Daos, namely the Dao of Softness and the Dao of Cloud.

Once he was done learning the two, the voice returned again.

"Congratulations, you have learned two new Daos. You have been assigned a new room should you wish to continue."

The rewards Alex received this time were more than what he had earned last time, all because he now had more Daos.

Instead of 950, he now earned 990 stars.

And he wasn’t done yet.

Alex stood from his spot and walked out of the room, leaving behind the stunned expressions of the cultivators that were still there. Once Alex left the room, he wondered if it would be better to leave, or if he should spend the last remaining week in another room.

The chances that he could learn a Dao in a week were low even for him, so he could only choose to go to the next place and spend the final week actually doing something.

"Where next?" Alex wondered as he walked through the large corridor that led through dozens and dozens of doors, many more than the number of Daos that were available.

At this point, Alex understood more or less that the Daos were being repeated, most likely because it was hard for an aura to appear without supporting auras if it was naturally formed. Even a man-made aura would generate accompanying auras for the sake of stability.

Understanding as much, he went over to the next room that he was shown to.

Walking in, Alex saw a rather empty room with no one else sitting in there at all.

What was there instead was a simple veil of mist that covered the room entirely. Alex slowly walked in, the white mist dancing around him as he moved. There was no object inside but just the mist, so Alex understood what task it was that he had received.

He sat down on the wet grass and closed his eyes, throwing his focus and attention onto the aura in the mist surrounding him as Alex began to try and learn the 5th Water Dao inside the trial site.
