Chapter 3733: Outside

Once Alex walked out, he found Ronron standing close to where Liz was, both waiting for the others to come out.

Alex quickly went up to the two. "You guys are already here? How long were you out?" he asked.

"I just came out, Father," Ronron quickly said. "Although, Grand Aunt had to stay out for a month apparently."

Alex looked toward Liz. "Did you register to go in again, or..."

"No, I just went around taking part in some trials," Liz said with a shrug. "Earned around a few dozen stars."

Alex turned toward Ronron. "Did you win any stars?"

Ronron’s face fell slightly. "Only 150," she said.

Alex raised an eyebrow. "Oh! That’s not bad."

"It’s bad," Ronron said. "I could’ve earned so much more if I knew I could register all Daos instead of just the ones I learned myself."

Alex tilted his head in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"I learned my Greater Daos altogether instead of one by one for the most part, so I didn’t think to use the individual Daos that I gained within those Greater Daos. I only used the ones I learned one at a time," Ronron said. "If not for that, I would’ve had close to 30 Daos to register."

Alex couldn’t help but be surprised. "That’s quite a lot more than even Grandma learned, huh?"

"Grandma has variety," Ronron said. "I only learned what I did because of my physique. Wood aura feels natural to me in a way that others likely can’t understand so easily."

Alex supposed she was right.

"Pearl needs to learn some Wood Daos too now that he has a Supreme Wood root, but I don’t know if he can. He’s spent such a long time without understanding anything Wood-related, so learning Daos would be hard for him."

Ronron made a thinking face. "I’ll see if I can help him learn something. It would be worth a try."

"Where’s your mother?" Liz asked, looking around. "Is she not coming out? It’s about time for everyone else to go in."

Alex looked around. "I suppose she’s going to stay there for another month then."

"Looks like it," Liz said. "We don’t have much time though. We have a little over 2 months before the year ends, at which point this will end."

Alex nodded slowly. He had considered going back in after a month, but perhaps it was better just to stop. It was possible that his mother would come out a month later, so if they reentered, they would only be stranding her outside all alone.

"Are either of you close to learning any Dao?" Alex asked, just to be sure.

"No," Ronron answered. "I learned the Dao of Paralysis, and that was enough for me."

"Really?" Alex asked in surprise. "I didn’t sense anything at all when inside. They must’ve hidden the aura from others. No wonder I kept wondering why no one else was learning a new Dao despite all being there for that particular purpose."

Alex waited for some more time for Helen to come out, but it didn’t look like she was going to.

"Should we just go away?"

Before anyone could decide upon that answer, Alex heard someone call for him.

"Brother Dawnblade!"

Alex turned and found Fang Xianhai standing far away, waving at him. He moved toward Alex and, in a few seconds, arrived next to him.

"Brother Xianhai," Alex called out once the man got close enough. "You’re here too."

"I am. When did you leave?"

"Just a few minutes ago," Alex answered. "What about you?"

"Oh, the very same," Fang Xianhai said with a proud look on his face. "I suppose we performed similarly if we came out at the same time. Not much of a competition there if both of us came out at the same time, huh?"

Alex thought for a bit and nodded. "I suppose that makes sense. We competed to see who could stay there the longest."

"That’s right," Fang Xianhai said. "It’s a shame we didn’t put in more effort when making this competition. I even learned a new Dao and all, but that wouldn’t let me win now. I now have as many Daos as..."

The man looked around. "Where’s the other lady who was with you guys?"

"Still in there," Liz said, gesturing ahead.

Fang Xianhai frowned. "She hasn’t come out yet?"

Alex shook his head. "We are waiting for her to come out, but it doesn’t look like she will."

"Huh? Did she come out and go back in?" Fang Xianhai said. "She might’ve come out after the first month."

"Impossible," Liz answered. "I came out after the 2nd month. No one was here, so I had to leave. If she was, I would’ve found her before she entered."

"I’m guessing she learned a new Dao," Ronron said. "When I learned my Dao, the trial asked me to move on to a new room. It sent me to a place with the Dao of Poison, and I just couldn’t learn much in the week or so I had."

Fang Xianhai narrowed his eyes in surprise. "You learned a new Dao too?"

Ronron nodded. "You said you did too, right?"

The man nodded.

Ronron turned toward Alex. "Father, did you learn a new Dao?"

Fang Xianhai was somewhat taken aback to hear Alex be referred to as such, but that feeling quickly faded away as he saw Alex nod.

"You learned a new Dao too, Brother Dawnblade?" Xianhai asked.

"I did," Alex said.

"Ooh, which one?" Ronron asked with some excitement in her voice.

"Well... there were a few."

Fang Xianhai blinked for a moment. "A few?"

Alex nodded.

"You mean... more than one?" he asked again.

Alex nodded again.

"Let’s see. I learned the Dao of Freezing and the Dao of Cold first, followed by the Dao of Softness and the Dao of Cloud. Then I learned the Dao of Mist, then the Dao of Snow, the Dao of Liquid, and the Dao of Rain. I failed to learn the Dao of Refraction since I only had a week with it."

Hearing all that, Fang Xianhai’s mind went blank.
