Chapter 3750: Against the Community

As they had been promised, no one came to trouble Alex or the rest for the next 3 days. Those who did come weren’t from the community, as far as Alex understood. 3 days later, Alex took the group to the community, where they started challenging anyone they came across.

With these women of weaker cultivation bases challenging them, the people there were more than excited to get in on it to earn a star. However, earning a star wasn’t as easy as they thought it would be.

Each one of them was strong in their own way, with Helen turning out to be the best of all. Not only could Helen fight however she wanted, she also had strong body cultivation, allowing her to win a lot.

Ronron did her best, and so did Liz. Liz was slowly getting better and better at using her sword and forming her Sword Intent. She would be able to form one very soon, from what Alex could tell.

He also trained his Intent from time to time, but people didn’t generally challenge him at all. Even when they were told the type of battle that would be happening, where their chances of winning were so much higher, they still didn’t want to take any chances.

Battlesage enjoyed the time the most, challenging anyone he could find. He went through all sorts of challenges, losing most of them due to his lack of understanding of those topics, but he still loved every second of it.

Alex didn’t get to look into the canyon, but after a few days, he got the understanding that there were close to a hundred people in there, with more increasing every day as people came to join.

"I can ask our leader if you want to join," Wangju told Alex one day when they were just hanging out.

"I have no interest in joining any community," Alex said. "As you can see, I’m more interested in training those three."

Wangju looked at them. "You could do that inside the community too," he said. "And they won’t even have to lose many stars to do it. We could just train without challenging."

Alex took the man’s words seriously, even considering the suggestion rather seriously. However, in the end, he just couldn’t accept it at all.

"I’m sorry, but I can’t. I can’t have them fighting the same people over and over. They need variety in their challenges. Some weak. Some strong. They need to understand the type of fighters there are out there and need to understand how to deal with them," Alex said. "And those people won’t be serious unless they have something to lose."

Wangju could only shake his head regretfully.

"I had to try. They won’t stop talking about how great you apparently were in a test," he said.

Alex smiled. "I was better in another test. I’m surprised that hasn’t come up yet."

Wangju was curious but didn’t push further.

Alex had the women train for a few months without a moment to cultivate. The only thing they got to do was rest for the night and gather all the Qi they had lost. Then, once the sun came back up, they were back to fighting.

They were so very tired by the monotonous daily life that Alex could see their motivation dropping slightly. They weren’t as excited to train anymore.

After noticing them lose more stars than normal for a few too many days, Alex finally went up to them.

"We will be leaving here after tomorrow."

Alex’s words caused the group’s eyes to widen a little.

"Really?" Ronron asked. The excitement in her voice couldn’t be hidden.

"Yes," Alex said. "Tomorrow is the last day of training. Although, I won’t really call it training. Tomorrow, I want you all to challenge them seriously."

Liz’s eyes narrowed. "By that you mean..."

"By that, I mean you can fight with no restrictions," Alex said. "There is only one condition for you all."

The women waited for Alex to say it.

"Guo Langmi has a Sentinel with him. A Divinity. You will need to challenge him and fight as best as you can," Alex said. "You will definitely lose, but you can gauge just how far you are from fighting a Divinity this way."

Battlesage’s eyes gleamed with excitement. "Can I do that too?"

Alex shrugged. "You could always do so, Senior," he said. "In fact, I will likely be doing so too."

The group was both excited and nervous for the next day. The next day came just a few hours later, and as usual, people began gathering out front as they prepared for the daily challenges where most people had by now come to assume that they would easily win and get a star.

Only, things were different today, and Alex made sure everyone knew.

There wasn’t much change with his mother, so she could be challenged as any other day. But with Ronron and Liz, things were going to be much harder as they were talented fighters now allowed to use their entire toolkit.

Many people did not believe that a few more techniques or Daos could change the course of the battle at all. After all, for the most part, what determined who won in a battle between two cultivators was the difference in their cultivation bases.

But this time, they were proven wrong.

The people challenging Liz and Ronron only just realized that it did not matter how strong they were when they couldn’t land a single hit.

Liz used her Time Dao infrequently, and even then, the people struggled to fight her. Ronron showcased her Space Daos without any hesitation, teleporting all around while being far too quick to be caught.

The two women ran circles around their fighters each time they were challenged. Slowly but surely, everyone began to understand that all these days of training they had done had indeed been with them being thoroughly handicapped.

Upon realizing that, the number of people challenging them dropped significantly, to the point where there was no one challenging Ronron at some point.

Taking advantage of that moment, she found the Divinity and challenged him.
