Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3752: Langmi’s Challenge

Chapter 3752: Langmi’s Challenge

The Divinity landed a distance away in the sand, having not been fast enough to defend himself against the attack coming from Battlesage. He hadn’t even considered the fact that Battlesage might be that strong. To him, the old man had been a mere Immortal, after all.

And yet, the pain on his cheek told him a different truth.

The man stood up slowly, his eyes narrowing at the old man.

"Who are you?" he asked.

Battlesage shook his hand a little. "The name is Battlesage. Pleased to meet you."

The Divinity stared blankly for a moment. "Your cultivation base is far too weak, and yet I see no lie in it. How are you doing this?"

"Doing what?" Battlesage asked. "I’m doing nothing."

The Divinity quickly realized that a Sentinel wouldn’t have been able to challenge someone else like this old man just had. That meant this old man was indeed just a regular person.

What did that mean then? Was he really just an Immortal cultivator?

"You’re an interesting man," the Divinity said. "Let me see how much more interesting you are."

Bright flames encircled him suddenly, and parts of them shot out toward the old man like flame arrows. Battlesage rushed to dodge the attacks, running around the place with a speed that was fast enough to avoid them, but not fast enough to be that of a Divinity.

A few more attacks later, the Divinity already understood that the power earlier hadn’t come from Battlesage’s cultivation base at all. It had to have come from some sort of artifact, or just his body cultivation alone.

Testing for those, the Divinity understood by the end that it was all just the man’s body cultivation.

"A Divine realm body cultivation?" the Divinity spoke in a voice that only Battlesage could hear. "That’s an incredible feat for someone who is so much weaker with their cultivation base."

Battlesage panted somewhat. Fighting a Divinity was actually quite a bit harder than he had thought. The man wasn’t giving him a single opening, and his cultivation base was higher than his body cultivation.

Not to mention, the man hadn’t even brought out his Creation once all this time. Battlesage understood that he had bitten off more than he could chew, but he kept going anyway.

Except for the first punch, the entire battle had been a one-sided fight in favor of the Divinity. However, to the outsiders, it looked close enough that many of the Immortals gathered to watch the fight were genuinely surprised by it all.

Alex watched for a while and nodded internally. Battlesage’s talent when it came to fighting wasn’t all that great at all. What had been honed by hundreds of thousands of years of fighting beasts and the occasional body cultivator could not go up against a Qi cultivator fighting at their full strength.

The old man needed to experience the world a lot more.

Battlesage’s defeat came a while later, and despite that, everyone cheered for either side in the battle.

"Father, it’s your turn now," Ronron said. "Go challenge him."

Alex nodded. Before he could say anything though, he heard a scoff from close by. Turning around, he found Guo Langmi standing nearby.

"Anything you have to say?" Ronron asked the young man.

"I have nothing to say to idiots who can’t even see how strong someone is," Guo Langmi said before turning his head away.

"Well, I could say the same to you," Ronron said with her arms crossed. "You can’t see how strong my father is, so all you can do is talk."

Langmi turned around, holding a sneer. "I can’t see how strong he is? Fine. Let’s see then. Come on, let’s fight each other."

Alex tried to refuse. "Just ignore my daughter. We don’t have to fight."

"What? Are you a coward?" Langmi asked. "I already challenged you. You can’t refuse."

Alex realized that was correct. He sighed. He thought of just handing over a star, but Ronron tugged on his sleeve.

"Don’t you think of getting out of this. You need to kick his ass so he doesn’t talk back to you like this," she said.

Alex let out a soft chuckle. "Fine," he said, turning toward Langmi. "I accept your challenge. If you have a preference, I’m open to hearing it. Otherwise, we’ll just fight normally. But if we do, I won’t be holding back today."

"That’s all I wanted anyway," Langmi said, moving to the side.

The Divinity returned to the group, only then finding that Langmi was trying to fight Alex. "What are you doing?" he asked. "That young man is stronger than you are."

"We have the same cultivation base," Langmi said. "And I’m no slouch either. Just stay here, Elder Huanzhu. I’ll show you just how good I’ve become."

Langmi gestured, and Alex followed him to the battlefield. They stood a moderate distance away, each ready for the fight. Langmi brought out a sword artifact for the fight. Meanwhile, Alex closed his fists as though he were going to be fighting physically.

"Start whenever you want," Alex said, giving the young man the chance to start first.

He did.

Langmi’s sword suddenly burned with golden light, shining so bright that it nearly made the sun look dim in comparison. He lifted the sword up high, gathering more power in it, and—

Suddenly, Langmi’s eyeballs rolled inside their sockets until only the whites showed, and his entire body went limp onto the sand, falling face-first. The powerful sword landed next to him as well, dimming as it lost all energy.

Alex got out of his stance and walked away.

The battle was over before it even began.

The crowd gasped in surprise and confusion, no one able to understand what it was that had just happened. For almost all of them, their spiritual senses were far too weak to reach the distance where Alex had been fighting, so they hadn’t noticed the single mental attack he had used to end the battle.

Alex walked up to the Divinity next, a soft smile on his face. "Would you mind fighting me next, Senior?"
