Chapter 3754: South End Marker

Alex and the rest roamed around the secret realm for the next decade, finding one group after another, targeting everyone. Day after day, their stars dwindled at a steady pace, but they had enough that they could continue for another decade or two at least, so they weren’t worried.

Alex began winning a few more battles as well, so he could stay there for a bit longer. He even began earning stars some days, although that was still quite rare.

As time passed, the weaker cultivators and the ones who hadn’t gathered many stars were thrown out of the secret realm. Those who remained were now much harder to defeat.

One of those days, they arrived at the South End Marker.

The Marker still stood, accepting everyone’s star as always, ready to hand over 500 stars should they continuously come here for 300 days. Since every time they came here, it gave them one star, that was 800 stars in total for 300 days.

As such, Alex and the rest weren’t surprised to find people around there. What they were surprised to find was that the place had been taken over by a community who made it impossible for anyone to get to the Marker.

Upon noticing the South End Marker, Alex and the group had made their way toward the center, only for a group of people to come toward them and immediately begin giving out challenges. As always, they accepted the challenges and used it as an opportunity to train.

Helen had more restrictions for fighting now, as she was not allowed to use her physical strength in her fights.

Ronron had fewer restrictions, as she was getting better at handling herself without her techniques and Daos, so Alex allowed her to use her techniques in accordance with her battles. She was still not allowed to use her Daos.

For Liz, everything was allowed, except her body cultivation and her Time Daos. She had learned Sword Intent a long time ago, and now she was beginning to push herself toward learning Sword Qi. Liz found that rather annoying because Helen, who had started fighting with a weapon much later than her, had learned Spear Intent just a few months after her, and was now closer to learning Spear Qi than she was.

Alex was getting better at his own training as well. His first challenge was from a man in the Immortal Transcendent 9th realm, with enough Battle Power to push him into the Immortal Spirit realm.

Alex accepted the challenge for a simple fight.

The man attacked first, sending out a sword swing toward Alex. It carried Sword Aura within it, which was a little strong for Alex, but it wasn’t so strong that he had to worry.

He reached for the slash with his mind.

After so many years of training every day, he had come to look at such attacks as more than just the whole. These were the sum of their parts, and each part was something he could fight.

This sword slash had 3 parts, not counting the Intent that the man used to throw it toward him.

One part of it was the Qi. The other part was the constant Intent. And occasionally, like this time around, the third part was the Dao used in the attack.

In this instance, the Qi was Metal Qi.

The Intent here was in the form of Sword Aura, which made it stronger than normal.

And then there was the addition of a Dao, which in this instance was the Dao of Sharpness.

Alex first erased the remnant of the Intent that came from the man using the attack. It took barely any effort at all. Second, he touched on the Dao. Since it was a Dao he understood, Alex was able to easily overpower it, using his own understanding of the Dao as a crutch to erase it as well.

Instantly, it went from a sharp cutting attack using metal energy to just a regular attack with nothing making it unique.

And then, Alex used his Intent on the Sword Aura itself.

That was the hardest part of it all, as he had to understand a person’s Sword Aura to try and erase it without much difficulty. If not, he would have to just brute force it.

So, he brute forced it.

He used his Intent to directly fight against the Sword Aura, erasing it at a pace that was quite slow for him, but for everyone else, it was instantaneous.

When the attack finally came for Alex, it was just a bunch of Qi without any guidance. Alex could simply will it to stop, and it did, dissipating into the air.

The man who attacked was far too surprised. He tried attacking a bunch more times, but each time, the result was the same.

One of the times, Alex went a step beyond. Instead of just letting the Qi dissipate, he willed it to fly back toward the man, and it did, rushing back toward its owner. Now, the man was forced to fight against his own Qi.

The battle lasted for slightly longer before coming to an end. The man understood naught of how he had lost at all.

As soon as the battle ended and Alex received his star, another man came and replaced the first, challenging Alex.

Alex was more than happy to accept it and continue his training.

That battle did not last much longer either, and Alex won once again. And then again. And again.

Every time Alex won, a new person kept replacing the old one, challenging him. The same was true with the women too, and the replacements came despite the fact that they had lost a few challenges.

It didn’t take Alex too long to realize that they were planning on keeping them there forever.

"Brother Dawnblade!" a voice called for him just then.

Alex turned and found Zi Mengyao, a disciple of the Violet Mist Sect, gesturing for him to go toward her.

"You all should retreat."
