Chapter 3760: Continue

As Alex used his Sword Domain, Firefang’s face fell into incredible shock.

Her talent that she had been so very proud of until now had been completely destroyed by Alex as he showed her that his talent with weapons was just as good as hers, if not better.

She didn’t know how much of what Alex had said was true. Sword Aura at the age of 21. Sword Domain at the age of 100. It all sounded unbelievable, and it most likely was. But she wanted to consider the talent someone would have to have for it all to be true.

Zi Mengyao had never been more shocked in her life at someone else’s ability. Not once could she have ever imagined that the man who was the greatest alchemist of the younger generation, the man who had revealed to a crowd of people that he had more than 40 Daos in total, had now shown that he was just as good with a sword as well.

For an Immortal, being able to form a domain of any weapon was an incredible feat. It wasn’t just talent that made it happen either. One needed to train and put in effort for it. They had to go through many life and death situations to understand their sword to improve their Sword Domain.

And now, Alex proved that he had done exactly that.

At this point, Zi Mengyao was beginning to wonder if she was mistaking Alex for someone else. Perhaps this wasn’t the man who won the Alchemy tournament after all. That was someone else, and he just happened to have the same name.

That was a little ridiculous to think, but she didn’t know what else made sense.

She turned toward Firefang, whose lips quivered a little as though she kept holding back things she was about to say every few seconds. She stared at the Sword Qi around Alex and knew from just a glance how powerful it was.

In fact, she knew that one could argue that because Alex’s Sword Domain produced more Qi than hers, his understanding of the weapon was better than hers. It would be a hard thing to argue against if he brought it up. So, she could only hope that he didn’t.

Alex finally stopped his Sword Domain and put his sword back into his Soul Space.

"My apologies," Firefang said. "I didn’t realize you would be this talented with a sword."

Alex smiled. "I don’t blame you for thinking that way."

Firefang nodded in thanks. "Did you really learn Sword Domain when you were only 100 years old?"

"Sort of," Alex said. It was earlier than that, but he saw no point in mentioning it. "By the time I became an Immortal, I had already honed it well."

Firefang blinked. "By the time you were an Immortal? Are you saying you learned it before you became one?"

Alex nodded. "Yes."

Firefang chose not to believe that. She had to believe that he was only saying what he was saying to scare her.

"I see," she said in the end. "I didn’t expect to get matched in such a challenge with someone as talented as you."

"You’re not bad yourself," Alex said. "Anyway, please continue."

The woman paused. "Continue? No, it’s over. We’ve tied. That’s why you put your sword away."

"Did I?" Alex asked, a mischievous smile forming on his face.

Firefang felt her heart sink into her stomach. "There’s no way..."

"Well, if you won’t continue, then allow me."

Alex lifted his right arm to his side, and far beyond his reach, Sword Qi started forming out of nowhere. It immediately formed a powerful domain away from him.

Firefang stepped back in surprise, while Zi Mengyao let out a gasp.

Many people let out sounds of surprise, while most didn’t even realize what they were looking at.

Su Nian turned, his eyes wide in surprise as well.

"Sword Heart?"

Firefang pointed at the domain. "Sword Heart? You have Sword Heart?"

The words immediately spread around the group like wildfire. While people didn’t recognize it, they most certainly knew what it was now that they had heard it.

Sounds of clear awe could be heard from all around Alex.

Alex lowered his arm, and the Sword Domain faded away. He turned toward Firefang next. "Are you continuing?"

The woman could only stare at him as though she were looking at a monster. She gulped and slowly shook her head.

"No," she said. "I cannot."

"Is that so?" Alex asked. "Sounds like I just won 6000 stars then."

Firefang’s legs nearly gave out when she realized what she had done.

6000 stars.

That was so many stars to lose at once. She had been here for the past 6 years, and in those 6 years, she had earned close to 5000 stars.

She was about to lose more than that in this single challenge.

Her hands shook as she brought out the stars, a bunch at a time, to hand them all over to Alex. Alex took them all and put them away into his Soul Space. As he received the 5612th star, Firefang’s expression changed slightly.

"I paid what I had to," she said, realizing that she actually didn’t need to pay all 6000.

"Huh? You bet 6000 stars," Zi Mengyao said.

"No, she’s right," Alex said, as he realized it too. "Since I didn’t have all 6000 stars to put up for the bet, she only has to pay the amount I did."

Firefang put away the rest of the stars. "It’s done."

She stepped back, moving away with a dejected look on her face.

Alex watched her leave.

"We should leave now," Zi Mengyao said. "You’ve got more stars than you could want from this one exchange."

Alex nodded. "I did get more than what I wanted," he said. "But I’m not sure I want to leave. I came for the Marker, so I’ll go to the Marker. If anyone else wishes to stop me, they are free to do so."
